I just got this error Monday on my X-E1. I also have an X-M1 that share one XC 16-50mm so I moved the lens to that camera to finish shooting at my sister in law's wedding. The error followed the lens. My research revealed that the problem is the lens and it appears to be the kiss of death for the lens. I was going to buy another but I'm now considering an upgrade with new camera and lens since I have 2 bodies and no lens other than a sigma 70-300mm and a canon to fuji mount converter. What's interesting is I can shoot with that lens on both cameras with no problem (no error) as the auto focus does not work with the adapter I'm using. I was told that the problem is that one of the auto focusing motors may have a problem
I also had this problem for quite some time. Tried different lenses same problem. Finally decided to give it to the service centre. The fuji guys told me it is either a lens and body contact point or a shutter problem. Mine was a shutter problem. I had to wait for around a month to get back the camera. since mine is a xt2, they had to order the shutter replacement from outside India. The repair cost was around 7000 (indian rupee)..
This error didnt happen to my xt2 and xf1855 but it did when i use the xf60mm. Beside, sometimes the camera automaticaly off and i cant turn it on back unless take the batterie out and put it back again. Love the look of fuji but so disappointed about the quality
Mine was like this, I think it's bcs I haven't used it for a long time. It was so frustrating. Did a little weird trick, which covering the lens with my hand for a while(I know it weird) but suddenly the problem disappeared and It works back like normal again. Hope it's helpful for other! Have a nice day - Also I turn off auto turn off just in Power Management after that just in case
hi guys this happened with my fuji xt100 too and what i did was when i put the lens on i twist it really solidly. after the click sound u have to twist the lens a bit in place. only slightly. then after that i no longer see the sign
@@izazitshaar_ halo.. beneran bisa normal lagi kah? Lagi mengalami hal yang sama nih. Tapi kalau dicoba tukar pakai lensa lain bisa berfungsi normal sih..
Very frustrated. On my first day trying the 27mm 2.8 and it does come with Turn off the cam... Lens is deffective. Wouldn't return to the position where it was when last focused; fails every three times out of four -five. Tried pushing it back when turned off, but just works 50% and for one time. Can´t work like this. I can't return the lens, I live far away from purchasing spot. There you go, 350 usd thrown away. I think what makes weak these lenses is that they move when inicializing. If maybe somebody pushed or stopped the lens preventing it from unstreching, just damaged some gear or "overheated" the motor: Done. Good bye lens.
Hi Take off the filter from the front of the lens, then try your camera. if you would like to use a UV filter you have to use a ARX-X100 adapter ring then attach screw your filter onto the adapter ring.
Lynne Matheson it's not the filter. I never use filters and had the x-t2 almost a year before it started doing this almost every time I use continuous AF and shooting.
this happens on my xe3 but only using the 35 mm 1.4 lens. Using my zoom and 23mm it will not do this so this tells me its a lens issue. Ive cleaned the contacts but still no go...any help would be great as my lens is out of warranty.
@@juliodemonte6119 Yes...stupid me. i had an after market lens cap with band that fit over the lens which interferred with the focus. Removed and it resolved itself. The design only had a problem with the 35mm and not others.
The same happening to me with my 27mm F2.8 lens, after I turn on my camera it let me take 1 or 2 shots and that error message pops up immediately. Such a frustrating thing especially that I just converted to Fuji from Nikon and this is not a good impression.
I've the 18-55mm F2.8-4.0 and it works flawlessly. I've searched for this particular issue and I found that the 27mm lens is probably defected and need to be replaced.
At the shop now - about to buy the X-T2, same issue. Tried different bodies and lenses, same error. It happens when focusing on one area in the horizon then quickly trying to focus on a closer area that is hard to focus on (like plain white or black surface). The auto focus struggles then the error message appears. Anybody got the issue fixed after sending it back for repair?
Same problem here with my xt2 on the 18-55mm. Been using it for a year before this error started popping up. Has anybody resolved this? I’m planning to bring the camera to the service center.
Sorry to hear that , i knew it's annoying , i would try to upgrade the lens firmware , if applicable . For me i had to sent it to Fuji fro repair! and its working now with out nay issue
@@vssreekanth I have this problem with the X-S10. Happens when using several lenses so it's not a lens problem in my case. I think it's related to AF because I hear a sound and feel a 'clunk' before it happens.
Just by giving the details of the issue to the customer support , they directed me to replace it , since it was with in the warranty window , i got it replaced with a new one with out any additional charge.

Were you able to fix this? I have the same problem with my X-A2
do you have something that interferes with the focusing like a lens cap strap?
Turn off. Bang it off of a table. Turn back on worked for me about 3 weeks back and is still working perfect.
same thing happened with me on Saturday and now i can see the shutter curtain on the sensor and it won't move🙄
Have you fix it? Thats the same problem i have now
