Thank u for this. Straight to the point! I’m new to real camera world :) just came home with my first camera Canon EOS R. Super excited to learn more. I have been taking decent photos on iPhone lol yes on my iPhone. But cinematography is my passion, I just never thought I could do anything because I’m disable and basically I have to move around in an electric scooter but I really enjoy taking Pictures/videos and editing. I went to school for it but it was kind of like long time ago :)

Hey Mayra, first of all, congrats for choosing the EOS R, it's really a great camera for both, photos and videos. Also, taking photos with an iPhone is perfectly fine. Gear doesn't matter, experience does. You can take amazing photos with any camera as long as the composition and subject are interesting. Their instructions say to put the camera in P and take the lens off. What did they miss?
I have problem with my camera. My camera is canon 800d. When I try to update firmware, the procces stuck at 99% until my camera off. What wrong with my camera? Thanks for your answer
So I checked on Canon's website which was the latest firmware for the eos RP, and it says it's the 1.6.0, but my camera says 1.6.1
hello I have a problem with my 50 mm 1.8 STM lens when I connect with my camera or any camera is showing me this massage firmware missing what can i do please
is it necessary to format the sd card? or can you just copy the file to the sd card
My camera keeps prompting me for the update file - I have downloaded it t two different SDs (one completely new) - I reformatted SD and downloaded to the root folder - nothing works.
Download updates and software from mobile and copy in sd card could work on canon 2000D ? I did it but its not working.
After removing the sd notification popping you need to update.
Mine is m50 mark 2 with version 1.0.1 on site they say I need 1.0.2 first to update to 1.0.3. Can I just install the 1.0.3 without the 1.0.2 because I can't find it anywhere

Wish I found this before attempting to update 😕 it has been blinking for about 2 hrs. Nothing on screen. Hopefully it will update and come back on.

@@VideoMakerTwist It was left overnight and I believe the battery died before fully updating. It did however update from firmware 1.4 to 1.6. The version for 1.8 was downloaded. So I will try again using your exact method. Thanks for asking 🙂
Update: followed your instructions and EOS R is now updated to version 1.8.0 very quickly! Thank you!

My camera (Canon EOS R ) says Memory card containing firmware is required to update. I need help. FIRMWARE VER. 1.4.0
maybe old Firmware on the Card?

I kept having issues until I watch this video, my downfall was not formatting the SD card to the computer. Also, after updating your camera and your lenses, don’t forget to use your cameras, menu system and format. Your SD card with the camera and above all make sure removed all your pictures before doing any of these procedures. 😄
