I love how when my cat does a little jog, her pouch will swing side to side like a pendulum. So cute!☺️😄
🎶 "I whip my belly back and forth!" 🎶
It is the cutest isn't it!🥰😻

I told my wife her primordial pouch was so squishy and cute.
That didn't go over well.
Is she still speaking to you, or has she thrown you out, don't get her chocolate to make up try a lettuce
And you lived to type this?
@@reneeelias9514😹😹😹
Hello, are you still with us? Whew, that was close! 😆
That was an episode from Found if I recall correctly.
I thought my cat was fat! Thank you, I learned something!
Hey Marlene 🌹
Me too! 🤣🤣
Your cat is definitely fat🤣🤣
I call it a cat sack! I love it.
. Protects organs in fights
. Extra stretch & flexibilty for jumping/running
. Allows wild cats extra food storage room
The End. Enjoy your extra 9 minutes of life.
Thank you! Now I can go rub my cat's primordial pouch.
you are doing God's work
At least those minutes were filled with watching cats
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks after 1:50 seconds in and still not knowing anything new I skipped to the comments. Is this guy making a youtube video or squeezing in extra words for a damn book report so much fluff.
My cat has a jelly belly! She didn’t have it before she was spayed!
Same. Both of mine are brother and sister, so I had the boy spayed first and just a month later he developed this pouch. Now almost a year later, we had his sister spayed as she was in distress from being in season too often. And now, a month later she has this pouch, too. She was very slender before, so we've now switched them both onto indoor sterilised food, and we hope that they will begin to slim down.
I called it "spay gut" on my cat
Exactly!
Brave elk 35
I just got my cat done 2 weeks ago and I noticed this pouch and was wondering if it was from the procedure
THANK YOU, I NEVER KNEW, AND NOW I CAN SAY MY CAT ISN'T FAT...
IT'S AN EVOLUTIONARY ADAPTATION!
Love seeing all these beautiful cats.
How to weigh a cat at home? Simple: Holding your cat, step on your scale, remember number. Then weigh only yourself, and subtract your number from the first weight.
That's how nurses weigh children too big for the infant scale and those children not able to stand unassisted.
If your kitty squirms, wrap Kitty in a soft blanket before weighing. I use a soft flannel or fleece pillowcase. Also, it works like a charm when I trim their nails.❤️🐈⬛❤️🐈
a suitcase scale works well for measuring cats in a travel cage and can be zeroed on an empty cage to make directly reading the weight easy
I really thought my very large sized cat Janie was very overweight at 11 pounds because she has that pouch. Now i think she’s ok. Thank you very much for this info.
❤❤❤
Hey
Love the jiggling belly. Jelly belly. It's so soft. Like touching heaven. The way it sways side to side. My current cat is the first one. Awe.
Many thanks. Was worried about it. Now fine.
I have a narrow cat. It’s hilarious, when I take him for walks and see that pouch swinging from side to side. Him? He’s sure it’s what lures the ladies.😂❤
I have a narrow Orange tabby girl. Her pouch swings like that and it's so cute.
@@LydiaStarz 😆🤣🤣
My 3 y/o grandson & I were sitting on the couch, with my cat stretched out on the other end. He looked over at her, eyes widen in awe. 😲 “Look grandma! Kitlee has a belly rug!!” Has a much better ring to it than ‘primordial pouch’… 😂🤣
Belly rug 😂😂😂 love it
Wow, my male cat has a big primordial pouch and he is nowherenear fat. I had no idea what it was so I'm thankful for this video. My two female's primordial pouch is not that noticeable. ❤❤🐈🐈⬛🐯
It's where the cat stores its Glock
Lmfao
😛 not to mention its CHONK
@@ahill4642 😆
I have a cat that definitely would do that! 🐈⬛😅
😂😂
I always wondered about this. My friends' cat has this pouch and I thought it was due to staying indoors and a kibble diet. So when I got my kitten I fed her a raw diet and allowed her to roam outside. Sure enough at the age of 10 she developed this pouch too. Now I know it is normal.
Only starts with the possible explanations after 3:30 into the video.
Thanks😊
When I adopted Ryan, when I lived in Nebraska, he was kitten. I called them wattles; they swung laft and right. Ryan is 11 years old now. A secrete eater to 24 pounds, last year. With a little exersize he has backed off to 21. My little Jacksonville City rescue cat, Andrew, weighs 7.9 pounds and begs for food; no wattles. I call him a deer, leaping about the living space. Since 1991, Ryan is my ninth rescue and Andrew is number 10. I have loved them all dearly.
You left out the ability of cats to relax when falling from deadly heights. Cats get injured when falling from three to six stories, but when they fall from over ten stories they have time to increase their air resistance buy extending their limbs. Since they normally land on their relaxed bellies I would imagine that the pouch not only minimizes injury by providing a softer landing, but also allows them to hyper-stretch into a wing to slow their descent.
Gotta love that pouch flap 😸
When they run up to you all happy to see you, belly flopping? It's the best!
One of my cats has always had one. Now I know why!
No you don’t this video was useless
I always wondered about that little bit of skin and fur that hangs down on my feral cat. Now, I know what it is. Thank you!💖✨💫
I think the little pouch is cute on cats. It's kind of like how a beer belly can be kind of endearing looking on the right frame.
I became familiar with Pixie Bobs through relatives that had a Pixie Bob cattery. That is where I first became aware of what they referred to as a "feral pouch".
I did not know this. Very useful and interesting information. Thank you.
Thanks for this great info. I too her pouch meant she I'd overweight. She's only 1 year old but not fat anywhere else. Thanks for putting my mind at ease!
My Peggy (green eyed monster/demon, Fluffy, Fluffinator, etc) just loves having her wobbly, wibbly bits rubbed.💕
Fascinating! Thank you!
As we call it in our home, a "Flerkin Pouch".
My Tortie had the cutest swaying pouch I ever saw.
My um. gut. feeling is they are just stored energy reserves when food is scarce.
I have read that. It makes sense
Thank you for that info!
Interesting video. Both my cats (sisters) like belly rubs. Their mostly homemade diet keeps their weight under control. Their body shape is within 4 and 5 on a body shape chart.
Good video, very instructive. I now have a new name for my beer-belly; it's a 'primordial pouch'... 🙂
I wondered about that pouch they get. My one year old kitty doesn't have it yet, but my four year old kitty does. He's a big boy, muscular and slender. He weighs about 14 pounds but I can see his hips. 😊
Next time my doc tells me I'm overweight, I'll tell him it's my primordial pouch. I have a pair of pouches hanging from my upper arms too. Deal. 🙂
Me, too! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 awesome, huh? My girlfriends and I call our arm pouches “bat wings”! LOL 😝
It's so cute when my kitty runs and the flappy bit flops from side to side.
Had a family 🐈 that has a big 1.
Looks funny when they either run or move around fast.
"I whip my belly back and forth!", as a parody of "I whip my hair back and forth!".
It’s where cats keep their secrets.
The secrets certainly do increase with age🤔 you may be onto something...
We call this the kitten sack. 😍
Fun fact. If you've raised your cat since he or she was a kitten and they've never had to be food insecure, the cat will more than likely retain it's pouch regardless of it's breed.
My cats belly has more pouch than necessary. He needs to leave his brothers food alone. We've tried everything.
Tried no free choice??
My last cat had an especially long, wobbly pouch…my bf always said he looked like an old female cat who’d had several litters of kittens😂 I miss giving him belly rubs, he was very receptive to them & that belly was great for petting!
He must have been such a character with that wobbly pouch and a belly perfect for petting! It's always special when a cat is open to belly rubs. I'm sure he brought you lots of joy and smiles. 🐾❤️
I have never heard of this !! Thanks !! I always wonder why my cats had it !! Lol. Especially my Tiger's( orange ginger kitty ) stood out ,caught my eye ! I thought he was overweight. 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🐈🐈⬛💞
When I was young I was told they have the pouch to push brush/grass to the ground while hunting without being heard...
I always wondered what that sagging was about. Thanks!
I always called it a jungle pouch!
I mentioned that pouch to my cat but he refuses to give up the beer.
All of these make sense…….thank you
Thank you!
Ooh I recall faintly overhearing another student and a para back in hs mentioning she had a Pixe-Bob cat come to think of it I just remembered that.
thanks a LOT for the USEFUL information and to be COMPLETELY honest i did do and/or PROBABLY will SOMEWHAT like cats
Thank you so much for this, my male cat has this pouch now I know he's normal lol ❤
My male black has a very large pouch that swings from side to side as he walk . He is a very beautiful handsome cat . My friend call him black panther.
My female sphynx she has a large pouch as well the which is more noticeable when she sits
My father calls them “purr pouches.” You know, somewhere to store all their purrs
Thank goodness we cleared this up..I was wondering if my furbaby needed some lipo. 😅
I have one too 😂 happened after I had my first child… everything went back to normal except for the now “primordial pouch” 😅 totally worth it though!
I've always called it a Gunt
Interesting!
I found out about primordial pouches from a meme, but the meme censored the word 'primordial' and replaced it with 'glock' and I didn't know how to look up 'What is the glock pouch that cats have actually called' without ending up on several lists
Very helpful video!
Very interesting. I was worried that my cat is just fat. Thanks
My daughter’s cat had one of these and the first time I saw the cat walk away from me is thought ‘Damn!! She got an utter!!
Ooh our cat has a big primordial pouch that sways from side to side when he runs. 😂
Good to know.
Thank you I had been wondering what it truly was that she had, a paunch Just did not know why my cat had it but it makes sense.
My cat is gorgeous & perfect!
My 14 year old neutered shorthair has a pretty pronounced one. I call it his cow udder. It's funny how it swings from side to side when he trots. I thought he had a hernia, but the vet said it was OK. My 9 year old Munchkin has a smaller one which dosen't move much. (Jan Griffiths).
My two cats can finish off an entire rotisserie chicken in one afternoon.
Always figured it's like a camel hump... they are often desert animal, a little extra moisture/nutrient storage never hurt... also a little protection in their vitals
Discovering the 'hidden' secrets of our feline friends! 😺 Fascinating insight into the mysterious primordial pouch!
I have an indoor old cat with no visible pouch but my indoor/outdoor cat does. She’s my Hunter
You know what? My cat developed a Primordial Pouch a few days after he been neutered.
The primordial pouch is interesting
to my best of knowledge/observance, it seems to me this only happens to cats that get fixed...if they are not fixed, it does not seem to appear, so having said that, I believe it to be a messed-up hormone issue that causes their bellies to hang... from what we do to them/fixing them, regarding their reproductive system/hormones, as it just cannot be good to remove any body parts and then expect it to be A-ok afterwards...and yeah I get it about not having a bunch of kittens running around...I am just saying, it has its consequences when the fixing procedure is done
Our tabby female cat has that ouch and I also thought it was her getting fat. I've learned a lot about our cat named Dakota, she's orange and white.
I tell my kitty my belly is my primordial pouch, just like his belly!
I don't have a beer belly, it's a latent primordial pouch!!! See how it jiggles when I walk?
I love my girl’s belly & pouch!
The granny apron!
Yep my cat has a pouch I always thought it was her belly
me: funny flap to touch
the cat: not amused
My 3 years old cat had a flab. I took him to the vet, they did bunch of tests on him because was fluid built up! They thought he had Leptospirosis, than other viruses, but turned out he has high blood pressure! Since they put him on medication, he has no more fluid and he feels better! The vet was shocked because he is so young 😢
It's so good to hear that your kitty is feeling better after finding the right treatment! 😌 It's always concerning when our furry friends have health scares, but you did an awesome job by taking him to the vet and ensuring he got the care he needed. Sending love to your sweet kitty for continued good health! 💖🐾
@@Feline_Fanatics thank you so much ❤️🙏🏻
Our three are have a pouch that flops from side to side but they are indoor only. Thought they weren't getting enough exercise since they are indoor only!!
I always called it a swing belly.
❤❤❤
Hello Marie? How are you feeling
I have 2 Egyptian Maus. The Primordial Pouch is quite obvious on these cats. I call the pouches "cat flaps".
Pouch it’s just extra skins so when the cat jumped, he can stretch his legs out so he can go further and it doesn’t fall on his stomach
Any chance it might also hold mammary glands? Also, another question: If I were to encounter a large cat, like a bobcat or some other sort of wildcat, would it be ill-advised to give them a, "blup!",greeting and then break eye contact, in hopes of reducing the tension of the situation?
I thought the pouch existed for belly rubs and tickles
I thought it was called a FUPA...
thought this pouch was caused by spaying and/or Neutering
❤❤❤
It's a beautiful day. How are you doing today?
My girl is an Egyptian Mau and has quite a primordial pooochie …..aka candy sac❤❤❤❤
The flippy floppy flap.
It's there Conceal Carry pouch.
You know these Cats are packing!
Nice to know my primordial pouch has a purpose.
My last cat never had a pouch. It was the only cat I ever had without one.
Good video! The narrator sounds like LeVar Burton a little bit... Is it AI generated?
Our sweet girl had a big pouch. My son in law told me he thought our cat is the fattest cat he’s ever seen! Ugh!!! I told him it’s her pouch!
My family had always thought our cat's belly flap was because she had a litter at a really young age.
I heard the primal pouch allowed the cat to extend his hind legs and run faster so not only have. I had an Egyptian now who has a candy sack pouch. I also had a minx who had quite hind legs and a huge candy sack.
