I believe my cat loves me. He shows me affection by rubbing against me, purring, and kneading on me. He also follows me around and greets me at the door when I come home.

But better be save than uncertain! Most cats that came to me, had previous owners.And some of them cats probably people had owners. that had too less time to take care of them. And of course these cats got enough food and enough to drink.
But that is not enough for every cat! Yes for most cats it can be!
Some of my cats had good people caring about them... but had too less attention!
And than cats beïng cats, some cats want more attention. You can't blame them and can blame soweone like me.
I just have an open window, where all my cats go in.
And sometimes some other cats walk in too.
Cats that miss something at home.
No I never gave any new cats food (only the hard food) that were here those cats for all my cats to eat. Nothing more!
Some cats need more than food and something to drink...like more attention.
Yes I know that is not always is recognised. But cats have feelings that we cat lovers have too!
And sometimes are drinks and food not enough!
I would do anything for my cat Roxy, she makes my day every time because she is always so vocal and always gives me cute looks

My cat trills to me when she sees me ...
She's not a lap cat but when I'm off colour she knows and when in bed sick she sleeps
By my side, I get a loud meow when it's feeding time, and yes she makes biscuits on me as well.😊😊😊
It sounds like your cat really knows how to show her love in her own special way! Even if she's not a lap cat, the fact that she sticks by your side when you're feeling under the weather really shows her affection. Isn’t it just the best when they trill to greet you? And those loud meows at mealtime plus the biscuit-making on you-she’s definitely got her own adorable ways of saying she cares. 😊🐾

Often when I say my kitty's name, she'll respond with a vocalization that sounds like the cat version of "Hmm?" or "Yes?" or "What?" which is so cute. She licks my fingers, which I see as a sign of affection. She's not a lap kitty but sits by my feet or under my chair. She does nudge my hand sometimes with her head.
Some times I think you can pick up on what you're cats thinking by there body language

I make my cats food because they had health issues and I want them to be as healthy and strong as possible. I waited 60 years for a hypoallergenic cat and now I have 2. 🙂

My 2 cats doesnt do any of these things, not a single one on this list…..😢
Sometimes, their affection might be more subtle. Keep observing their behaviors, as they might be showing their affection in less obvious ways! 🐾💕
Until what age are cat considered kittens?
Cats are generally considered kittens until they reach about one year old. 🐾 After that, they transition into adulthood. Some people still refer to their playful young cats as "kittens" even after that first year because of their kitten-like behavior. 😊
Oh come on! Is this babytalk bla bla, still the standard, you think is the best to speak to cats? That is so outdated. A soft tone of voice is good enough to kittens, to feel protected by (their mother) and their humans.
And if the kittens get older, I prefer to laugh more to them about their silly rituals. Probably it has the same effect on them, as purring .
And keep on talking to the kittens, even if they are getting much older. Be yourself, so that they you are a steady person in their lives.
If they listen to your babytalk, they expect you always to do that. But you won't... because you talk to the neighbours en family in a different way. So please stop babytalk.
No cats (even the smallest of kittens) ar creatures of habbit. They want to hear the same voice as they are used too.
So you can differ in hard or soft talking... but do not the castrated act. Be yourself, and they will love you for it!
Let laughter our human kind of purring. They will understand. Why don' t we?
I disagree with the baby talk thing with cats and all cats are different with their owners and have different personalities.
