I disagree about the bathroom. In the wild, cats are vulnerable while they're pooping, so other cats will "stand guard" while one does it's business. If your kitty insists on following you into the bathroom, it's because she loves you, and wants to protect you while YOU are... "vulnerable".

Absolutely! My girl Random sits right in front of me in the bathroom. She also does that soft chatter talk ONLY then, I think she's telling me "I got you man, relax and do your business."
My cat comes to get me to stand by when he uses the litter box sometimes.

My big boy Raylan comes to me and asks me to scoop the poop. He can’t stand the smell and he and his sisters don’t bury it.
I had a black Tom cat who once tried to sit on my lap while I was on the toilet. Had a tabby who used to walk with me to the paper shop, use to stop to go to the toilet on the way and expected that I should wait for her to finish. Love cats.
My cats must think I am weird for staring at my cell phone, watching TH-cam videos.
Show them what you're watching. My kitty is fascinated by any video where there's any kind of movement, even if it's just somebody talking to the camera.
My cat is super jealous of the phone. I try to show him what I'm watching, I even put those "cat relaxing" videos for him, but he only tries to destroy it. He is super careful with everything else, he never breaks stuff on purpose, but the phone, he hates it so, so much.
We LOVE our kitties, even though we have moments that are questionable, regarding our cats behavior. I try to remember my little precious kitty may feel the same way about me. I Love my fur-baby, & I'm glad to have her.
Our outdoor cat would occasionally deposit a half-eaten mouse on the front steps and wait for someone to find it. My mother - bless her - always praised the cat lavishly, sent him to the kitchen for his breakfast, and then carefully removed the offering with a baggie over her hand.

That is real love on the cats part. He is bringing you something that he really likes, and that is sharing on a level you don't get normally. I used to the same when our old man Simi would bring us a live mouse or roach.
You didn't tell us why Kitty stretches and claws the carpet when She sees me enter a room.
One of my cats has done that every time I first enter her bedroom for the three years she has been here. She is very social and outgoing. I believe she is just getting herself presentable/dressing up to see me.
Clawing can be an aid to stretching, and the stretching when they see you is just getting ready for action after being immobile for a few hours.
It's a greeting usually followed by flopping over to show the belly showing trust.
If my cat has to cough up a hair ball he likes to do it in my shoes.

I don't completely disagree. But I have had some very sweet cats. I am not a 'sweet' person. I have had cats that are jerks and align more with my crass personality.
The idea that our cats' personalities reflect our own really does put things into perspective, doesn't it?😸
It might just be a reflection of how owners choose their cats. An introverted, shy person is more likely to choose a cat that's also shy and quiet. In contrast, an extroverted person may choose a cat that's boisterous and runs around a lot. I don't think the owner actually shapes the cat's personality.
I've had cats with all different personalities. I can usually see a trait in them that reflects a part of my personality, but none have ever had so many similarities that I'd call it a reflection of me. Maybe its bc I have always had more than one cat at a time and they have other influences, rather than just me.
My cat actually sat down beside me and watched all of this video with me. I think she gives you the thimbs up!

I think the zoomies are also part of the prey instincts. Knowing how to run around their territory at full speed is important if they're being chased. Our cat sometimes pretends that we're big and scary, and runs away when we approach. She loves nothing more than for one of us to adopt a slow, lumbering gait and come after her in an obvious manner. She'll peek around corners and from under hiding places, and set off at full speed if she sees an opening. If she gets cornered, the game is over and she wants to cuddle.
My girl is a very gentle biscuit maker. But my boy is pretty heavy pawed. And the more I pet the louder they purr and more intense in their kneading. My boy once made biscuits on my head when I lean on a pillow. He gets tangled in my hair. Then it feels like he’s slapping me. Many is a big plushy I like to call him. He’s literally irresistible.
Mine zoom for various reasons. They've just used the litterbox. They've seen another cat outside. I don't let mine out. One of them gets startled by something and takes off inciting the others. I have seen my ginger cat just suddenly start revving up his motor and next thing you it's off to the races. He really sounds like a small motor.😂

So many questions have been answered....made me LoL my 3 cats have all these qualities.
My Maine Coon cat "JERRY" would sometimes play "tag" with my wife and I when we were outside . I never saw
him do this , but one time I was up on the roof and "JERRY" followed me up there . I believe that he climbed my ladder , although I never saw him climb my ladder . "JERRY" was an indoor / outdoor cat who was mostly outdoors .

My cat never does any of this . He doesn’t like hugged or never follow me. He just likes being alone and eat. Do you know why?
Mine was the same. I got her as a 2 year old stray and, not wanting to overwhelm her, I let her "be herself." I never picked her up but waited till she came to me. She did sleep with me. We did our own thing but she was my soulmate and I adored her.
Mine does many things, but she is not a cuddler. She doesn't like to be picked up and held. She sleeps next to me and allows me massage her, she bonks me and rubs her face on me. She gives me good morning kissy, follows to bathroom. Sits from across the room and looks at me, until I just notice her staring at me❤❤❤thats allegedly sign of love. But she is not a cuddler. The very thing I hoped for, when my babe came home from shelter 8 years ago. I love her so much!!! ❣️❣️❣️
Mine was the same way, UNTIL I got a second cat. Once he was used to her, I noticed that he was a lot more social and playful, both with me and her.
I agree, a second cat would probably help bring him around socially. It also depends on how much you choose to initiate interaction. If you greet him when you walk into the room and give a small pet when you pass by him, he might decide to be more social.
All of the above apply to our 2 kitties. They must really love us.
Growing up, we had a female cat who was the ace hunter between her & her brother. She wasn’t nearly as affectionate as him, but she left us a “gift” on our backyard steps every. single. morning. She didn’t especially want us to pet her, but apparently she was still worried that we’d starve without her hunting skills😂

Oh my girl Hollie is my little wirdeo. I have heaps of comfortable places for her to sit on but she'll rather sit on cardboard or sit on shopping bags. Like, right now she's sitting on cardboard. And 1 time she's sitting on the floor in my bedroom and she's just facing my wardrobe and just like staring at it. Cat logic!

5:25 I actually have to go to the grocery store to ask for cartons just to make my cats happy. It's hot in my country so no catbed, but they adore cartons, and boxes.
I got a little "gift" yesterday. I was about to take a step and thought, "What on earth is that?" It was just the hind legs and tail of a mouse - all in one little piece. I guess the rest was too irresistible.
Weird , often, is only what you don't understand.
It is Soo COOL When they get in Boxes, when I get other Kitty I am going to make sure She has a High Tree to get in and a BOX.
Its really hard to give cats medicine and mine is the worst. I tried diluting it in his water bowl thinking he is going to have to drink eventually. He kicked the bowl across the kitchen. I now have someone hold him down while i get the pill in his mouth. He has learned how to spit. I used to think he really loved me because he sleeps on top of me but then i realized its warmer there.
Try coating the pill in butter and make sure it isn't too big. The butter helps it go down smoother and makes it less likely they'll taste the medicine and drool like a St Bernhard. They'll still fight it, but I usually get the pill down in 3 tries or less, where w/o butter it can be quite a few more.
If the pill isn't incredibly bitter, you could try crushing it and giving it in an aromatic wet food like tuna or fish.

My cats, especially when they were small, used to stretch in front of me a lot. Every time they saw me, or wanted food, they'd stretch. Why was that?

My cat Eddie always follows me to the Loo.
My cat absolutely follows me into the bathroom because he is fascinated by the shower. When he realizes I'm just doing something else, he brushes against my legs for a couple of seconds and leaves. But when he sees a pre-shower routine, he sticks around, gets super excited when I turn the shower on and becomes torn between his terror of getting wet and how awesome he finds all that water falling down, so he ends up going to a safe distance from the shower, but stares at it like he's worshipping the water gods 😂
Leaving gifts I think is amusing. My cat often consumed rodents on the doormat. It occasionally left the nose of the mouse. It wasn't a gift it is the nasty part of some wild mice he didn't eat.
I used to bring him feeder mice from the pet store. He always loved those clean snack items and often would keep the last one to watch for entertainment.
Both insist on banging on my bedroom door for night cuddles before they go downstairs to sleep. They have each other to play with and when I’m awake they either hunker down in my lap, get their toy out of their box for fetch with me or snooze. They seem to know when weekends come and they like to sleep a lot. Non of my past cats ever ran around crazy and neither do my two as they have each other to chase. But just running around to run around nope.

My cats don’t mind a belly rub. But since I’ve done it and no teeth the novelty to rub a belly isn’t there any more because I’ve done it. But I start on their sides and work my way up to a rub. And of course they get kisses.

They have several boxes I have their open carrier out but mostly when Manny2 wants to pester his sister she’ll hop into a box. My two either like my couch a chair or my lap. Or one open brown bag and one bag is flat that Manny2 likes to loaf on.

Okay what about suckling on themselves like actually on their teet? My Cujo typically only does this when I'm petting her or if I'm like sitting down watching TV and petting her add bedtime she'll curl up show curl up on my chest and do the suckling thing to herself while making biscuits. Some information I do know about her I got her I want to say when she was around 4 months she's 7 months now. And the mother did abandon her and her brother. Is this something that will go away with more time I'm trying to break her of the habit? She only does this from what I've seen when I'm holding her in some way or petting her

My cat also Loves belly rubs.... You dont give it its daily tummy rub, it will show that its not interested in your presence... You will know it wants it by him sitting beside you on the couch, roll over then use his paws to bring your hand to his tummy

Mine likes to sit on my back while I work on the floor to be near him.
Many cats I've had like to walk in front of me while I'm walking through the room THEN LAY DOWN IN MY PATH. Or they stop to stretch. There have been many times they get stepped on, but I wonder if their thrill is the occasional times I stumble while trying to Not step on them, and I crash to the floor. Makes me think they're evil.
I want someone to explain my cats patrolling the house checking every room to make sure they know where all the inhabitants are.
I have one that does this multiple times a day. He is my most dominant cat and keeps the others in line, sorta like the alpha in dogs. We call it "making the rounds."
Cats are territorial and often the males will walk the perimeter of their claimed territory looking for threats, either from predators or other male cats, prey etc. In the house it can be just to see where everyone is, if anything new has arrived or disappeared, how stocked the food and water is and whether they're accessible at the moment, or looking to see if a litter box or favorite napping spot is clean and unoccupied. I think they start with finding out where everyone is so they can guage the safety of whatever they want to do next.

Can you explain why my cat walks around me in tight circles while I'm brushing my teeth? Circles so tight she steps on my feet in some passes?
It seems that everyone is using the thoughts of others... The words are always the same but the pictures R different..Thankfully
When I do the porcelain pony one or the other come in. They never hop on my lap. They rub against my legs, or my boy will jump onto the sink to explore, or jump into the tub and explore and fortunately Manny2 doesn’t pull out any tub tile caulk any more in his redecorating. When I run the shower water both come in and I ask them staying or going. If they stay the bathroom door is closed and I take a shower, get out and the kids are watching me and want me to open the bathroom door. Mostly it’s my girl who follows me in for some extra attention. But then one or the other is always with me unless I shut the door on them. Then other times I do my thing and no cats. Since their litter boxes are in both bathrooms the door is open and I have to weigh the door open with a scale or book or my boy would go behind the door and shut it. Oddly my first three cats never went with me into the bathroom when I do the usual human things. Usually after a shower Manny2 will go into the tub and lick it dry. He’ll do the same for my second floor bathroom sink. He’s not interested in the first floor bathroom sink in terms of tongue drying but he likes to explore the tub which can’t be used and have to clean it for him.

Sometimes my kitty grabs my hand (when I'm petting her) with both paws, bites my hand (not hard) then licks it. What is this?
Mine visits while I'm on the pot; she expects me to turn on the faucet. then she drinks (I DO leave fresh water out, but the Princess expects the running form.) Covered cat boxes are not her first choice; being ambushed by another cat while using one isn't fun for them, although the stalker seems to think it's funny.
My cats let me pet them all over, never bringing out the claws.

Before i got a cat, i sometimes go pee without closing the toilet door even.. now i makes sure its securely locked.. cause the bloody cat swiped at my balls when it followed me into the bathroom
Disagree on the reason for cats gifting. They're contributing to the group. It wouldn't make any sense that they think we can't hunt, because we're the primary provider of food.
So, the butt thing. I think it serves 2 purposes. 1. to show the person they love that they are healthy. 2. to remind the person they love that they are the gender they are. Just in case you may be interested - remember humans are just big, stupid cats to them so that's not weird at all. It is for us but our brains are a bit larger.

DO NOT pet or scratch your kitty on the back at the base of the tail. Some vets say it can even cause seizures. Whatever the excuse or reason, don't do it.

from what I know the base of the tail is very sensitive and scratching it causes them to react to the sensation. In general cats do not enjoy it.
😮 Thats not true about seizures. I've always patted my cats there for past 40 yrs and never seen a problem.
Why don† you close the door to the bathroom and lock it? That should be done by default even without a cat.

#8 depends on the cat. If mine catches a mouse that got into the house, he'll bring it to me because he knows he can trade it for something he likes better - chicken or turkey. ;)
And yes, if either is available he WILL turn up his nose at a freshly caught mouse.
