I've only ever heard "gets under your skin" to mean something irritating and the dictionary even uses voice as an example.
The dictionary states - get under (one's) skin
      1. To become a source of irritation.
I just can't stand Dean's voice, so everything he says gets under my skin.

It’s forever good. The world needs amazing people like Brian Molko unsettling people. Our 5 year old son has (very) long hair and other kids frequently refuse to believe he’s a boy. That’s where we are. Still, in 2022. Some friends of ours son is the same, a bit older, and he’s been asked if he’s transitioning, before simply being a boy with long hair.

Although I really started to listen to them with Battle for the Sun, one of my favorite albums is still the first one. So young, fresh, full of anger and love. I think my favorite song of this album is 36 degrees :)

I think Placebo are alright 9 out of 10 times you see them live. HOWEVER, if you see them that 1 out of 10 when Brian is fully connected, you'll probably see one of the best live acts in your life.

At 5:37 that breakdown you show sounds like the start to Boys Don't Cry. Or am I just hearing things, as my ear is not as tuned as yours? When I was a drummer, I always hit my crash behind my head too 🙂. Where else would it be?
Although, at the first show I ever played, at a house party, 2 days after sitting behind a kit for the first time and learning the songs, my floor tom slid behind me as we played because of a terrible rug on the floor, and you just have to go with it. My stage fright was so bad , but I just had to laugh. Ah ....early 90s memories!
Thanks, you always seem to bring me back good memories.

Justin, two wee questions for comments day. You are a very dapper dresser (both on stage and in civi life) and have an admirable aesthetic appreciation of clothing and style. How has your personal style evolved over the years (on/off stage)? Secondly, where do you generally acquire your clobber? Tailor made? Vintage? Designer? Charity shops? M&S? Whatever, it’s all utterly glorious ❤ (she said, clad in Primark joggers, a Prince t-shirt, and a cardigan that fell apart years ago😂)

I remember they supported Prodigy on the Fat of the Land tour, as Prodigy were trying to be more of a rock act than a dance act. This was in Glasgow and unsurprisingly all the weegie ravers booed Placebo as they took the stage, and continued through their first song. Moloko ran off the stage, looked like he was in tears. To his credit he did come back on after a few mins and continue the set, felt kinda sorry for them.

Being an adopted son of Dundee, Brian knew that he has being asked to play in hell. Mrs M’s reassurances “I am sure it will be fine. Stop worrying.” seemed to have been horribly misjudged for the first two minutes. Poor guy.

I saw The Darkness play Irving Plaza in 2003 (amazing show) and my recollection was that it was some sort of showcase for “executives.” After the show you came out to meet some folks, but I distinctly remember you and Dan switched shirts and you had his signature Thin Lizzy shirt on. Any recollection on why you guys switched outfits?

1:58 it is a detuned thing, but not tuned down. a lot of their stuff is in F A# D# G# C c. I believe they took inspiration from Sonic Youth on that one. You can hear the doubled up C strings clearly on Without You I’m Nothing, gives it a really lush drone.
7:55 both Placebo and Weezer used the Marshall 6100LM, which is the 30th Anniversary model. Idk when Weezer used their’s, but the 6100LM for the dirty (and some fuzz boxes) and a Twin for the clean is what was used for the first Placebo album.
