"all i set out to do was to never get a job"
everyday this man inspires me more and more
It's 2022, these guys were so ahead of their time. The best part is, they were always on the right side of history and everyone else that were afraid of "different" are not. It's gratifying, and encouraging that art was never straying off the "path". Art imitates life, always has and always will. Even if there is an element of "you might not like this, but your kids are gonna love it".
Nothing wrong with being Gay or Bisexual but I'm sure even Brian cringes at some of the excessively Woke transgendar culture around nowadays which appears to think a woman is allowed to have a penis and still be called a woman, it's just in total denial of biological science. 🤔
The fact they teach children from an early age that this is apparently "normal" is also disturbing!
Damn, Molko's looking great 😍 I'm a huge Placebo fan, been a fan since I was a kid and saw Song To Say Goodbye on MTV. The music video still makes me cry. A masterpiece ❤
Hi me too ...Meds is brilliant album ...
What a rockstar. I really admire placebo and all they did to not conform to society. Such a positive influence ❤
They weren't exactly the first male band to wear women's makeup and have an androgynous imagery, ok maybe wearing the skirts and bra's etc....was abit of a WTF moment back in The 90's era of laddishism.
So ahead of their time. A band that can't be pinned down & put into a neat little box. ❤❤❤
I am straight and just appreciated the fact that they @#£%in ROCKED! Brians voice is also just SO distinctive. My eldest daughter (15) through my listening to Placebo in the car is also a big fan, taking their incredible music onto another generation.
Brian completely shaped new punk with his views.
Placebo will go down as one of the best Punk/Rock bands forever.
"A song to say goodbye".
Not hardly ❤️👍
I’m obsessed with the placebo. I watched 3 or 4 videos of theirs just about every day. Of course I love running up that Hill. What the hell, I love all the music.
I hope they make 10 more albums and tours!
I remember when Nancy Boy came on MTV. Even though it is not their biggest song in terms of recognition today, it stands out as one of the most perfect singles of the decade, it just really captures the whole vibe so amazingly well and spot on. The video has these spacey, distorted aesthetics and a sort of fucked up druggy queer vibe. Not in a derogatory way, but more like embracing freaky wildness and opportunity. And it was not a facade, it was SO Placebo.
The song itself is very outspoken against all things conservative as a means of freeing the freaks hiding in the shadows, in a provocative but charming way. Very tongue-in-cheek. I feel like Placebo always rode on the back of teen angst, even naming a song after it. But in a way where they're saying like "we understand what you are going through!" to their young fans.
This would be harder to get away with today.
People would be keen to take sides, like this would be too woke almost.
But that's just because today sucks, and we need to bring back the hopeful 90's, am I right? ;-P
I was literally just thinking that in terms of how modern society would perceive this. I love How Brian just wanted to fuck with everyone's head. Lol But this whole woke movement has destroyed the idea of ambiguity. It's just a shit show.
I'm a black metaler. But i've always loved Placebo.
It worked. I have been keen on Brian since 10. 😂❤❤❤❤❤
Always loved placebo amazing band end off really so many awesome songs great performances
,The death of nancy boy" is really painful for me. I understand that they had grown up and they wanted to develop their music and lyrics. But ,,nancy boy" and the whole "nancy boy era" are the huge inspiration for me. I realize that a lot of things that they were doing at that time was just an attempt to get attention. Brian Molko is a very interesting person and it was quite hard to understand how does he feel about this song and this era now. (I still don't understand))
thank you so much for uploading this 🖤
Oh Molko, what a brilliant performer you are!!!! 💕💕 Thanks so much for uploading it 💜
Still got the biggest crush on Brian 😍. Placebo were ahead of their time back then.
I’m a new fan and so do I 😂
Really wish I’d been around in their earlier days
Brian is a badass!
He rocks that new look!
De la mano de Placebo siempre estoy 👍👍👍👍🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
the king of alternative rock
Thank you for sharing it ! 💟🙏
2023 and i'm still a very loving & loyal & always dedicated fan, you have my love, heart and my oath . i took my son to placebo this last year... and it was the most beautiful & on my top 5 concerts of my life. i'm not gunna lie, i'm still in love with brian and still bruised pristine. and if i had another chance to be right in front & center to brian & stephan i pray & hope i have more of a one- on - one conversation and i know there hear it alot. but their music saved me more than once. and all i want really is to hold both of them close, hug them dearly and let them know how much i love them, and what they mean. i could probably only list maybe a few handful of band's that saved me , inspired me, kept me alive, were my inspiration & music to my own personal artwork & poetry. xoxo im still awaiting a response .
♥️Thank you!! ✌️🎶
I love them so much
I became a fan of PLACEBO in the early 2000s, when "Black Market Music" was their newest album and "thebsh" (the brick sh**house) was their domain for their official website. They did a great job of making music for the "square pegs", and Brian is one of my androgynous/non-binary/genderqueer/genderfluid icons, and definately an inspiration to me coming out as an Enby myself.
A friend of mine had backpacks full of cds in his car in the early 2000. This is how I found music from PJ Harvey, Placebo! I’ve been listening ever since. I can’t wait to see them again!
I love how validating Placebo has always been for the community. Brian always inspired me to be true to myself, even if it meant letting go of some close minded people in my life. Whenever I get low or stressed out about the fact that I like guys I throw on ‘Meds’ and just listen to the album from start to finish. Something about it just seems so say ‘yeah, life can be pretty crazy sometimes, but despite all that, you’re still here.’
(Special needs is also an excellent source of comfort, albeit on a different album.)
…admittedly it also helped that Brian was incredibly attractive…
thnks for sharing 🙏🏼
Thankyou for sharing this!
I love placebo 🖤
We still love you ♥
Thank you!!!
Nancy Boy is a great song and Brian is a great singer and songwriter so I love the band. This interview turns back the time when many were wondering if that was a man or a woman on stage? Actually it doesn't really matter, the main thing is that you like the music!
I've been such a massive fan of Placebo for 20 years now. Holy shit, what a sentence.
I'm a straight cis dude from the US, and Placebo came around the time when I was just discovering alternative scenes to midwest US bullshit, but needless to say it was quite the culture shock.
And I think we can all admit Brian looks sexy AF in that video.
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I remember watching this and standing in my living room staring at Brian ❤❤❤
love 🤍🤲🏻
❤
I dont know why Brian was so funny there..XDD
❤️
wow molko can grow a beard! amazing
I remember watching this and I thought they were amazing from that first head tilt , the way he hit those strings was the dogs bo***** .. he could have played any old rubbish and we still would have liked it .
Yes........TTTHHHAAANNNKKK YYYYOOOUUUU.........XXXX XXXXX
Secrets secrets thanks Brian ❤️ you truly are as grounded as existence clever or natural you decide in this toxic existence.dose it matter ...
No
Christ, Skin has not changed at all. She still looks amazing.
I love how for their second performance Brian is wearing a dress and his hair looks even more feminine too. I wonder if it was specifically to aggravate those who complained about his appearance during Nancy Boy.
I think placebo have no idea the weight they have had on so many people lives, Brian molko literally helped me discover I was trans/genderfaun so thanks :)
"Skunk Anansie"? I thought she disappeared? Good to see she's still kicking... And so are Placebo...
Tbh that's a band! But yeah they're still going and Placebo are smashing it
Bruise Christine!!😂
im french and as a kid i thought that brian was actually saying christine 😭
He was hot- and still is🔥
I have to admit, this mini doc or piece has greatly over exaggerated things. The 80s gave us Boy George, Annie Lennox, Pete Burns, Marilyn, Gary Numan, Steve Strange etc I think by then the gender bending idea had been pretty well established.
Without Placebo I am no nothing but not the same ....
Not me thinking Pedro Pascal was the interviewer!!!
Who else is disappointed by the new set list? I mean c’mon they’re not playing any of the good old songs except meds. So sad
Bionic is on there. That's a banger! :(
I mean really they are performing to promote their new album so it's a no brainer they will perform their new stuff, I think there was a good balance old/new (5 from never let me go and 8 from previous albums), they really should have played 'every you every me' but supposedly Brian doesn't like performing it live anymore
@@ewaromanow No it was because they played it 100 times on the 20 years tour that lasted *2 YEARS*
I’m ready for some infared. I saw them back in 03 so ready for their set!! I can’t wait to see them in September!
Nope. Best gig I've ever been to.
No mobiles at ur gigs or autographs it's the fans who made u rich u runaway when someone see's u in the street. That is anxiety for u because I have those meltdowns. I'm honest about it this due to Flashbacks from an abusive past 🙃 u have to take control reclaim those 😨 .
Brian is hot!!!
They made it cool to have androgyny but nowadays the culture sucks and you'd think they'd want to distance themselves from the trend followers as they were actually original. Sad to see them try ro capitalize on it
Yes androgyny has become unsexy and a costume now … boring boring boring
Brian has always been naturally androgynous, he's not an act or a costume for him. I've seen them live a LOT and Brian has plenty of natural feminine mannerisms.
Adam Ant's gone a bit camp.
Loved him when everything was free and early. Looks like a motley c member moustache awful
I don´t like Brians new white teeth.
Sad to see Brian ageing so badly. Seems he really stopped caring about his appearance 😢
He looks really shady now. Wearing dark glasses all the time, like he's hiding a crime.
What?
😂тысяча чертей😂 а ведь я была влюблена в этого мужчину😅
