What a FANtastic way to build a favorite moments segment. We have had many of the friends Jon talks about in this segment on our show. And many others we would like to have on as well. The connections and friendships behind the scenes make the show even better.
The Strong Guy, The Fat Guy, The Genius? Big Man on Campus? Both hilarious bits that I never forgot about, but their accompanying jingles were the icing on the cake.
The Boy Band, Fresh it Up, was peak. If SNL had written/aired that, it would have turned into 10 skits over 5 seasons. It was HILARIOUS! (it has shown up in at least 3 of these memories vids. The writers and costume lady are justifiably proud.)
Fun with Rupert is always hilarious. Did they ever air the clip when somebody pulls a knife out on him? If not can you guys dig it up and post it?? Ice skating with Bill must have been awesome.
I love that it seemed Zsa Zsa was having a legitimate good time in that remote.
Love these staff favorite moments. Ingenious whomever came up with this idea, thanks Dave!
I love all of these memories of working on the show. No one is as good as David Letterman!
Johnny Carson and Craig Ferguson are better than this guy it's obvious
All three genlemen are great hosts, lets be grateful there were no fallons or cordens in the golden age of late night
Wow! You did a great job helping Dave come up with awesome and iconic things to do on TV, Jon.
I have such wonderful memories of 'The Bar' sketch. Remember watching it on air.
Thank you for sharing HAIRBOY! 🖤

Gerry’s catch phrase about Lou Rawls is a classic. And I love how multiple writers have brought it up as part of their favorite memories.
Brilliant, Jon, thanks for this clip - loved it!
Bill Murray did so many great skits for dave😂
Bill was his first guest. I was THERE. Murray was hysterical before the show.
As did Regis, Bruce Willis and Rupert.
These should come with a playlist in the description of all the bits he was talking about in the video.
---------------------- big ask .....not to be confused w/big ass .....canned ham is this close to spam....thanks4sharing
What a great segment. Beckerman is a great writer. Way to go!
These are Gold! keep em coming ..:)
Thank you, Steve, for Big Ass Ham! I considered those bits to be the height of comedy as a teenager. **giggle** Ass …

The Letterman TH-cam channel should post the full performances for Fresh Step and all the fake musicals.
These are great to watch. I worked nights and enjoyed the show and missed so many bits. Great 👍
I didn;t know Warren Beatty actually did a bit for Letterman show lol.
Brilliant.
THANKS
Yeah! Also, sup!
Was that Matthew Morrison in the boy band?
Yes!
Sweet Lou Reed shirt.
There's only one ham I serve my family it's Big Ass Hams.
Lou Rawls !
Right now I need Lou Rawls, but I don't have him.
Jill Davis = Certified Knockout!!!
What was it like being around Paul. The guy who know ever one who was anyone in music. Plus the most uncool cool person ever
Nice 😂
bet the janitors LOVED peaboy
In the final sketch who's that next to Dave?
He also did ED
that’s my dad!!!!
Is it possible that Matthew Morrison started his career in that "boy band"?
Is that Tom Hulce or Lou Reed on your t-shirt? I can’t quite figure it out….I’m leaning Lou. Damn you had the job of jobs….funny in a circus of funny.
RIP
I wonder if Dave remembers any of these people.
Corny guy
