I have been a Letterman fan my entire life and Paul Newman has always been my hero. This was my favorite moment of the entire history of the show...a complete surprise to the viewer and you could tell how much Dave loved the moment as much as Paul. Glad to put you up there with them Bob!

1:19 Back row, black and white print shirt: Chris Fowler of ESPN. He was there as a guest of the man who got two tickets, Craig Wachs (seated to his left, our right), an ESPN researcher at the time. Wachs wound up getting Dave’s tie after the show.

I remember watching this and thinking Paul Newman with the finger gun thing was the greatest thing ever.
Paul's finger pistols and Dave's reaction is one of my fav moments from the entire run.
