So I recently watched "old" Clint in "the Mule". Same laid back guy. Clint has always been a favorite actor of mine. Hes 90 years old now, I think", in 2024. Iam 84. I think Ive seen every one of his movies. God bless you, Clint!
The Mule was very good bcuz Clint's character was very different than his usual vengeful, good guy" character that made him a star! It was apparently based on a true story.
That's when you got moments like George Gobel coming out and sitting down with Bob Hope and Dean Martin and saying "You ever get the feeling that the world is a tuxedo and you're a pair of brown shoes".
It was nice to see Easteood simply enjoying the humor and the ribbing about the tie. He showed some real class. And the gym socks comeback was timed and delivered perfectly. The crowd roared!
So what if he is a trump supporter. It doesn't change how much talent he has. He's voted mostly Democrat in his life. Republican when it suits him. There was a time when people didn't get their feelings hurt by someone else's opinion. You could just accept an individual no matter what they thought. In fact we celebrated our differences!! It's very interesting to hear Clint talk about film shots, wide, then dramatic closeups, etc. He became such a great director and writer. Plus, he's a cool jazz/blues pianist. Cool dude.

Johnny Carson was a class act. Dave Letterman was, too. Letterman was a novelty when I started college; there was a lot of talk about people missing morning classes because Letterman made them stay up an hour later than usual.
My girlfriend and I had the rare occasion to meet and talk to Clint years ago, we were just a young couple. He was with his young son and they were surrounded by several bodyguards but my girlfriend ran through them to meet him and he was gracious enough to stop and chat and let us snap a quick picture with him. He was not arrogant or mean to us in the least, just a nice normal guy. 🎉

31 years ago. My, how time flies. Johnny was on the tonight show for less time.
I lived near Santa Maria California from 84 to 88 and i regret not going to vist Mr. Eastwood n Carmel. I was just maybe 1.5 hours away.
One of my Uncle’s lived in Carmel at that time and would occasionally run into Clint, said he was always cordial, but my uncle was one to simply say hi and not bothering him beyond that.

His claim to fame as the Mayor of Carmel, was that people could eat ice cream...(long story).

Johnny Carson was amazing. He was insane. Such an important part of my childhood. David Letterman sealed the deal. They’re both the reason for my sick sense of humor.
