Doesn’t matter if they’re filming you. That’s illegal. They have not earned the benefit of any doubt. They have not earned any respect beyond what is legally due all of us. You bring up being “disrespectful” as if there isn’t a huge power imbalance here that they’re trained to exploit. Please think more critically than this.
Imagine showing respect to a cop who doesn’t even show enough respect to us to give her badge number. Not to mention she could have completely ignored him because he wasn’t breaking any laws but her cop ego wouldn’t allow it. She just had to go over to him and try to boss him around.
Cops will get respect when they earn it. But for now, all they do harass innocent people and look for/fabricate reasons to throw people in a cage. That profession deserves zero respect.

When a cop walked up to me and I offered to shake his hand and he looked at me like I was stupid and refused, was the day I never showed an ounce of respect to another cop again.
