I used to have a stressful job, if I felt a headache coming on, I walked to a quiet place, then stomped my foot hard 3 times while saying loudly "I do NOT have a Headache", then within 30 seconds it was gone. I did this MANY times, it worked for me!

You left out SMELLS. When I have a headache, any scent can make me hurl. For my fellow headache sufferers, I have a LOT of luck taking a "headache shower." Get my head wet, then let hot water pound on my belly. The cooling on my head and the heat on my belly supposedly helps relieve pressure in the head. I don't know if that is what is going on, but I know it helps, and I do not have to try to take a pill that would just come right back up. Thanks for the video, I will give this a try too!
The difference between scan #2 and scan #3 AFTER the person was educated is pretty amazing. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the static in the second scan was fear. We feel pain and our minds can go to all sorts of places of worry. That's what I appreciate about you both. You talk sense to us, give us "inside information", explain things simply and don't scare us all into surgery at the first sign of limitation or pain as many doctors do. Thanks to you, I bet I'd have a nice calm brain scan now too. heh.
Cut out all “artificial sweeteners”...not a headache/migraine since! Never imagined that is what was causing them! Had to share what worked for me!...(using little Organic Maple Syrup in my tea now)!
@@1999GALA I'm not doctor but honey and maple syrup and other natural sugars are fine for me. I just can't do the artificial. Especially aspartame. I hope switching things up helps you!!!
Great info guys, thanks! I gave up sugar and coffee 3 months ago and haven’t had a migraine since... but I still get the stress headaches. I will check out this book!
One other tip that's more about biochemistry. My migraines are often triggered by artificial sweeteners (and Stevia) and have far fewer once I cut all that out. They're everywhere, even toothpaste, so it isn't always easy to cut them out, but worth the effort to find out if they are one of your triggers.
This is some of the best current evidence supported advice I've heard on headaches except for the part where you mention posture causing tightness around the neck shoulders and upper trapezius. Fantastic video for me to share
I am from the philippines and i have this terrible headache. When i saw your video i am definitely sure that is most likely what you called cervicogenic headache. Thank you for all your videos. Very educative
I spoke with a neurologist at the Cleveland Clinic about my migraines. He told me that migraines specially menstrual migraines can be cured with a 3 week regimen of magnesium oxide 400 mg daily. It takes about 2 weeks to see results but then the migraines go away. It really worked for me.
I pray this works for me I’ve been getting really bad tension headaches always when I’m out at stores, hurts to the point that I get slightly lightheaded. Consistently for about 3 months
Interesting. I have noticed that when i have a migraine or tension headache, if i can get my mind thinking about something and totally off the pain, I notice the pain significantly decreases and sometimes has even stopped the headache completely.
You guys are great. I have learned so much and I look forward every day to learning more. I have put into practice many of your exercises and in fact these exercises have relieved my plantar fasciitis and other pains. I look forward to practicing these headache exercises whenever I get my next headache. Thank you very much.
Will try these exercises for my next perimenopausal hormone headache... Finding inflammed spots on the back of my head and rubbing them sometimes helps, but not always.
So helpful and so true, stumbled upon this video mid headache, def helped doing the stretches to lower the intensity. Having Fibro, it all keeps coming down to nerve sensitivity. Treatments like these you can start immediately to reduce pain, and apply to multiple areas of concern. I have listed all kinds of ways to help calm physical nerves of overstimulation and reference to it on hard days. Try it!
I am sensitive to smell. Smell makes me sick! Certain smells gives me headaches. I noticed because smelling things will make me nauseous. Then I will get a headache
Recently endured 12 consecutive days of headaches. I did much of what you said. It is good to know I was on the right track. I am going to find that book! Thank you for such a helpful video. I will pass the info on to others.
Can you please share exercises for Trigeminal neuralgia. I am Suffering with this pain from past 24 yrs. It gives me electric shock pain on my right side of the face. Please help. I will really appreciate for the bottom of my heart. 🙏🙏🙏
Interesting topic. I will likely buy that book once it's back in stock :). Another book that I find has helped me is "Non-Drug Treatments for Headache" by G. Brent Lucas.
@Bob & Brad I love watching your videos. Can you shed some light on whether I should be doing yoga "plow" pose? I have been doing it for a while, but my massage therapist says there is a lot of tension in my neck, and I also have 'tensions' headaches, but I am not sure if it could be coming from the plow pose.
I have tried all those no help, what about cyclic migraine 🤕? I do get those every month about 15 days on n off in a month horrible days, I have tried everything you name it no help getting worse and worse, I just turned 49 years old. Any advice???
Just to add to what you said: DRINK MORE WATER!!!!!!!!!! Dehydration can cause headaches or make them worse. Thanks for your helpful tips! I get tension headaches on the regular and once I started using a neck massager thing (looks like a horseshoe with two beauty blenders on it) and doing stretches they haven't been happening as much.
I suffer from horrible migraine like headaches and dry sinuses when our ion ozone generator is on. I mean even the smell can seem heavy and metallic tasting or breathing. My husband thinks I guess like I’m still making this up after like idk 15yrs! I want to through it off a balcony. 😕Anybody else experience these symptoms?
I know I’m about a year late with my reply but you really should not be using an ozone generator. Ozone is an air pollutant. Any claims that it is good for you are basically just marketing and have no scientific basis at all. You know when we get air quality alerts in the summer that ask us not to drive/mow lawns/fill up on gas that day? It’s because there’s too much ozone in the air. It is harmful to our lungs and gives children asthma. It’s no wonder you have trouble breathing when the ozone generator is on.
OMG THANK YOU SOOO MUCH🙏🏽 I thought my Brain was moving 😩 I got CRPS/RSD,, my neck is always stiff that causes my hand to burn also thank you so much for the help🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you again for saving me🙏🏽🙏🏽
Never volunteer to carry a massage table up a narrow flight of stairs to get a home massage. It's counterproductive. Don't do it. Also, don't let most massagists touch your neck. Odds are they don't know what they're doing
Why do I always wake up many mornings with a ''dull headache'' If I happen to wake up (Over Heated) under my blanket?? ----------------------------------- I just cannot win... I might go to bed feeling Cold. Then I'll put my heavy blanket over my shoulders feeling so so snugged and comfortable. But then, IF I don't happen to wake up like 3am or 4am to pull down my blanket when my body heat warms me up 'to much', I will end up having an all-day headache. The type of headache that not even 3 Advil pills of 250 mgs can rid of.
If this is how I'm picturing it, then it's due from subjecting yourself to increased carbon dioxide all night. People who tend to sleep with a blanket over their head tend to have headaches.
I used to have a stressful job, if I felt a headache coming on, I walked to a quiet place, then stomped my foot hard 3 times while saying loudly "I do NOT have a Headache", then within 30 seconds it was gone. I did this MANY times, it worked for me!
