Too much clickbait and filler in TJ's videos, even if they technically have higher production value from all the cars in their rotation. I much prefer Cameron's chill and friendly style of vlogging lol.
Love the wheels .. you need to take of the dealer stick in the front windshield lol and don’t get coilover for the civic just get some H&R lowering springs and you still get to keep your stock suspension damping control
If you are looking for comfort but still a low car go with Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs. Not sure if they make them for the Type R, but thats what I am running on my GTI and I love them!
I think the +45 offset looks great. I don't like wheels that stick out past the fenders. I think it looks ridiculous. Great choice! I think you should go with 255/40/18 tires on the type r. I think it's a better look and will be a better ride.
BC is typically heralded as one of the faves in most car communities. Ive never had them but they are constantly recommended. I personally use D2 coilover on the Veloster, but I think they are a little "stiff"
I'm on BC Racing Extreme lows and pretty much maxed out and it rides like a charm, I have 27 clicks all around on dampening and preload properly adjusted
Cameron, I think what might be getting you with the coil-overs is the spring rate. If it is too stiff I would think you could change them to a softer spring.
If you want to lower the CTR, I would highly suggest getting the RSR Active i coilovers. I believe they’re the only coilovers that retain the factory dampening adjustment system. I have them installed on my CTR and they perform very well with the 18x9.5 265/35 wheel and tire combo. Fair warning tho, the front end suspension of the type r can be a pita. Took a buddy of mine and I 5hrs to install with a lift.
It’s because of people that have cars like we saw at 7:55 that New York State banned all forms of exhaust modifications and require the usage of factory exhausts
I would say, from experience with coilovers, go with lowering springs for the type R. It will be much more comfortable and worry free. Even just a 1 inch drop would be perfect 👍
For me personally I prefer Lowering Springs over Coilovers. I really didn’t want to lower my GTI because I had factory adaptive dampers. I went with Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs which work with stock Adaptive dampers retaining comfort. If you are looking for something adjustable, there are adjustable lowering spring options too.
You have mentioned these 235/40R18 and aldo considered 235/35R18 but those would be smaller than oem. Did you considered 225/40R18? That would be in tbe middle between 215/40 and 235/40, and it is a cheaper size as it is quite common in hatches like Golfs o Focus, etc :) BTW: did you noticed or measured less performance with these 235/40s (due to higher diameter, I don't know total weight, as the wheel may be lighter but the tyre heavier)? You could also have weighted the wheel only, an then wheel+tyre just bexore mounting them in the car, that would have been great info for comparison
I did the same on my RX8, went a little wider and taller sidewall and it fills the wheel arch so well. I'm getting an 86 so I might do similar to you, thanks for testing for me haha😁
The type R definitely need bigger tiers. I’m planning to do rsx wheels on my 9th gen but I need to do 205/55/16 in order to get them the same size as stock. Those new wheels look sick!
Hey Cameron! Your videos are awesome, and I just starting tuning into your series about a month ago on the BRZ since I started looking at the GR86. Cool thing is, I *finally* managed to snag the GR86 from Toyota (RIP my wallet with the mark-up) last week but it's been every bit worth it. I just remembered back to your exhaust installation, and if for whatever reason you still feel like giving it away to someone in need, I would be more than happy to complete the true collaboration between Subaru and Toyota together with you 😅 Congrats on the move, btw! Hope Florida works out wonderfully.
Hmmmm i drive a 20’ si with bc coilovers and i love it had it on my last civic too and no complaints. Doing the dampening really helps especially on crappy roads
Cam If you get a bigger tire for the Type R i would just go 265/35/18 and since youre planning on getting swifts w/ the TS-5s that are +45, you shouldnt rub. If you had Volks or Gram lights with like a +38 offset you might start rubbing. Civicx and reddit are great for references but otherwise, great vid as always 👍🏽
The wheel fitment On the type r is why everyone uses lowering springs to help after switching to 18’s. Also it brings the cars centre of gravity down so extra bonus.
I don't know if they make them yet for the BRZ or 86 but KW coilovers are the best for street/track setup.. unless you got the cash for some JRZs, Ohlins etc..
I am running 265/40/18's on Titan 7 18x9.5 in STI fitment +40 offset and they are almost perfect on my 10th Gen Accord. Odo readings are almost identical compared to the stock 19 rubber bands. BRZ looks good with the new wheels. Good luck with it. P.s. that Mustang sounded so freaking stupid. Those crack-n- pop tunes are just the worst thing ever.
I have a set of 18x7.5 TE37's on order, but I'm liking your set up. Only thing I'd do is go with an 18x8. But overall, excellent choice in wheels. BTW spline key is the key for the security lug nut. Don't lose it.
Let me know if you want to sell those old ones..... =) Love the new wheels, I can understand not going too agressive. It's a daily driver, and you still have to "live" with it. Loved the music, didn't know you did that.
Honestly I might be down to sell my old wheels. If I ever put this “back to stock” i wouldnt mind just selling the car with these Enkeis since their such an appropriate fitment
Yow brother. Its out of topic on this video upload. But im hust tryin to get your attention😅 okay,it’s regards with the ktuner. the phearable stage1 &2. I have my hatchback sport touring. With prl cobra cai street and borla exhaust, is it okay to tuned it with the 1 and maybe try the stage 2 as well? thankyou so much. More power to your channel dude. drivesafe.
Wow I heard that mustang popping and capping for at least a couple more mintues after you had pointed it out. Isn't that car pops and caps tune very popular in FL?
Awesome vid Cam. I like how the Brz looks! The wills fit it perfectly in my opinion. Also on the type-R it's about what you like as well I personally don't want it lowered but that's me. You do you man. I am here to support.
Go with the Japanese brand 'TEIN' on coilovers. If you like sport feeling but still want to have some soft/comfy feeling to it. Trust me and you will love it.
That's about as aggressive a fitment as I'd run, myself. It's more apparent on the rears - running more "poke" out of the rolling stock means the spray of dirty ground water kicked up by the tires has a better chance of ending up on your bodywork, especially on this car where the rear bumper cuts inward from the top of the wheel arch down. Between going larger or smaller on the tire - the tires you picked on the BRZ look pretty spot-on. I don't expect a lot of added sidewall squirm on the Michelin PS4s with the larger sidewall. It really depends on the tire. From experience running Kumho Ecsta SPTs a long time ago, those had rather soft sidewalls for a sporty tire, and I ran them with slightly more sidewall. It was very comfy driving straight, but it took me some getting used to on aggressive cornering as the Kumhos didn't like abrupt transitions, preferring smoother steering inputs.
@@Camhill182 sick, can’t wait to see that, do you think you can maybe race a golf r or a gti with the type r? Would like to see that even possibly a review about the mk8 gti or golf r, that would be rly cool to see
I would go to a wider tyre on the type r and stick with the same profile. It will still give you more rubber between the rim and the road but the tyre won’t look so stretched.
@@Camhill182 on my stock fk8 wheels I’m running 255/30/20 instead of the stock 245/30/20 and the visible difference in width and tyre height is noticeable.
Grats on the new wheels and perfect size for your car. BC coilovers are ok but depending on spring rate they can ride rough. I have TANABE REVEL TOURING COILOVERS full soft and great ride.
If you're looking for more comfort in suspension then your gonna sacrifice performance. Tein makes the softest spring rates. They ride Like stock. Bc are actually very good coilovers over all.
Damn the wheels came out looking very very good. Now with a bigger caliper up front it would look insane. Great work on the car exterior so far. Keep it up! 👍
You should hit up Geoff Cygnus at Cygnus Performance for your next set of coilovers. He won't steer you wrong. Plus his coilovers are some of the if not THE best on the market.
I’ve never had any issues with BC coils. I’ve also had cheaper brands and have ridden in cars with super cheap ones and there is a big difference with the BCs. Maybe your preload is off or something
New wheels look🔥! If you end up lowering the type r I'd go springs since you can have a less aggressive drop while keeping the active suspension. Unless you want coilovers you should go with the RSR active coilovers which keeps the active suspension while also being a coilovers.
You know your doing something good when i rather watch your video over tj hunts🤣
Dude I appreciate that
Too much clickbait and filler in TJ's videos, even if they technically have higher production value from all the cars in their rotation. I much prefer Cameron's chill and friendly style of vlogging lol.
Don't like TJ Hunt's "fitment"
It's not something most people would do.

I'm on BC Racing Extreme lows and pretty much maxed out and it rides like a charm, I have 27 clicks all around on dampening and preload properly adjusted
Thanks. I’ll double check my preload
How much camber do you currently have from lowering the car? Do you plan on getting the camber back to factory specs? Awesome build btw!
I wish I could've seen Cam's reaction 7:45
I just got bc’s on my m35 and I haven’t had any issues, they’re ride rather smooth in my opinion
Cameron, I think what might be getting you with the coil-overs is the spring rate. If it is too stiff I would think you could change them to a softer spring.
Just ordered a 2023 brz. Should get here in September! Looking to upgrade the wheels to this same fitment

i ordered a BRZ in red a month ago,and these are the exact same wheels that i am going to order for that car when it arrive's!Great choice!
Wow thats great! You’ll be very happy with the fitment! Fills it in just good enough
Nice wheels! I recently got some Enkei ts-5 in the black chrome for my 2022 brz and love the way they look
Big brake kit would look mint on the brz, also idk where you're reading about BC being poor quality?? They're the go to here in FL
Why is the Type R not in the garage out of the sun and weather? And on the side of the road? Ballsy 😉
honestly, i could see myself listening to your music on a daily basis. I love the new wheels too! keep up the great work my man 🤝❤️

The Enkei TFR turned out awesome. Did you purchase new tpms sensors? Nice outro song also!
They swapped over the stock sensors
I love the setup Cam, fitment looks pretty dang close to perfect 😍 and the wheels just go perfect with that blue, the BRZ is really coming together!
