@DoodleBean-314 Can I ask how this realisation helped you get past the depression and feel joy and confidence? I especially appreciated the story about the sunny Saturday you spent working in the sales office of your gym. I had the same experience 12 years ago-I was literally a 23 year old stuck inside selling gym memberships on a beautiful sunny Saturday. (In the US though so even more sun.) I can’t tell you how badly I wish I had the reaction you did at the time! In my case, that job left me with a number of phobias that really hurt my quality of life and held be back to this day. I can’t tell you how much I wish I had gotten this message then! Thank you for helping others learn to think about these challenges differently. I love these! I have a couple of decades on you but many I learned the hard way and can verify these are truths worth embracing. If young men truly want to be a bad ass, this is the way to get there, not some toxic manosphere rubbish.
I loved them all, especially the number 12. It was an eye-opening moment. I whistled like this little guy over here -> 😮💨 (I know it is exhaling, but it's the closest emoji that represented my face in the moment, so it still works!) - This is some revolutionary stuff right here. My dude, at 23 you are 10 times as wise as me at 36. Wish you were my mate so I could soak up these lessons in person. TH-cam will have to do! crack on mate, much respect and love to you.
Even if someone did have a gun to your head, no one can make you do something you don't choose to do. That is true power, true freedom. It is important to care about truth more than your own life. The truth being that we have the choice, others can only influence us, not choose for us.

The most important ones I learned personally are: Good enough IS good enough. Don't seek to overachieve when what you have is perfectly serviceable or you'll burn yourself on a task that doesn't require that much effort and attention. Don't let perfect become the enemy of the good is often said, same idea. Too often I got in my own way because I couldn't accept less than perfect and I would freeze or drop what I was doing in frustration when I was not doing things perfectly. and the second one is Treat yourself with the same care you do others. We always hear the reverse, but for people with excessive empathy and negative self image too often we neglect to have that same empathy for ourselves while we are more permissive to other's behaviours. This mentra is what stoped a lot of my negative self talk and ultimately self hatred. I was always trying to help others and gave people a lot of leeway to allow for mistakes and human behaviours. I was not giving myself the same respect and it in turn made me less tolerant of others because I was constantly tired due to my inner demons. By being more open to my own failings I in turn, paradoxically, became more patient with others.
9:21 What you did there actually makes a lot of sense because saying anything out loud has much more effect mentally as opposed to thinking about said thing silently. It has scientific reasons behind it but I don't really remember the details. Your positive and uplifting words that you said to yourself may not have had as much of an impact if you had simply thought about it in your head.
my Austin is future me😂 i had an awful period that lasted let's say 4 years and it seemed that no one understands me, it felt like despite of everyone's good intentions in the end I just felt judged for being unable to pull myself together and being pushed to do this or that to escape the depression. Still nothing felt right and things got worse. So I spent hours in my head explaining myself to ppl until I realized that if there's anyone who understands, that'd be me. Obviously, I was the one who understood. It was unbelievably hard for me to tell myself that I'm right. Not because I'm arrogant and like to hear only what pleases me. The need for external validation was killing me. Although I may not be completely right, I am still right about my feelings and needs. At this point I hated everyone for not understanding and abandoning me. I felt like whatever I did, or thought was not right. I got sick of that right or wrong concept. And then my imagination kicked in. A better and happier me came in my room to hug me and tell me that she comes from the future. She told me that in time when I look back to this moment everything's going to make sense. And that I'll get through it. I didn't know what she worked, whether she had a partner or not, where she lived or what she was living for. All these things were the cause of my condition back then. But suddenly it didn't matter because my future me was content and in peace with herself. Unbothered by anyone's opinion. Accepting herself, being fine with her flaws. She didn't need to be perfect to not feel guilty. She had faced all my fears and done the inner work that i lacked. She didn't fear truth. She had some sort of very basic powerful knowledge. Something so basic that it had been forgotten. I'm still on my recovery, just wanted to share about my Austin😋
Ralitsa, thank you for sharing this. I just read it all and felt a sense of joy when you described your 'Austin' coming and speaking to you from the future. I'm glad you found the inner guidance you needed. :)
Stoics understand the reality of death. You will never experience the scary nothingness version of death. You will never just be 'dead'. You will either stop completely and not be around to experience anything at all, or there's an afterlife and that's a whole different adventure. Once you fully accept this, why fear something you will never encounter.
@@SvetlanaKlamsorry for your loss! You must be left with an immense unimaginable pain that I hope I never have to feel.. I hope you can find the strength to pick yourself back up, but everything in it’s time! We will all meet again in paradise! Stay strong little warrior, I believe in you!
I really like the view you are presenting here; thank you for sharing! 😊 One note about boredom: I haven't been bored for like 20 years and I don't miss it a single minute To me boredom is a manifestation of waiting for nice things to happen And waiting... hurts. Instead, I live my life with what I have and make the most out of every moment I think I get, what you mean Sometimes I do nothing on purpose, because it allows me to get really conscious about my inner world What I need, what I feel and also finding ideas of how to get what I need So I would rather call it 'getting conscious' instead of 'be bored' What's your view on this? I'd like to hear about that 😊
Actually, if you came from an abusive family or had an abusive partner sometimes you DID have a gun to your head (maybe not a gun, but threat of violence if you did not make the 'decision' they wanted you to make). Whenever I made a decision 'boldly' I was ostracized or abused. I am alone now, but it is difficult making decisions without fear (ingrained).
The fact that you have been able to say this in such a straight way makes me admire you. I believe that if you have been able to notice this in such a clear way you'll also be able to recognize when your decisions are influenced by your past and you'll be able to liberate yourself from fear with courage. Whish you all the best!
Every decision will reverberate throughout the universe for the rest of time though because it's every decision you'll ever make it's pointless to be nervous about it like if you look hard enough over the course of yourife you'd see who you are today is the result of every seemingly insignificant thing you've ever done snowballing.
I like the idea of Austin, I know there are plenty of amazing powerful motivational women out there I can find to be my internal dialogue... I immediately thought of the actress playing in Queen of the South.. if she could rise from the ashes... (Well my rise has nothing to do with her profession in that movie) I just love her confidence.

I’m not sure but I don’t think 200k subs on TH-cam makes you rich anymore with ad revenue being what it is, comfortable..Sure! But even if he is rich now, being a successful self improvement channel and all he would still have had to apply “his teachings “ to his own life, to better himself for other people like you and me to be drawn to this channel in the first place. I know this means nothing from a random dude in a TH-cam comment section, and I know this is impossible to believe if your financial situation is in a bad place, I know I couldn’t. But having had a lot of money earlier on in life, more then I knew what to do with you quickly realise that money is just 1 problem. Yes it might be your biggest problem, it was mine for a long time and definitely most of my generation and younger generations. But end of the day it’s just another problem solved, it don’t really give you any happiness unless you find happiness in material items but if this is the case that’s problem you should focus on solving before trying to crack the code to get rich! Didn’t mean for this to turn into a long rant and If I interpreted your comment wrong then that’s a yikes, but regardless there is still a lesson there so ima go ahead a post
There's nothing crazy about Austin. Austin is your inner parent - the healthiest version of yourself, your inner compass. I believe this inner wisdom is us listening to God (we all have the ability, but we often choose otherwise). For me, I hear my Grandfather's voice. Not everyone has had a positive role model in their life in which case, they can imagine someone like Austin: an idealized version of an imperfect person living a perfectly harmonious life.
I would recommend u to watch "13 Things You Need To Understand To Go From Boy to Man - The Way of the Superior Man by David Deida". Just like this, it is a pure wisdom. Just keep gooing brotha i believe there is a bright future for your channel.
You are a very wise 23-year-old....these are 12 harsh life truths that are true. Your 23 year old self knows these truths are true, but are seldom put them into practice when you are 23. Because when you are 23 and have many harsh life truths you have to navigate. I had heard as a 23 year old that you become happier the older you become, I was skeptical. But it is true the older you become the happier you become, because you are able to put into practice these 12 harsh life truths. You need to look back on this video in ten years..and you will see you have become even happier when you are 33.

Instead, I live my life with what I have and make the most out of every moment
I think I get, what you mean
Sometimes I do nothing on purpose, because it allows me to get really conscious about my inner world
What I need, what I feel and also finding ideas of how to get what I need
So I would rather call it 'getting conscious' instead of 'be bored'
What's your view on this?
I'd like to hear about that 😊
Thank you for the life lessons :)
You deserve to be who YOU are and live YOUR life the way YOU want it. Bravery will come.
You no longer live in that environment anymore(hopefully)
Pretty much. Every time i want to do something i get belittled or utterly disapproved. I ended up only doing chores or sleeping
What a revelation SUBBED
Oh wow, you're in Bristol too! Recognised those 3 pull up bars in the park immediately 😂
Every decision will reverberate throughout the universe for the rest of time though because it's every decision you'll ever make it's pointless to be nervous about it like if you look hard enough over the course of yourife you'd see who you are today is the result of every seemingly insignificant thing you've ever done snowballing.
Your Videos make me really happy.
Have an awesome day :)
You too have a wonderful day!
More like this please!!!
Wise young man and very cool and got it worked out 👍👌
I like the idea of Austin, I know there are plenty of amazing powerful motivational women out there I can find to be my internal dialogue... I immediately thought of the actress playing in Queen of the South.. if she could rise from the ashes... (Well my rise has nothing to do with her profession in that movie) I just love her confidence.
Good stuff, but watching this video now, I prefer the new set up with your whiteboard. You might want to think about remaking it with your new format 😉
You’ve also slowed down in more recent videos. This one feels rushed/in a hurry in comparison.
I need an Austin, what a perfect idea.
Hallo Lewis, the journey of learning never needs to end. Have you any interest in Jiddu Krishnamurti. He'd be on my list of dinner guests.
Great video, no 9 was truly good!
Gracias Luis!
I love when I hear that rich people don’t want anything 😂😂😂. Thanks, I always learn something from you.
For point one, you mention stoicism.
Point 7 at 5:06 also central to stoicism. Don't worry about things you can't control.
Nice one 😊
Loving your videos!
Synchronicity... the universe has my back. Patience.
Trust.
Faith.
Love.
It doesn’t.
@@joelofty6436 I disagree completely 🙂
Listening to this one on repeat
There's nothing crazy about Austin. Austin is your inner parent - the healthiest version of yourself, your inner compass. I believe this inner wisdom is us listening to God (we all have the ability, but we often choose otherwise). For me, I hear my Grandfather's voice. Not everyone has had a positive role model in their life in which case, they can imagine someone like Austin: an idealized version of an imperfect person living a perfectly harmonious life.
Great video mate. Subscribed.
I’ll keep tip 1 in mind if I ever get found out working my espionage job

Lesson learned: Train the voices in my head
You are indeed very wise for your age
Regarding Six I came to a similar conclusion, namely 'the less i want the more i have'
You are great!
Yes Yes yes
Good vibes.
you are 23? holy crap. You will go far in life
How is it than I'm nearly twice your age yet only have about 10% of your common sense! What a great vid!!
Would love to start on your path - any good books you can recommend?
You are a very wise 23-year-old....these are 12 harsh life truths that are true. Your 23 year old self knows these truths are true, but are seldom put them into practice when you are 23. Because when you are 23 and have many harsh life truths you have to navigate. I had heard as a 23 year old that you become happier the older you become, I was skeptical. But it is true the older you become the happier you become, because you are able to put into practice these 12 harsh life truths. You need to look back on this video in ten years..and you will see you have become even happier when you are 33.
Well that gives me hope as a 22 year old! Hope it all works out for you!
OH MY FUCKING GOD I LITERALLY JUST HAD THIS MOMENT AND I CHEERED, IT WAS THE DETECTIVE CHARACTER IN HEAD!!! THANK YOU, YOU BEAUTIFUL DETECTIVE!!!! PLEASE STOP BEING A DRUNK ALCHOHOLIC DETECTIVE NOW!
