Where we live, there's been six (6) dogs dropped off right beside our in the past two (2) years. We've re-homed all of them except the last one, I kept him. He was the worst. He was starving, had lost his fur and was very weak. He thanked me for his food (by giving me his paw), and still does every time I feed him ❤

I am disabled, 53 years old, and live a very sedentary life. I have used a fat tracking scale for 2 decades. I informed my doctor my muscle mass was dangerously low. They responded with: “since you can’t exercise there is nothing you can do, so maybe you should stop tracking”
I ignored that and figured out how to maintain the muscle mass I have without using hours of exercise. I’m actually up 5%.

Possibly the section beginning 14:00 is the most valuable. Sugar in the diet is destructive to the skin. Don’t wait to learn this until you’re my age (73)- give up sugar NOW, whatever age you are. I’ve had some help from PRP treatments (Vampire facial), because I saw what it did for my doctor. Dermaflash is nice for maintenance and it gets rid of those annoying hairs that so many older women get.
I’ve never been one to put my faith in face creams, although I am currently experimenting with castor oil. Months of collagen powder did nothing.
My skin currently is looking pretty good. Carb restriction minimizes acne.

@@annhope9255 Currently, I'm 59 yo. I don't have any muscles issues. Last year, there was an icy patch on the streets and I stepped there, I twisted my ankle very badly. The doctor (I was affraid that I broke something) said that I didn't have any fracture, just the joins suffered and that if I won't recover in about two months, I might have to go under surgery. I said to myself, NO WAY! I started taking some glucosamine/chondroitin supplement (750/600 mg) and I started recovering in about two weeks, full recovered in a month. Some people said that these supplements don't work, but it worked for me.
Regarding my exercises, I had never tried to gain muscle mass, but I like to keep my muscles' tone. Nothing wrong with a jelly-like body, but it's not for me. I feel in good shape, light, and move without any issues.
My diet: I eat a lot, A LOT of salads (kale, lettuce, spinach, broccoli, crucifers, sprouts, avocado (if seasoning),...I don't put salad dressings, just lemon, sometimes balsamic vinegar). I eat a lot of legumes (lentils, black beans, chick peas (in hummus),...). I like potato salad (cooked potato in pieces, celery, lemon, and salt, YUMMY, YUMMY). Nuts with raisins as snacks (if I have time I made cookies with them). MY BEST SECRET: spirulina and/or chlorella in vegan yoghurt, the best supplements for hair growth and skin tone.
We all will age, but the thing is how we will do it. Diet and exercise are the key to have a healthy life, but been grateful and help others (humans and animals) are the most important factor to live a fulfilling life.

Please to meet you! I have worked in health care all my life, I am a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. Which mostly takes care of the elderly, but also different departments depending where I have worked in. Hospitals, Nursing homes, private homes. Well one Hospital I was at, my agency sent me to take care of a 93 yr.old lady. (She was having brain surgery the following day.)
I noticed as we were walking, that her skin was so vibrant and taunt,it was absolutely beautiful!! And I said to her," forgive me, but I have to tell you your skin is absolutely beautiful!!" YOU must have good gene's" (I had already been with her for 6 months prior) So she had told me, of course it is diet. But that her father was THE ONE WHO INVENTED THE FORMULA FOR " PONDS COLD CREAM!!" And this lovely lady was 93! But didn't maybe in her 70!!!
Now I will tell you, my mother also told me to NEVER TO WEAR MAKE-UP. Maybe a little eye makeup and lipstick, but you don't need foundations. And DON'T PULL DOWN on your skin. And use PONDS COLD CREAM. So since I was 12 I use the PONDS CLEASER "CREAM" and then the "PONDS COLD CREAM". I have used these faithfully EVERY DAY. My son will come visit now and then. And he will get close to my face and say to me" when are you going to age??" I AM NOW 69! Granted I am now just getting the "little lines" not wrinkles though. And I think I could use a little tuck! Lol but I'll never forget that beautiful lady who's father invented the formula for "PONDS COLD CREAM" When I have gone in the hospital myself, I have a chronic illness now. I have been asked what do I use on my skin because it's so soft and healthy looking, and I tell them POND! I have had alot of C.N.A. say they have switched to PONDS COLD CREAM! ( I was amazed)
Now, there is something I must also share with you. So as I was saying, I am a retired CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT. And one of the main goals in health care is SKIN INTEGRITY FOR THE ELDERLY. Well in nursing homes I used to see that they would use BAR SOAP. Which would leave the skin dry. Some patients are on blood thinners. So during morning care I would wash with warm water and lotions to the skin. But the other aids just used soap. So one day we had the administrator come and was observing the care and she noticed the skin of one lady and she asked, who did the care? The nurse said I did. She called me to the office and said" I noticed your patients skin is always so Healthy and clean looking. What is your secrets for this. And I told her SOAP THAT IS USED HERE IS DRYING OUT THESE PEOPLE'S SKIN.I SIMPLY USE LOTION! ( the homes can't afford lotions so EVERYTHING FROM SOAP, SHAMPOOS, TOILET PAPERS IS VERY ROUGH AND DRY!) EVEN at bed time they sleep better.( I have worked all shifts) .
People don't realize ,that THE NURSES HAVE BUDGETS where ever they are needed. And that ,for the most part isn't in there. So my administrator, PUT IT IN THE BUDGET! Thank you for your time.

Can vouch anecdotally for hydrolised collagen peptides. Started taking it on doctors advice for a skin condition - solved that problem, and improved the overall quality of my skin a ridiculous amount. I'm 48 and I feel like my skin "de-aged" about 15 years in a couple of months.

I really enjoyed this video. And definitely try to stay away from sugar. I do see a difference. But are we talking about just refined sugar? And there’s all kinds of mixed messages out there about sugar. What about organic fruits? Is that form of natural glucose also bad for the skin? You see a lot of information out there that fruits have a lot of antioxidants and vitamins that help rejuvenate the skin as well. It would be great to know your thoughts.

    • @FreeSpirit47
      @FreeSpirit47 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@laurienau3336 I hope you're okay with me, answering your query.
In my career, I am a polyglot, a linguist. Not a doctor or skin care professional.
Having studied health & skin care practices extensively as well as used them personally, the deluge of constantly changing information can be very confusing.
As individuals, it's important to choose wisely whom as well as what to follow, what to incorporate into our health as well as our self-care practices.
Because different substances & practices work for different people, there is so much out there! It's quite tricky to figure out what works for you as an individual. Trial & error can be expensive, also time consuming.
Here are some tips I have learned in my own trial & error that also works for most people.
      1. When sugar is referred to as a harmful substance, it mainly refers to processed & added sugars. Substances such as candy, regular sodas, cake, cookies, pie etc. even when it's claimed to have added
vitamins, anti oxidants plus other health touted additives. The bottom line is that it still has a lot of processed sugars in it.
It's much better to eat natural fruit, veggies etc as they do contain natural sugars in much lower amounts than the substances that are processed with higher amounts of sugar with beneficial nutrients.
      2. Eating fruit at its epitome of ripeness while the sweet taste is also stronger, so is its nutrient value.
      3. There are a few fruits that contain much higher amounts of sugar, natural sugar, still, it's a high amount. Some of them are bananas, melons, apples, grapes, cherries & figs. Even these are better to eat to satisfy a sweet tooth or craving as the nutrient they contain is far higher than a candy bar, cookie, cake, muffin etc.
      4. Many topicals on the market are made using small quantities of fruit, vegetables, herbs, bark from trees, flowers, minerals. Though most are laden with chemicals with names that are nearly unpronounceable. I choose to use the natural substances instead of the marketed topicals. I started this practice many years ago in order to make my face, neck & chest skin look healthy without using foundation or any correcting makeup to cover imperfections. People often mistakenly think that I'm wearing makeup to make my skin look as it does.
I do use eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, a bit of color applied to my lips along with a sunscreen gloss, that's all.
I hope that this information is useful to you.

My mother and grandmother used pure gelatin as part of their diet for the skin, and I use to take some up until I left home. So super that you rescue small dogs! I'm actually more afraid of the yippy, snippy little ones & prefer the bigger calmer dogs, lol 🐕 Although, I am thinking a smaller dog might be easier to exercise as I get older...🐩
Where I ride horses with my friends, I do see people running their big dogs in a large area besides their cars... Not fond of that method however!
My neighbor bought an electric bike to run his dog, that might work better. I think you can better gauge how tired the dog is because you're closer to them... 🏃🏻‍♀️🐶 🐕 ❤️
