Amazing ingenuity on your part, nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it , and your mind was working well that day ..spent all my day spraying so I thought I'd relaxe and watch you working...lol ❤
Damn!! I have the exact same damage on my dually bed! Couldn’t find anything on TH-cam to fix it but your video popped up out of nowhere!!👍🏽👍🏽…there is hope. Mahalo for the video ..Aloha🤙🏽🤙🏽
Very good video I’m doing repairs on one as well cuz they don’t make them but I’m using fiberglass and resin to repair and bondo mixed with fiberglass to fill in the repairs. Finally someone made a video of these fenders. There is nothing out there to show what ppl have done to repair. Thank you for the good video
Hey Johnnymidnight Do you loosen the bed side bolts to get the fiberglass wheel well out? I do have concerns of flexing the bedside too much on re+-installing after bedside has been repaired? TKS
Boy did that turn out great, nice work. Did you only use that blue stuff or after your second coat did you use traditional body filler before your primer coat??
Don’t you think fiberglass cloth and resign on the inside to reinforce it and fiberglass filler on the outside would’ve been a lot stronger ? That’s at least how I did mine
You betcha, I’ve repaired lots of bumper covers, cladding, Harley fairings and bags, all kinds of plastic with this stuff. It comes in flexible and rigid
Man that was awesome! Thank you so much! I gotta get that stuff. I want to fix my 04 Stepside. It's broken, has 2 ugly holes, one is around the taillight
Nicely done good sir, I have cracking happening at the body line just above marker lights. Most likely it was repaired prior to me owning it as the box was completely rock gaurded. I was wondering what you used to sand up the plastic filler to get it to look so beautiful? Thank you in advance for making this video as it has given me the motivation to start these repairs on my 07 Classic dually. Cheers!
life saver Video. I have to repair my fender as well. but no fenders to be found by the shop. so i'm going to try this. i do have a some questions though, like what grit was used to prep the area for the filer for the best adhesion?
hi John , as i read the box of Plastic surgery repair . it state to prime with flex primer and to clean the area with sure seal sure solv. or low VDC surface clearer. so my question is, is this a must used or is other brands ok to use?

Funny how we’ll work on cars all day, then watch people working on cars 😁😁

Cool, I hope it’s helpful 👊🏼
That turned out Great on a Budget and Ingenuity too.
Thank you for the video I got to replace half my quarter panel and had no idea what type of material I needed to use.
A repair for dually fenders that can be warrantied is a money maker. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks very much for posting these videos! They're a great help for your fellow rust-belter's. Cheers
Awesome, I’m glad you find them helpful 👊🏼
wow, that repair is perfect... looks amazing
Thanks 👍
That’s very good to know how to fix that problem thanks
Great video and great repair! I just subbed to your channel; I've been watching for a week now.
Thank you, I appreciate it!

Great job on the repair
Thank you 🙏🏼
Repaired several of those' I always drilled a series of 1/4 holes on both sides of the split for squeeze out to adhere to the fiber glass tape.
That’s a great idea, I’ll steal that for next time 👍🏼👍🏼
That does sound like a great idea!!!
Nice work, subscribed after this video, love your paint booth
Thank you, much appreciated 👊🏼
Nice job 👍👍👍
Thank you 👊🏼
Great video..I'm working on the exact bed..with the exact problem..just ordered my plastic surgery stuff. Thanks again so much.
How’d it go?
Absolutely an awesome video!!! Can I ask what is the trick of getting the fiberglass well liner out and back in without taking the bedside lose?
I loosen pretty much everything you can reach in order to get those out, always a pain in the butt….🙃
Hey Johnnymidnight Do you loosen the bed side bolts to get the fiberglass wheel well out? I do have concerns of flexing the bedside too much on re+-installing after bedside has been repaired? TKS
Yes, I loosen pretty much all the bolts up the front that I can reach, but they’re still tricky
Best video on these bedsides. Great job
Thanks for the info ..good job!
Boy did that turn out great, nice work. Did you only use that blue stuff or after your second coat did you use traditional body filler before your primer coat??
Thanks, completely done with the flexible plastic filler, I try to never use regular filler on plastic, cracks too easily if it flexes
Don’t you think fiberglass cloth and resign on the inside to reinforce it and fiberglass filler on the outside would’ve been a lot stronger ? That’s at least how I did mine
Nope, they’re not fibreglass, a flexible filler is necessary,or it will just break away if bumped again
I'm thinking it could be used on plastic bumpers ?

@@Johnnymidnightwe’re would you purchase the blue epoxy?
@@FullyautozI get everything from Lordco auto parts

I usually just sand it with 120 at a fairly low speed, the dominion sure seal plastic surgery sands pretty nice
Nice job looks as new. ? do you think that Dominion plastic repair will work on a vinyl dash crack
I never considered that, but I bet it would, the stuff is pretty awesome
Nice work:>)
Thanks 👊🏼

100 grit is typically what I use 👍🏼👍🏼

Totally fine to use other brands along with it👍🏼👍🏼
Do you have the exact part # for the product you used? I see that brand offers many different types. Please let me know.
XPST/4008, that’s the flexible one 👍🏼👍🏼
@@Johnnymidnight Thank you sir!
There’s 2 places I’ve found that still make them, one in Cali and one in PA
Ah, good to know, no longer available from GM
How many kits did it take? Thanks
I believe I used 2
@@Johnnymidnight thanks! Have a duramax bed to repair hope ot turns out as good as this one
I’ve repaired several with this plastic surgery, and have never had a problem, for what it’s worth, I highly recommend it 👊🏼
do you have trouble heating the shop and paint booth when the cold weather arrives? Canada brrrr...
I have radiant heat that works well, but it’s an awfully big area, and an old shop… working is fine, but once it’s 25-30 below it’s too cold to paint
what was name of flexible plastic filler. I have both sides to do?
I use Dominion Sure Seal plastic surgery, 3M also makes a comparable product, yes, backside definitely has to be reinforced
@@Johnnymidnight lol both fenders to do
Where did you get that plastic surgery stuff from?
I get all my stuff from Lordco auto parts
You need to put out some new videos, I binge watched your other videos
Cool, thanks! I try to have a video every Friday 👊🏼
How much to do that to my same truck
Every repair is different, can’t say without seeing the vehicle. This one was a while back, I believe it was around 1500 range
