PLEASE, PLEESE, PLEEEZ, re-create th bohemian granny squares and stripes sweater vest the Goldie Hawn wears when she leaves and then returns in Butterflies Are Free. The colors are mostly deep red, dark blue but not navy I think red heart has a Soft Navy (that pairs really well with light raspberry btw for an old time look) and either antique gold or a tan color like buttery leather; it may be yellow that I'm seeing but you know how it is when you put some colors together they appear to be a different color? My eyes are not as good as they once were and even though I am looking at a big screen TV I can't catch all of the details because I can't manipulate the light/brightness on it. @@BreathingYarn I think that sweater vest actually would look amazing on you, mind you, don't make the arm holes too small - unless you're strictly going to wear it as a sleeveless shell/ tank top.. I think this movie was done in the earliest '60s and back then the shirt sleeves were skinny up around the armpit and so were the sweater vests. When the 70 came around sweater vests were still kind of tight in the armpits and the shirts were getting looser so it would pinch up the shirts. If they were on a communal Farm the women did farm work and all of the other stuff , whereas the men did some work in the fields and then came in and did the pre mentioned stuff. P.S. towards the end of the movie, sorry for the spoiler, she is leaving and she does walk around the apartment talk to him and you can get around about look at the sweater from several angles front back and sides then she leaves and then she comes back and the lighting is different and she has different action that shows different places in the sweater. I can relate so hard to challenging myself to make recreations of knitwear from media. I recently made a copy of the yellow turtleneck that David Bowie wears in the music video for I'm Afraid Of Americans. My next is the raglan fisherman rib sweater from the James Bond movie The Living Daylights.
The sweater turned out so gorgeous, you look amazing!!! I was looking for a next project and I might have to steal your idea lolol. Also I love your recreation videos!!
You've got a great combo of talent and skills! If you decide to write the pattern, I will make one of those for myself! Also, money on cheese is always well spent. (Your tomato red sweater is beautiful on you. Your color palette has to be True Spring.)
You’re so sweet! Thank you. And I am planning to slowly start learning how to pattern write so I can start releasing some for these recreations. I want to make sure I can write a decadent pattern that’s size inclusive and ideally easy to follow 😂 might be a minute before I’m ready
Hi again :D It's me with another dopamine hit. I am the same with sleeves, but what's weird is that I like to have them long when I'm walking around, I like to be able to pull my hands all the way inside the sleeves but then when I'm walking I end up pulling most of my clothes up past my wrists cause I can't handle having things around my wrists when I'm working!
Hello, Isabella, I like very much the way you recreated Rachel's sweater, your sweater also looks super and I like the combination of colours too, is special and it works very well. I'd like to recreate too some pieces that I watch in TV shows. I'm curious if you watched the excellent series "Only Murders in the Building", is very good and interesting and Selena Gomez is wearing some gorgeous knitted sweaters and cardigans in the show, I think there are hand made. Thank you for this episode too, your energy and ideas are so inspiring! 😊🤗❤
😊 I was a Teenager in the 90s and we all wore that Jumper. At least in Switzerland. Of course not selfmade. You did a great job! It's just for a person my age.... why would you bring that back 😅 guess 70s children asked themselfes the same thing as we tried to recreate theire clothing
I love knitting and crocheting, but making clothes stresses me out. This video just reconfirms that, even though it's enjoyable to watch, lol. I'm sticking with blankets, hats, and scarves. Lol.
When one of the episodes of 30Rock where they go ice skating, Ravelry blew up with knitters trying to g to recreate Liz's scarf. So many of us want to recreate items from media!
I'm sorry, but the first shot of Merry(?) followed immediately by you kneading that black yarn into water had me going HUH??? for a split second because my brain connected these two shots and thought you were washing the cat lmao
I'm kinda interested on how close to the original film the musical adaptation is. Musicals tend to tone down things quite a lot but I've heard the original 80s film is a pretty hard watch
Do you have any tips for setting aside several hours for knitting on weekends? I also work full-time and end up having to focus on chores/recovering from the work week on weekends.
Therapy mostly helped me. I had to decide the apartment didn’t have to be perfectly clean all the time. It was (and still is) hard to shift my priorities there. I also used to scroll on my phone for an hour a day. I deleted those apps and now have a spare hour of my day. It’s nothing really magical/revolutionary. You’ve likely heard all this before. It is hard for me to accept that I can’t actually do all the things so I have to decide to do the things most important to me. I can’t cook dinner and clean and kick butt at work and knit a sweater and squeeze in a workout all in one day. Some things had to go.

That’s so awesome! And iconic
Wowza, I want to make that sweater now!! Just gorgeous!!
Do it!
The sweater turned out so gorgeous, you look amazing!!! I was looking for a next project and I might have to steal your idea lolol. Also I love your recreation videos!!
Thank you! And I hope you do, I stole it from the show 😂
@@BreathingYarn 🤣 I'll tag you on instagram when I do!!
Hell yea!
You did amazing ❤ I absolutely like the stripes ❤ also your shaved had pictures were really cute too😁
Omg thank you!!! I miss being a no hair lady often 😄
Also, I totally want to make one of these. My dream is to recreate the oversized sweater that Rory wears in the first episode of Gilmore girls.
I’m pressing like before I finish the video because of the cat hahah
This is her channel, she just lets me talk in the background 😂
I love your cat ❤
Hello, Isabella, I like very much the way you recreated Rachel's sweater, your sweater also looks super and I like the combination of colours too, is special and it works very well. I'd like to recreate too some pieces that I watch in TV shows. I'm curious if you watched the excellent series "Only Murders in the Building", is very good and interesting and Selena Gomez is wearing some gorgeous knitted sweaters and cardigans in the show, I think there are hand made. Thank you for this episode too, your energy and ideas are so inspiring! 😊🤗❤
Thank you. And I love only murders in the building. The sweaters in that show are so fun and beautiful. I’d love love love to make one of them!!!
😊❤️
😊 I was a Teenager in the 90s and we all wore that Jumper. At least in Switzerland. Of course not selfmade. You did a great job! It's just for a person my age.... why would you bring that back 😅 guess 70s children asked themselfes the same thing as we tried to recreate theire clothing
I feel the same seeing teenagers around me wearing clothes from the early 2000s and I cringe so hard 😂
@@BreathingYarn 😂
I love knitting and crocheting, but making clothes stresses me out. This video just reconfirms that, even though it's enjoyable to watch, lol. I'm sticking with blankets, hats, and scarves. Lol.
That’s how I feel about blankets. I’ll stick to happily watching someone else make them 🥰
When one of the episodes of 30Rock where they go ice skating, Ravelry blew up with knitters trying to g to recreate Liz's scarf. So many of us want to recreate items from media!
OMG yes. I remember in high school, all of my friends were really into Dr.Who and everybody wanted a Dr.Who knit scarf!
I'm sorry, but the first shot of Merry(?) followed immediately by you kneading that black yarn into water had me going HUH??? for a split second because my brain connected these two shots and thought you were washing the cat lmao
LOL!
I'm kinda interested on how close to the original film the musical adaptation is. Musicals tend to tone down things quite a lot but I've heard the original 80s film is a pretty hard watch
Me too. I haven’t seen the original yet but the musical still dealt with some heavy scenes while keeping it pretty digestible.
It turned out great!! How many skeins of black did you use? :)
6 or 7 I think
@@BreathingYarn thank you! 😊
when you got to picking up the sleeves i was like "oh, it's almost finished". and then i looked at the timestamp and it was 12 mins out of 40 :|
Do you have any tips for setting aside several hours for knitting on weekends?
I’m watching 90210 reruns, and the illustrious Kelly Taylor also wore this sweater in episode “Up In Flames” 🤍🤎🖤
That’s awesome 😂
