    I am a Big Law and Order Fan. I watch the Episodes from Reruns on TNT and other Network. I thought I have seen all the episodes of the Original Series. ("The Original is Still the Best") I don't remember ever seeing this episode. For some reason, have they stopped this episode from being Rerun until every recently?

      The most famous private clubs in NYC actually predate Prohibition by decades. The oldest existing one is the Union League, which was founded in 1862 (brother of a similar club in Philly that was formed by supporters of the Union during the Civil War). Knickerbocker club started about a decade later by members who were unhappy with Union club because it wasn't "exclusive" enough, allowing too many "lesser" elites in. While I'm sure some became the equivalent of speakeasies for some, it was basically a way for the very rich and powerful (always white men) to gather in secrecy in affluent surroundings - and they still continue today

      @Long Schnozzed Tribesman That was my family - I'm related to Major Gen. John Rawlins, who was Grant's aide during the Civil War (then became Sec. of War in Grant's cabinet). Yankee blue and true. (By a strange twist of fate, most of the Rawlins branch were Mormons, which is strange because John Rawlins established the anti-Mormon policy for the Utah Territory)

    The dialog between Greevey and Logan outside of the house reminds me of what happened in real life with John Gotti. The story here and real life aren't the same but the similarity makes me think it's no coincidence.

    Here we see the prosecutors office commit a serious crime by ordering one of their people to trump up charges against someone in order to arrest him. if this was discovered the entire case would be lost.
