Thanks for another great real-world review. When I was a younger man I spent many years with a sport bike as my only ride and used it for everything: commuting, multi-day tours, chasing my buddies around the twisties, and everything else. I no longer fold up so easily but still like one for an hour-long blast in the mountains. Thanks again.
Nice review - thanks for posting. As an owner of a black one I'd like to add that the hill hold (a wonderful feature!) can be easily disengaged by simply pulling once on the brake lever and then you can pull away like normal. Also, the standard (non m seat) is much more comfortable than the M seat (I have both). One last point is that I've never had a false neutral on mine (just over 1,000 miles done) so may be just needing more miles riding in.
Remember the black models are the fastest! 😀 - the false neutral thing is just BMW boxes (I’m an owner of an RR and previously 2 x R’s) and ever modern BMW I’ve ridden seems to do it to some degree however it sounds like you’re one of the lucky ones!

Just wanted to say thanks and appreciate the time you've put into the content, this video has been very informative. I'm the type who will ride no matter what the weather is so long as a I avoid public transport. Even if its a 30-40k bike. Will get my money's worth as a daily commuter and weekend warrior. This video has me sold on the S1000RR as hopefully the last and final superport before I get too old and I feel like my back is going to break just commuting on it.
Got mine right at the start of the pandemic... Standard + all the various packages, making it the same as the M-sport except for the carbon wheels and the saddle. The normal saddle is softer, but it still reminds you that it is a sports bike after an hour or so. Pet peeves are very similar to yours: buzzy-ness at higher speeds, vibrating mirrors, finding neutral can be a bit annoying when the bike is cold, and said saddle. Otherwise use it as my only bike; so everything from puttering around in the city to multi-day tours. No issues with any of that. Overall comfort is amazing for the class, but on long stretches (3-4 hours without a break), you do start to wish for more padding. Regarding luggage: BMW offers some soft cases that can go on the back. You need to select the rear seat instead of the plastic cover, and the bag then slots over it and is strapped down. Think top case instead of paniers. Use it when I go to sports, and it has enough room for an additional helmet and some extra stuff. Personally prefer a rucksack for touring though, as the large bag just make it feel less balanced. For day-to-day use I have the small BMW 1-litre tank bag that you can click onto two small pegs on the tank, which is perfect for wallet, phone, earplugs, etc.
Another great, real world review. Undoubtedly a fine bike although not really my type of thing. It might seem like a small point but it's good to see BMW fit right angle tyre valves. Why don't all manufactures do that, it makes life so much easier. I've had them on a couple of Honda's but sadly not on either of my Triumphs and with the spoked wheels my 1200 Scrambler is a absolute pain to get a air pump onto. Personally I'd have rather had right angle valves than the pointless keyless ignition!
Hi Gareth, As you may be aware, low cost aftermarket screw on nineties are available - mine just sits wrapped in a rag, under the seat, with a good quality tyre gauge (no rattles) and good to go, every time I need to pump air in.
I was never a fan of the asymmetric headlights on the previous incarnations. This shape and design however has stolen my heart, I will buy one, but only as a second bike. Great review TMF 👏🏻👍🏻
Re the hill hold: - if hill hold is on, just briefly pull the brake lever and it should toggle off. That way you can relax in a hill, and just before you pull away, turn off the hill hold and not stall it! Keep up the good work!
this review really does as good a job as possible capturing what it's like to have one of these! and all in 25 mins what an excellent resource for people interested in this bike 👍

Typing from Downunder. I have a S 1000 XR. Talking of the Hill Hold. When one is ready to "take off" (lol, flying ref there) an alternative is to squeeze the brake lever AGAIN and the Hill Hold releases. Useful if one is not on a steep incline, as one then starts off in the usual way, i.e. using the rear brake. The Hold has served its purpose, while one waits. I use Hill Hold for long stops, e.g. traffic lights, road works' traffic lights or lollipop person and on inclines, but use the second squeeze to drop the Hold, and so avoid the problem you mentioned of having to "give it" lotsa revs, to "break" the Hold. So, this is an option to consider using, some of the time...
Nice one - I own a 2019 M sport that I've had nearly a year. Absolutely love it and love your review style as your original vid helped me decide to purchase :) I've taken it from the south coast to the mid Wales coast a few times, and on the ferry to Ireland last summer which was ace (as long as you travel light).
@@TheMissendenFlyer Was great -despite the rain! Luggage was just a backpack, seems silly to load a bike like this with saddlebags when there are better options for that, but I was lucky to visit family to recharge and not need a huge amount. Probably not as easy to do camping style, but I am hoping to repeat this summer and do a longer trip down the west coast of Ireland. Having said that even the 45 minute burn for a lunchtime or evening ride is excellent!!
Nice review! Just a small heads up- get some insulated sectional garage doors. They make a huge difference to the warmth and you wont have to wear a hat or jacket in the garage. I use my garage as a gym as well as storing my bikes and cars in the depths of winter in scotland and i can wear t shirts!
Good review Andy, your good self and Chops and Teapot seem to get the same bikes to test but the different styles between you make all of you a good watch, im craving a Tuono v4 to keep my KTM 1290 sas company if i ever come back from Thailand, all the best :)
Just found this video and many thanks for a review of what most use machines for....while many enjoy the track, we can't live like that on everyday highways on our way to and from work etc....hence, your vid really helped deciding what machine to get to travel around as an agency HGV driver...
Just bought my 3rd S1000RR and mine is the M sport, can't wait until the weather gets better. Regarding the luggage situation, i purchased a passenger seat which has two luggage loops underneath and funny enough it has the mountings to add an extra two just like the old bike had, took it along to a local upholsterer to have the straps riveted into place. This is then perfect to strap on Kriega soft luggage but remember to protect your paintwork with some rubber webbing from the pound shop.
What a bike, could possibly be my next bike if I don’t go for the street fighter v4s, great editing on the video also mate, looking forward to the next one.
I have that bike and great review. I tested against last gen V4s and it was the ease of riding even on broken and muddy Buckinghamshire roads that sold it to me. I'm 6'2" and found the stock screen too low. I added a double-bubble but still find it quite noisy on the motorway. It is one of the most comfortable bikes I have owned.
I have a 2018 V4S. I test rode the new S1000RR and handling felt amazing. Much better than the V4. I haven’t ridden the newer versions of the V4 though and I know it’s meant to be improved.
Great review, Andy. Beautiful bike even if it's not quite my thing. I'm glad I held on to the end: "You can ride it like a puppy!" Too funny. Hopefully the RSPCA aren't watching!
Joyful review, I belive this is a good all round sports bike that as demonstrated can do anything. I would consider one's of these instead of my dream bike aprilia rsv4
I’m glad you mentioned that you could tour on the bike, so many people think you can’t comfortably tour on a sports bike and that’s just flatly false. I tour all over the southeast United States on a CBR500R and have no issues at 55 years old. If you keep yourself fit and really work on your core it makes a world of difference. So many riders are not in shape or don’t keep themselves in shape it’s just sad to see them not choosing a sports bike because they aren’t fit, even if the sport bike is really what they want they “settle” on something else
Now you have got me wanting another bike! Can I suggest you try the Bike Shed for your next SCRAN, amazing venue, best breakfast ever (although bit pricy)
Just love the way those LED headlights show up at night on the Go Pro. So amazed!! Certainly agree with their coverage as shown, both on DIP and on FULL!! As for riding, your English roads are so restrictive, both in view and space, comfort and safety. I wish you were able to test ride the bikes at speed on the Algarve coast or San Francisco west coast roads or in NZ!! Or on an open section of flowing corners with safe margins - oh, the TT roads in Ireland!! You do your best with what you have at the back door!
Great video. I do use mine for touring and it is excellent at it. Luggage wise I use the Ventura system. To stop the expensive seat cover getting damaged, I bought a £20 fake carbon look one off eBay. Just put this one when using the Ventura as not bothered if it gets scratched. Would recommend the standard seat as better padding and also the M endurance chain. Your comment on the protection from fairing is spot on. I find the design directs the wind around the grips and makes keep back of hands warm a lot easier. Find the protection from the screen better than the one on my F900 XR. Mine is just Sport version and not the M Sport so has standard wheels
Awesome vid! The backlit button thing is rather interesting. As I always say if a beginner KTM bike can have backlit buttons, any bike can. :) The BMW looks incredible though and thank God they have symmetrical low beam/high beam lights unlike some other superbikes.
Watched this video again..I took a Panigale v4s and s1000rr for a test ride last week..Still can't decide 🤔..Panigale beautiful aesthetically..but my gut thinks the S1000RR is the better package..Their finance is 3.9..Ducati 9% Great video again 👏
costs sheds loads of money painful to ride after an hour. Got to go somewhere more than an hour away may want to consider another option. Thats probably an indication of engine vibration, or rough suspension. my ducati has no vibration and I can ride it 5 hours straight no aches or pains
Great looking and sounding bike, and definitely worth looking at if you are in the market for a sports bike. The lights look awesome, and the smooth change from dipped to main beam is something else, but I can't get my head round spending northwards of £20k, and throwing it around on a track day.
Hi, 7 year ametuer AMA racer here. I can tell you first hand 20k for a base platform to work on is CHEAP. I was sponsored by fox racing and Timex and it blew my mind how much money they poured into my 13 GSXR 600 AND 1000. Its my belief the S1000RR was meant to be for race teams first, street folks second. For track only, I'd still go for the Japanese offers if I wasn't part of a team. MUCH cheaper to run.
The lithium ion battery is directly under the seat. The seat is easily removed - just fold back the foam at the rear centre of the seat and you will see an allen key bolt - well its not an allen key but can't think of what the other type is called. Undo that bolt and pop up the seat from the rear and it just comes off. No nasty clips that are easily broken etc - very simple. Have to be carefull not to let the bolt fall into the innards of the bike though so that's about the only thing that needs watching.
I was in the BMW dealership a couple of days ago and this bike is massive…very tall, and being 5’10” with a 30 inch inseam I would have issues riding this bike. Looked great with though. Great video Andy…ride safe 👍
I’ve always lubed the chain on the bottom run on the inside where it’s in mesh with the sprockets…….. just a thought. Love those carbon wheels and blue callipers👍
This looks like an amazing bike. Went to the Manchester bike show today and try as I might to get comfy on any sports bike I just couldn't. Sat on the new Panigale, beautiful machine.
@@TheMissendenFlyer a bit of a let down if I'm honest, a lot of big names not exhibiting including Triumph and Honda. Got the bike out for the first time this year though and got a new IOM 2020 helmet so not all bad news
I can't imagine I'll ever own a sports bike of this calibre, but I really enjoy your in depth reveiws. Glad to hear that you also don't like wet roundabouts! I thought it was just my relative inexperience that made my bum twitch!!
I ride/commute on a RR and it’s ridiculous for the road, it’s performance is so outrageous that you can’t use 50% of it without getting into very serious trouble! I love the bike for its amazing ride, unbelievable engine and looks but I think I like it most because it’s so wild it’s an experience to ride even though I have to exercise mucho self control!
Excellent review considering you're riding a caged tiger let out on a leash. At my age, what an impressive ride to be on when hitting the local donut shop!! Waiting for my 3rd and last bike- a 310gs, out of 15 to arrive., but what stories I could tell on the way to the pokey. Lol 🏍🏍🏍👍🙋♂️
When testing the lights at night please go through some corners in the dark. I have found some modern bikes are terrible in corners at night. Love your work.
I've got the sport s1000rr 2020. It's got the race mods. Didn't see light battery and carbon wheel needed as not a pro racer lol. Love my bike. So many people put it down as it had its recalls. Mine had leaky brake calipers. Got replaced straight away by bmw. I did 305 miles first day and I didn't feel any pains or discomfort. I no it has it cheap plastics but that keep price down. So us normal people can afford one lol. Ride safe and maybe see you riding around soon 👍🏼
Nice video Andy. Shame BMW did not fit the new S1000R naked with the same twin lights as fitted to this S1000RR. I saw the S1000RR in a BMW add in a beautiful metallic green [the same green as on their new M series cars I think] and what an improvement to the bikes looks. I wish they offered it in the green as a standard colour. Keep em coming mate as particularly at this time of year not much is happening. Roll on the spring/summer.
Great review. I have this bike and I have put over 6K miles on mine. I can't disagree with anything you have said. At first I was very suspicious of the smoothness and handling, but after a few thousand miles, it feels like an extension of my body when I ride it....you just think it, and the bike does it.
I absolutely agree. I can understand that on genuine sports bikes, a centre stand isn't a viable option, but infuriates me that on many chain driven bikes of different genres, they are only offered as an expensive optional extra, rather than a standard fit. Unfortunately nowadays manufacturers are obsessed with including pointless frippery on bikes, that we don't need and charging extra for basic things we actually want.
@@AG-ti6cp That's all very well, but unless you want a Guzzi or a hyper expensive tourer, there's not exactly an abundance to choose from. It always surprises me that, with all the advances in technology over the years, bike manufacturers are still using the same chain drive, with all the maintenance that comes with them, that we've used for nearly a century.
Good review and pretty accurate, one thing that really bothers me is the sound of this bike it sounds so ticky and tappy I have one and at first thought there was something wrong but they all sound like it standard, defo needs a full system
@@TheMissendenFlyer Thank you I sold my 899 panigale for it as I can’t warrant have 2 sports bikes Is there bike that would temp you into doing the same?
11:35 I'm always riding your neck of the woods ....on a bicycle though. This ultra modern stuff is something else. The electronics are amazing with its bells and whistles. But if your not doing track days on it " brave" then yes on the road you probably using 25% of potential. On my very old Fireblade maybe 60%. So what you wasting your money on!!! Do you know Dermot Lynch?? Oh they do a tank bag and tail bag for the bmw.
As an owner of a M-Package as demo'd in the video I've ridden it through the winter on some dodgy dirty Devon roads that are covered in mud. For me, it's easy to get on with as I'm a shorty (5ft 7") so comfort isn't a problem. The M seat is supposed to be harder for ease of moving around on track, but I've not had any comfort issues so far. SW-Motec make some soft case panniers. I've got a set, they're brilliant. All in all, it's a brilliant bike and far better looking than all the others in class. Even your beloved Ducati :)
That's is really a sportsbike to consider even if you 're not into sportsbikes! I would really like to see a review of the Speed Triple RR which looks like something more 'earthly'. Cheers
i want one ,I really do. Everything is just right for a last bike. Although im not sure about the chain drive having been now for some time very use to shaft drive. It's the bane of regular adjustment that says stick too what your happy with. The R1250 does not exactly fit the need so i guess ill have to bite the bullet and work out my at home maintenance.
I opted for the pillion package ( rear seat + rear pegs) a no cost option even though I never carry a pillion passenger firstly because I frequently ride with heavy rucksacks and did not want all the paint of a painted rear cowel getting all scratched and then the rear pegs which come in handy as extra tie downs if the bike is being carried in a trailer etc and a handy fixing point for my tax disc - yes we still use tax discs in Ireland. Also I think all that white in the tail looks a bit awkward - the black rear saddle sets the rear off nicely as do the rose gold (same as engine casings) powder coated rear peg stays.
You know you're going to be entertained and informed when you hear the "HEY KIDS!". Seems like a terrific effort by BMW. Too pricey and fast for this old bugger though, I'll stick with my Duke. Great Review.
A beautiful bike and one I'd have on my wish list if I were in the market, great review and always very informative. I'm of two minds abut the backlit switchgear Andy, Ducati and KTM have them on their range and I'd agree it's a bit of a shortcoming from BMW, though could just be one more thing to go wrong?!
I never had a bike where, after a while, muscle memory didn't set in for using the buttons and switches so I never felt the need for back lit switch gear. That being said I only ever had one bike at the time so maybe that is the differentiator here. With regards to the lack of center stand, please allow me to refer to my own video "No Center Stand? No worries!" where you can see a simple solution to the chain lube issue. Cheers
To remove the riders seat, there is a single bolt with a T25 head underneath where the M logo is on your seat. You'll have to pull the fabric of the seat forward to get to the bolt, and then once the bolt is removed pull up on the rear of the seat and then the front will come off.
Mr. Flyer, a small tip for you, when checking engine oil level through a sight glass is to put an old style telephone directory {not the Liliputian new ones} under the sidestand. You can then easily pull the bike towards you until it's level, bordering on teetering but it's safe enough. Anyway, at today's prices for bikes, I'd sooner get crushed than drop one.
you don't need a helper or a book it's perfectly simple just to grab the nearside handle and balance the bike upright. I do it all the time we all know how weightless a bike is when vertical
@@motoshan Some bikes have nothing other than the handlebars with which to tug the bike off its sidestand, or hold it vertically afterwards when crouching to look through the sight window at near eye level. Try not to be a know-all critic. May I respectfully suggest that you simply and quietly piss off ? Thanks very much.

Love all your reviews keep up the great work bill near durham
Thank you Bill - very much appreciated!
Love it.. looks so awesome.. great review TMF.. you gotta find spec for one of these in the garage 😀😀🤩👍
Tell me about it Pete!
Lovely bike. Great video as always boyo.
Thank you!
Joyful review, I belive this is a good all round sports bike that as demonstrated can do anything. I would consider one's of these instead of my dream bike aprilia rsv4
Yes there are some top notch sport bikes out there at the moment, but of the current crop I think this is close to the top! Thanks for watching….
Like your reviews, please add to the check list heat from the engine exhaust especially in stop and go traffic
I could t agree more - a bit of core strength and not being over weight is the key!
Well indeed....
Nice! Thanks for the great insider tips too!
Absolutely sensational machine. Perfect for when you need to ride to Bulgaria and back in a hurry!
another great vid andy real world thank you
My pleasure!
Great review Andy 👍and what a gentleman... apologising for wearing a hat! 🤣
Thank you kindly
Enjoyed the video would like to see you review the 2024 model.
Good thorough review as usual.
Thank you Grant....
Awesome vid! The backlit button thing is rather interesting. As I always say if a beginner KTM bike can have backlit buttons, any bike can. :) The BMW looks incredible though and thank God they have symmetrical low beam/high beam lights unlike some other superbikes.
Agreed!
I am pretty sure some LEDs could be retrofitted inside the switch gear after market.
What a great review! I just bought one. What a machine :)
Isn’t it just! Congratulations!!
Watched this video again..I took a Panigale v4s and s1000rr for a test ride last week..Still can't decide 🤔..Panigale beautiful aesthetically..but my gut thinks the S1000RR is the better package..Their finance is 3.9..Ducati 9%
Great video again 👏
Andy you're too polite, apologizing for being cold at the start of the video lol 😂
It's a lovely looking bike like the view from the front with both lights one instead of the one dip and the other high beam... great review. 👍👍
Thank you....
costs sheds loads of money painful to ride after an hour. Got to go somewhere more than an hour away may want to consider another option. Thats probably an indication of engine vibration, or rough suspension. my ducati has no vibration and I can ride it 5 hours straight no aches or pains
Best stick to that then!
Brilliant review. I own a S1000RR and one of the finest sports bike ever. Only gripe I have is that it lacks a soul and does not drama.
Ride it harder , I have a 20 model and it has all the drama I could wish for. It’s mental!
That usually means it's fantastically designed. You never hear a motogp winner saying his bike lacks drama.
Great honest best review of this bike .can u review the 2022 ducati v4 s please .
I’ve always lubed the chain on the bottom run on the inside where it’s in mesh with the sprockets…….. just a thought. Love those carbon wheels and blue callipers👍
Cracking looking bike. Only minor point that lets it down are those 'orrible welds on the rear trellis frame...
Very good review, enjoyed that 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Pete….
This looks like an amazing bike. Went to the Manchester bike show today and try as I might to get comfy on any sports bike I just couldn't. Sat on the new Panigale, beautiful machine.
Isn’t it just! Was the show good??
@@TheMissendenFlyer a bit of a let down if I'm honest, a lot of big names not exhibiting including Triumph and Honda. Got the bike out for the first time this year though and got a new IOM 2020 helmet so not all bad news
Really wow - i wonder why they didn't go....odd!
@@TheMissendenFlyer maybe the change of dates and venue leading up to it
I’ve just ordered one, looking forward to it!
Congratulations!
Great video .realy thinking of getting this great machine looks and goes really good must make some room for it .great content in video 😎😻😸
Great review again. It'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on its sound compared to other supersport bikes as well
Good review Andy! 👍
Cheers Steve - always good to have you along!
Lol 🏍🏍🏍👍🙋♂️
What an awesome review
Thank you kindly
Great in depth assessment as usual and I love the outtakes. I didn't see jackets hanging on a gas pipe did I?
Nope you didn't - they are on a pole suspended by hooks into the rafters if you look closely.
When testing the lights at night please go through some corners in the dark. I have found some modern bikes are terrible in corners at night. Love your work.
Noted - will see what I can do! Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
Nive one Gary!
Cheers Boz - willco!
Good review and that is a very nice looking bike.
It really is!
Great review. I have this bike and I have put over 6K miles on mine. I can't disagree with anything you have said. At first I was very suspicious of the smoothness and handling, but after a few thousand miles, it feels like an extension of my body when I ride it....you just think it, and the bike does it.
Glad we concur Mark, thanks for watching!
Lights good, I nearly always move forward as you can not see anything. But the lights at night, well the best I have seen on any bike you have ridden.
Yes they are cracking lights!
Great review of the s100rr
No centre stand on a bike is a game changer for me. I've struggled without one before.. never again 😒
No modern sports bike comes with a center stand.
Buy a shaft drive bike, don't need one
I absolutely agree. I can understand that on genuine sports bikes, a centre stand isn't a viable option, but infuriates me that on many chain driven bikes of different genres, they are only offered as an expensive optional extra, rather than a standard fit. Unfortunately nowadays manufacturers are obsessed with including pointless frippery on bikes, that we don't need and charging extra for basic things we actually want.
Centre stand on a sports bike?
@@AG-ti6cp That's all very well, but unless you want a Guzzi or a hyper expensive tourer, there's not exactly an abundance to choose from. It always surprises me that, with all the advances in technology over the years, bike manufacturers are still using the same chain drive, with all the maintenance that comes with them, that we've used for nearly a century.
Good review and pretty accurate, one thing that really bothers me is the sound of this bike it sounds so ticky and tappy I have one and at first thought there was something wrong but they all sound like it standard, defo needs a full system
I’ve just picked mine up and can’t wait to get out riding
Congratulations!
@@TheMissendenFlyer
Thank you I sold my 899 panigale for it as I can’t warrant have 2 sports bikes
Is there bike that would temp you into doing the same?
At the back of the seat is a torx T20 screw, when you get it off there’s a battery and some electronics underneath. No space for a finger of fudge.
Thanks for the clarrification!
Great second review tmf love the bmw rr its perfect for the road and track I think you need this bike in you garage thanks from danny
I'm not sure I need it in my garage but I sure would like one!
Thanks to u I was not looking at the BMW now I am
Sorry!
Love the dipped beam I assume Both light up which look better, does it have cruise control
Yes it does!
Well I'm not so sure about that but it sure is an amazing bike I agree!
That's is really a sportsbike to consider even if you 're not into sportsbikes! I would really like to see a review of the Speed Triple RR which looks like something more 'earthly'. Cheers
Yes I'm hoping to have a go later in the year!
i want one ,I really do.
I will copy a TMF line… “BMW has the best tft display. A great bike. Good review
Be my guest!
Excellent review my friend. Have you done a review of the BMW M. S, 1000 R .
Sadly no’
I opted for the pillion package ( rear seat + rear pegs) a no cost option even though I never carry a pillion passenger firstly because I frequently ride with heavy rucksacks and did not want all the paint of a painted rear cowel getting all scratched and then the rear pegs which come in handy as extra tie downs if the bike is being carried in a trailer etc and a handy fixing point for my tax disc - yes we still use tax discs in Ireland. Also I think all that white in the tail looks a bit awkward - the black rear saddle sets the rear off nicely as do the rose gold (same as engine casings) powder coated rear peg stays.
Very interesting and great points worth considering Rodger - thanks for sharing!
You know you're going to be entertained and informed when you hear the "HEY KIDS!".
Seems like a terrific effort by BMW. Too pricey and fast for this old bugger though, I'll stick with my Duke. Great Review.
Thank you!
Another good vid Andy. BMW now do chains which don't need lubed so one less thing to worry about ,
Yes I've heard about those - do you think they actually work!?
@@TheMissendenFlyer according to BMW yes
Cheers
Cheers Nick - I’ll check that out!
To remove the riders seat, there is a single bolt with a T25 head underneath where the M logo is on your seat. You'll have to pull the fabric of the seat forward to get to the bolt, and then once the bolt is removed pull up on the rear of the seat and then the front will come off.
Got it -cheers!
Hi mate, don’t think i could do that machine any justice but what a stunning looking bike. Kind regards.
Cheers matey!
Front wheel chock
you don't need a helper or a book it's perfectly simple just to grab the nearside handle and balance the bike upright.
