Just came to this island yesterday, i hadn't seen the movie before hand and decided to look it up. I dont understand all the comments saying its an average island. This island, and the entire bay, are insanely beautiful, and have been a highlight of my trip so far.
I remember seeing this movie ages ago. Sean Connery was my favourite Bond. Went on the James Bond trip a week ago. It was very well arranged. Rather than booking it online, go to Phuket city and youll get it much cheaper.
@@Mark-lj1dj Not exactly, Thai tourism has been established in good shape since the late 60s. That James Bond island has already been one of the destination promoted to the local Thai tourists but still not associated to the James Bond movie. The real name is Koh Ta Poo ( crab eye island).
It was the guy who owned the plane. Apparently he flew it all the way from America to that location (in a series of many legs I imagine). He refused to lend the plane to the movie unless he got to fly it
@@joelouden6592 if I'm ever in Washington State I will have to check it out. I hope the plaque next to the aircraft mentions Bond lol. The only Air Museum in America I have visited was is Tucson Arizona. Next to the "airplane graveyard" in the desert.
@@Mark-lj1dj I doubt that tiny plane can cross either Atlantic or Pacific on its own power. You can't make it done even with many rest stop like a sitting duck on the ocean.
I love the ending. After seeing that Bond didn't kill Nick Nack but just locked him up in that basket where he could enjoy the view and get some fresh air, haha... "Have no fears, James Bond is heeeeeeeeeeere" 😎
I'm leaving the island as i'm writing this comment, the island is nice but not breathtaking, i think having some james bond movie scenes shot at the island is the only attraction that they use to lure tourists there otherwise its just a normal little island.
Msizi Nkosi Phang Nga Bay is breathtaking, James Bond Island is just a tiny island in the bay, or national park. Yes, people come here because of the movie. Thanks for your comment.
I thought it was spectacular, the massive cleaved rockface alone was something I’ve never seen before. What were you expecting that wasn’t delivered during your visit?
Was there today. Total failure! The rock is ridiculously small, 300 THB to set foot an a miniature beach where the water is green and murky. Waste of time.😢 Phang Nga is a beautiful bay. The "James Bond Island" a tourist trap.
