At the age of 14...back in 1961, I was in the local library, looking for maybe a mystery to read...Suddenly, I stumbled across Casino Royale, and leafed thru the book...amazingly, I found a description (so tame by today's standards!) wherein Bond was seducing a woman!...this was hot stuff, to me!...I checked out that book, and over the next couple of months, read a few more of these fascinating action books! I told my friends about them, but they scoffed at me. I had the last laugh, when, with great synchronicity, the Bond film, DR NO, came to town!...I was absolutely redeemed in the eyes of my friends, and we made sure, over the next few years, to take in the newest Bond films. When Connery first hit the screen, he was the very "type" of Agent that the books had etched into my mind...I could not believe how he matched my imagination ! I was hoping to somehow grow into the physical specimen that Connery was...that did not happen, unfortunately!
I would probably include the parkour chase from casino royale, Goldfingers, "A martini, shaken not stirred", Oddjob vs Bond, The exploding pen, Bond being poisoned in casino royale, Tracy's death, the tank chase, The opening of Casino Royale, "that's a waste of good scotch" definitely more
Oh man the tank scene from goldeneye, I originally watched this movie with my brother when I was 8. From the moment Brosnan used his grappling belt I was hooked. Then he crashed through the statue and had the horse riding like a damn valkyrie on his car and I lost my shit. Goldeneye was my first bond movie and I fell in love with Bond and Natalya and their chemistry. Such an amazing film
Don’t know if you have ever had Macallan’s Scotch before but it’s so damn smooth. I can see why it sells for hundreds of thousands of dollars a bottle.
It’s not necessarily modern but one of the most realistic fights in the series as stars Sean Connery and Robert Shaw performed their own stunts for the fight. Their fight has replicated in other ways in the Bond series as Bond henchmen have been shown through out series to similar to Grant with being muscular and with Blonde hair.
The "fight scene" in the motion picture "From Russia With Love" that occurs on the train is useful as a study. It is this opinion that when combat reaches the point when stakes are very high with peril being only a moment away, the thrust of a knife unless it is a jugular or very real stab to the heart would not of stopped the strangulation from succeeding. We are not talking about acrobatics we are in fact talking about two very determined enemies trained as it were in mortal combat. It is this opinion that Grant would of won and Bond would of been killed.
The news here about said that Ian Fleming was seriously considering "killing off" the James Bond character in "From Russia With Love". Though this is but an opinion That may explain why "From Russia With Love", is recognized as one of the best James Bond films. There are some pretty serious fight scenes and a number of close calls that the motivation to perhaps kill off the "James Bond" character may off made this a better film.
Greatest James Bond opening was the Spy who Love Me. After a ski chase he jumped off the cliff and the parachute opened into a British Flag. Half the theater jumped to their feet and were screaming wildly!
Probably but with Moore I always saw his stuntman doing those things in the first place - as the clumsy british gentleman type (the Churchill of all Bond Actors - No Sports! Just look how he stands there at #19 that's ridiculous :D ) I never took him serious and stopped looking Bond Movies after his second appearance until Dalton (ok as interim solution) and finally Brosnan arrived. Connery will always be the true Bond for me with Brosnan right behind. Craig does a good job but the producers lost track with the franchise. What do you guys think about Christian Slater or even Henry Cavil (see Solo for Uncle and last Mission Impossible) as the next Bond ? Guess Slater would be too old by now and Cavil would render Connery's style and physical presence in a modern way...
Papa D. would take us downtown on Saturday, we'd get a sirloin steak dinner then go to a James Bond movie. I can remember the fresh smell of popcorn, Shirley Bassey singing and that opening scene so well. Thank you Lord for a wonderful childhood and parents that loved us.
There are still a few cultural ties between Britain and USA. They are slowly disappearing but things like Bond memories show how much we have in common..?
I like the list but sad that Tracy's murder in OHMSS was excluded. Certainly the most important episode of Bond's life, and the only time we see him utterly shattered by the violent world he inhabits.
Yeah, I agree, she was the one true love of his life, and even I was saddened when I saw it, but, it also provided those who are true fans confirmation as to why he was like he was with regards to bad guys and some women he encountered from that point on. SHAME that modern producers/screen writers CANNOT or REFUSE to see it about 007 and so, call him a 'Misogynist' and all the other 'Woke-words) 😒😒😒 😎🇬🇧
The scenes from Goldfinger and Dr No and the fight with Robert Shaw in From Russia with Love are aces. The fight with Shaw is one of the best in the whole series, second only to the opening fight in Thunderball.
If you observe, it was actually Sylvia Trench who says it in the iconic way first before James Bond copies her style. She says "Trench, Sylvia Trench" to which Bond responds with "Bond, James Bond". So in a way, it is her, the woman, that should be commended for making Bond epic and iconic. Behind every successful man is a woman indeed!
And before entering the house he says: 'Guten Abend', and 'Bitte'. That's German for 'Good evening' and 'please'.They're in Amsterdam, Holland; he should have said: 'Goedenavond' and 'Alstublieft' (in Dutch). (BTW, only the outdoor scenes were shot in Amsterdam, the indoor scenes were shot in the studio. Those old Amsterdam canal houses are too narrow to have elevators).
#1, and Goldfinger's "positively shocking" and Odd Job's golf ball crunching scenes (#7) are my favorites. The earliest Bond films with Connery are still the gold standard. I remember seeing Goldfinger first run - the theater audience went wild.
Personal favourite Bond moment: the QUANTUM opera sequence from QOS (2008) , grandiose and violent, good vs bad moment. Some hate that film but that moment rocked for me.
That Goldeneye one always makes me laugh. I can't help imagining the bolt slipping out of the concrete just as Bond is nearly there, and him being twanged back over the dam into the lake.
LOL, loved the "oops, wrong scene" bit at the end. It was a good way to juxtapose both the historic beginning of the franchise against its arguably lowest point (though I think Jaws falling in love in "Moonraker" may be top contender for that honor).
I'm one of those weird ones who's favourite Bond is Daniel Craig... Now before everybody goes on with telling me to gtfo, I'd just kinda like to explain why.. Regardless of my age, I've watched all of the James Bond movies because it's just been something that I've always been interested in as a kid. I've loved ALMOST every single actor who was given the honor to portray him on camera. But the soul reason for Craig being my favourite is that no matter if all the stunts were done by CGI or stuntmen, I find the character more believable in a way. The plots also seem to just have more in them... And personally, I prefer Craig's acting quality and style-of-bond a lot more than others.. Again, my opinion is probably FAR from the popular opinion of the public.. But you know.. :) Thanks for listening :3
Jonathan Mitchell You prefer the acting of Daniel Craig to Sean Connery? I think you are being a little biased here because you are indeed young and things that are more modern appeal to you. If you read the books it is true that Bond was a no nonsense Man who didnt take any prisoners, he was ruthless, If you watch Connery in his first outings as Bond he was ruthless also, hitting Women to get information ect ect, " Shocking, Positively shocking" in Goldfinger is a perfect example of this chauvinist quality that should be appreciated because it brings realism to the story and in the era the stories were based in these themes are relevant. Also I agree that Craig is also playing a ruthless character but to me the last Bond films that he has acted in are no more than modern action films. Lets hope they can do something better with SPECTRE. In my opinion the truly last great Bond film was Goldeneye ( Pearce Brosnan was great in his first outing and the rest of the cast were terrific and reference to The Lienz Cossacks and our Betrayal of them after WW2 makes the film great in my opinion). Sean Connery is Bond and that is the end of conversation. ( sorry )..................Also one last thing" If you watch Goldfinger, which in my opinion is the Greatest Bond film ever, no question about it, at the begining of the film just before " the positively shocking moment" he comes out of the water, stips off his wetsuit and when he takes out the first casualty of the film he runs away, just as he runs away you will see him do a little skip with his feet. I suppose the majority of people will think " who cares if he does a little skip with his feet" but to me and I am sure to many other true Bond fans it is these little gestures and mannerisms that set Connery apart from the rest. Go watch Goldfinger and be sure to watch BOND do his little skip just before he arrives in the Bar. PRICELESS "
This is a pretty decent list, and I had a good chuckle at the fake # 1. Here are a few other scenes that I love from the series: Goldfinger: The introduction of Pussy Galore Diamonds are Forever: Bond climbing up the hotel building. The chase scene in the parking lot. Tomorrow Never Dies: The parking garage chase scene with Bond operating his car in the backseat by remote. The motorcycle chase The World is Not Enough: The opening boat chase, Q's exit in Desmond Lewellyn's final Bond scene. Skyfall: The first confrontation between Bond and Silva.
The stunt man who did the ski jump with the Union Jack parachute is a legend. The ski jump, the torture scene with Lechiffre, the aston martin crash in casino royal and the intro of Quantum of Solace are legendary for me. Casino Royal and Quantum are the only Bond movies i watched in theaters, great experience. I can't wait to get the same feeling when i watched this car chase in Italy, with that incredible one liner:"Time to get out"
I just wish that #3 would have went a little longer. The best wit of that scene is when Honey asks Bond if he's looking for shells too. "No, I'm just looking."
Coming here after the travesty that is the latest offering..it's nice to be reminded what Bond is really about! Also that number 1.. haha you got me!! 🤣
Love the attention to details, like the one Bond torches a snake with a custom made flame-thrower, but the fluffy white carpet the snake was on remained pristine white 😂
R.I.P Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Richard Kiel, Michael Lonsdale, and George Carlin I miss Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Richard Kiel, Michael Lonsdale, and George Carlin so much. Sean Connery and Roger Moore were both awesome and great James Bond actors, Sean Connery did a brilliant job as James Bond from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, and Roger Moore was an excellent James Bond actor in Live and Let Die and Moonraker. I also love Michael Lonsdale, Richard Kiel, and George Carlin. Michael Lonsdale as Hugo Drax was a great bond villain in Moonraker, Richard Kiel as Jaws is my favorite bond henchman, and Moonraker along with You Only Live Twice are both the most underappreciated bond films of all time. George Carlin was the best American comedian of all time and Jammin' in New York from 1992 is my all time favorite George Carlin special.
Goldfinger has 3 entries in the Top Ten, deservedly so.. Best Bond movie in my opinion and Oddjob was badass. The top two quotes.. most memorable ever “No Mr Bond I expect you to die” “Bond James Bond “
Actually, my top 2 as well...."No, Mister bond, I expect you to die!" from the best Bond ever, Goldfinger. As well as the classic number one without question - "Bond...James Bond" while casually lighting a cig.
@@IronWolf277 My point was that there are no duds in the series, like all the crap Roger Moore Comedies. Believe me, I am a dyed in the wool Bond fan, I actually read many of the books when they were first published. Saw all the movies first run, from "Dr.No" on...P.S. Sean Connery IS Bond. James Bond.😁
There is one you missed: bond who emerge from sea in scuba diving suit, when he take the suit off he wear a smoking! It is a pivotal scene in spy-action movies that has been reproduced several times.
Maddeleine Agata la scena in cui Bond riemerge dal mare e si toglie la muta da sub è famosissima. Non la conoscevi? A parte osteologia, colori dei capelli improbabili e ripetere in modo assillante domande quali sono i tuoi hobbies?
Scene 2 will always be remembered as the first time Bond seemed (was) scared enough to have bladder control issues, understandably too. Meanwhile in that whole scene, Goldfinger was shown to be immensely enjoying himself 😂

Rubbish list.
It's odd that with all the money they spend and the special effects, they just can't recapture the aura of Connery at his best

Those are all good, I would have definitely included the "That's a Smith and Wesson. And you've had your six" scene also.
Yeah, this fan didn't add anything good from the new movies. Daniel Craig is the best there was. He still fucked women and played poker lol
Car chase in Die Another Day
Don’t know if you have ever had Macallan’s Scotch before but it’s so damn smooth. I can see why it sells for hundreds of thousands of dollars a bottle.
Connery's fights were always much more realistic. The fight on the train in From Russia With Love is very modern.
There are some pretty serious fight scenes and a number of close calls that the motivation to perhaps kill off the "James Bond" character may off made this a better film.
quint robert shaw killing by james bond
Lazenby was better built than connery and his fights were vert realistic.
Greatest James Bond opening was the Spy who Love Me. After a ski chase he jumped off the cliff and the parachute opened into a British Flag. Half the theater jumped to their feet and were screaming wildly!
This was in Britain, I assume?
@@dantemikado9381 hahaha, i don't think they do be screaming out loud in...say Chile...lol
I was there for the same moment in the UK. Though in retrospect Roger Moore now seems like a very clunky James Bond.
opening propagande U.K...! style Brexit !
Good stuff. Had forgotten how great many of these scenes were.
This is delicious. Pure James Bond paradise; fondly-remembered moments and no dumb narration to marr it. PERFECT 💪🏆🥉👑
I liked the ski chase in On Her Majesty's Secret Service when the fellow went into the snow blower and Bond says, "Well, he had a lot of guts."
The guys performing that chase were actually members of the Swiss national team, some of the best skiers in the world! :)
The James Bond Films will always be classic Iconic Movies.
60 years ago. What amazing photography and stunts. Nothing like it since
My sentimental favorite has always been "That's a Smith & Wesson. And you've had your six."
I don't get this. Can you explain it?
@@CRyan71 Watch Dr. No. You will understand.
Excellent fake out just before the real #1 scene. You got me.
Honorable mention to the classic scenes between Sean Connery's Bond, and Moneypenny, particularly, when he flung his hat to the coat-holder.
For me and many others the one and only genuine James Bond will be for ever Sean!!!Rip!
I'm so glad Sean Connery was the top 3! He was the original and the best!
Anthony S. I was wondering in the beginning of this video where Sean Connery was! Made up for it at the top of the list.. 😊❤️
yh well that's the last you'll see of him cause today he passed away at the age of 90 😭 💔 🙏
I'm an early 90s baby, I love all bonds but Pierce Brosnan has a special place in my heart
For me it was Dalton and Craig for their personifications of the character per the novels.
sadly
I agree ! His delivery of one liners
was impeccable. And he was
good looking and smooth..!
Can't believe "It's a smith & wesson, and you've had your six" isn't even on the list
Considering he smoked in all the Bond movies, it 's a miracle he reached 90.
6:45 Director: hey stuntguy, ready for next scene?
Stuntguy: no no no no no...
😂
Papa D. would take us downtown on Saturday, we'd get a sirloin steak dinner then go to a James Bond movie. I can remember the fresh smell of popcorn, Shirley Bassey singing and that opening scene so well. Thank you Lord for a wonderful childhood and parents that loved us.
There are still a few cultural ties
between Britain and USA. They are slowly disappearing but things like Bond memories show how much we have in common..?
Sheriff J.W. Pepper (Live & let die) the dock scene where JW says "Secret agent, on who's side?" Should be on this list & high up
I like the list but sad that Tracy's murder in OHMSS was excluded.
SHAME that modern producers/screen writers CANNOT or REFUSE to see it about 007 and so, call him a 'Misogynist' and all the other 'Woke-words) 😒😒😒
😎🇬🇧
The scenes from Goldfinger and Dr No and the fight with Robert Shaw in From Russia with Love are aces. The fight with Shaw is one of the best in the whole series, second only to the opening fight in Thunderball.
24:00 A great stunt ruined by a ridiculous sound effect.
yep
The director later regretted using sound effects for that scene and has since apologized.
In a nut shell, this is a great example of why that film is one of the poorer ones.
It’s a reference to another film, (Smokey and the bandit)
You'd think they'd take that out
You only live twice, Mr. Bond. Love it!
"I speak English. Who is your floor?"
Red floor. And then theres 3 bricks of floor to grou d
Danial Craig’s movies were very good, BUT they were not Bond movies. Sean Connery WAS Bond.
EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR #1- The first one is still the best, never bested..ever.
That fight between Sean Connery and Robert Shaw in the train was epic !!! 23:23
Fyi, that's Robert Shaw in "From Russia With Love", he was also Capt. Quint in "Jaws". Outstanding actor. And that #1 pick is right on.
Wow, I didn’t know that thanks
Holy shit, that's crazy
Great actor as you said. he also played Henry VIII in A Man of All Seasons, he was Lonnegan in the Sting and a really good writer as well.
James Bond is one of the greatest movie characters of all time IMO. No superpowers,CGI bullshit, etc. Just intelligence, wit, and a Walter PPK.
That's WALTHER, Ferrari guy...
@@peoplehavetherights, I'm sure he's waiting with baited-breath for that correction ;-)
I believe it was/is a Walther PPK/S.
The fake #1 was quite a CGI effect - and a poor one !
His superpower is, he can have 20 machine guns firing at him at close range and never get hit.
That Goldeneye one always makes me laugh. I can't help imagining the bolt slipping out of the concrete just as Bond is nearly there, and him being twanged back over the dam into the lake.
That air plane scene with cargo net straining out the back is awesome.
LOL, loved the "oops, wrong scene" bit at the end. It was a good way to juxtapose both the historic beginning of the franchise against its arguably lowest point (though I think Jaws falling in love in "Moonraker" may be top contender for that honor).
Yeah I had that in mind when I started compiling the list, what is the worst moment came into my mind and I added that :).
Thanks for watching :).
Aw, don't diss Jaws, he was the man! :(
ThinLynottFan
Oh, Jaws was great; it was what they did to him in Moonraker that was unforgivable.
varanid9 yea jaws falling in love was just terrible
varanid9
Thanks for listening :3
Ferigeras Thank you so much for restoring my hope in the Bond fanbase :D That actually just made my day :DDD
Ferigeras Ayooooo!! xD
Jonathan Mitchell Craig is my favorite Bond too o//
Jonathan Henrique Rodrigues I'm not alone!!!! Thank you!!!! :D
PRICELESS "
Who could ever forget the Union Jack parachute? Hilarious!
For Your Eyes Only, is my favorite Bond movie. Thankfully I have all the Sean Connery and Roger Moore Bond films on DVD. Thank you.
This is a pretty decent list, and I had a good chuckle at the fake # 1. Here are a few other scenes that I love from the series:
Goldfinger: The introduction of Pussy Galore
Diamonds are Forever: Bond climbing up the hotel building. The chase scene in the parking lot.
Tomorrow Never Dies: The parking garage chase scene with Bond operating his car in the backseat by remote. The motorcycle chase
The World is Not Enough: The opening boat chase, Q's exit in Desmond Lewellyn's final Bond scene.
Skyfall: The first confrontation between Bond and Silva.
Ill add the DB7 Ejector Seat scene in Goldfinger
2:32 "I won't ask again" and yet he asked her 2 more times .
Weak Bond , very weak .
+Fahad Alazraqi Haha, very good! :)
+OttoSwede Bond is never weak. 007 saved my life!
+Fahad Alazraqi Brosnan was a good Bond with bad movies
+Fahad Alazraqi What do expect from the weak-ass Bond Pierce Brosnan?
+Audioquest56 a weak ass Craig that's what you expect.LOL
Even though it is 2020, I somehow love 'Goldfinger' the most!!
I can't wait to get the same feeling when i watched this car chase in Italy, with that incredible one liner:"Time to get out"
I am agree 100% number 1-> Bond, James Bond, the only scene in the world you can not see the actor, only the CHARACTER.
I just wish that #3 would have went a little longer. The best wit of that scene is when Honey asks Bond if he's looking for shells too. "No, I'm just looking."
Sir Sean Connery…..amazing actor…..great loss. Have a wonderful continuing existence wherever and whenever you are Sir Connery.
The Style: Connery
The Charm: Lazenby
The Humour: Moore
The Darker Side: Dalton & Craig
The Action: Brosnan
Hvem tror du at vi to kan du kan du godt lide den
agree, but still all those things belong to each of them too, just in a different amount :)
brosnan has all of them!
+Ed Conrad Dalton wasn't wimpy. He was badass. And Brosnan was the smooth Bond. Silly?? How dare you!
+Movie Guy Brosnan is the best of them all!
Dang, on the same month (september), Jaws (Richard Kiel) and Ourumov (Gottfried John)...
Two of my favourite villains...
REST IN PEACE!
Ursula Anders coming out of the water in Dr. No should probably be the #1 moment.😅
Her name is Andress. And she did.
There was was ever one REAL James Bond. Bless you Sean Connery!
"I never miss" my favourite Bond quote
25:18 This was the first one that came to my mind when I saw OttoSwede's favorite 23 moments, thanks for putting the time into this, great clips!
Yeah I know
Coming here after the travesty that is the latest offering..it's nice to be reminded what Bond is really about! Also that number 1.. haha you got me!! 🤣
Love the attention to details, like the one Bond torches a snake with a custom made flame-thrower, but the fluffy white carpet the snake was on remained pristine white 😂
Robert Brown was so great as M
"We're not a country club 007!"
That stunt guy doing the parachute jump at 21:30 was mighty lucky that that ski bounced off the chute instead of getting tangled up in it!!!
R.I.P Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Richard Kiel, Michael Lonsdale, and George Carlin
I miss Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Richard Kiel, Michael Lonsdale, and George Carlin so much.
Great Moments!!!
From the Legendary James Bond Films...🔥
I Always Liked Them!!! From a young age...🤔
Prolonged Applause!!!
Thanks!!!
Goldfinger has 3 entries in the Top Ten, deservedly so.. Best Bond movie in my opinion and Oddjob was badass.
The top two quotes.. most memorable ever
“No Mr Bond I expect you to die”
“Bond James Bond “
Best character name. Pussy Galore
How about the iconic "vodka martini.... shaken, not stirred".
Wat Dis do i look like i give a damn? (Casino royale)
I don't give a damn.
Actually, my top 2 as well...."No, Mister bond, I expect you to die!" from the best Bond ever, Goldfinger. As well as the classic number one without question - "Bond...James Bond" while casually lighting a cig.
"You'd miss me." *Bang* "I never miss!"
As a French Man i would Say the best James Bond 007 is obviously Sir Sean Connery!!! Forever!!!
i laugh my ass off at the die another day scene i knew it was a joke lol the #1 is definetly one of the greatest character introduction ever!
The ski parachuting scene is a top moment!
The best running film series of all time!
CarlitosWay277
Till they killed the entire franchise with a female 007.
@@livinglifeoutdoorstv6550 There were plans for Lashana to be agent 007, but now she 001. Only Bond can hold that number! Good change i feel
Even though "Mission Impossible" is a lot better, without so many duds (Like ALL the Roger Moore abortions)
@@MeanGeneSanDiego M.I. is good, but its only a 6 film series currently. Tom Cruise won't be playing Eathan Hunt forever
You picked the right #1 it is iconic and did start a trend with this classic line.
that train fight in From Russia with Love is incredibly brutal, for a 1963 film. One of the best fight scenes
I loved the Thunderball underwater divers fight and Moonrakers space fight
"Call him off, I won't ask again!"
Immediately asks twice.
The Grant and Franks fight scenes are my favourites from the bond movies, raw intensity. Glad to see them on the list!
The worst Bond scene with that absurd surf scene with a complete buffoon ... compared to the best suave Connery scene, no contest; you nailed it.
There is one you missed: bond who emerge from sea in scuba diving suit, when he take the suit off he wear a smoking! It is a pivotal scene in spy-action movies that has been reproduced several times.
+Calogero Huygens Rispondimi
Maddeleine Agata la scena in cui Bond riemerge dal mare e si toglie la muta da sub è famosissima. Non la conoscevi?
A parte osteologia, colori dei capelli improbabili e ripetere in modo assillante domande quali sono i tuoi hobbies?
Yes.🎉❤
moonraker the end was the best "whats bond doing now?" "attempting re entry SIR!" i was kicked out the cinema
Scene 2 will always be remembered as the first time Bond seemed (was) scared enough to have bladder control issues, understandably too. Meanwhile in that whole scene, Goldfinger was shown to be immensely enjoying himself 😂
