      @Cest.La.Vie.. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      They hate to add any more weigh on their N - maybe after they put an engine with more than 300+ hp. For the same reason even the Kona N is not with AWD option.

      I'm pretty sure this is already faster then a WRX. Maybe not from a dig but everywhere else.

      They would have to make it lighter to counter the increased weight of the awd system. It handles quite well for a fwd car by people taking it to the track.

    As someone who has driven both cars several times(6 speed manuals) and a fan of both, I have to say the VN is the better performing car when it comes to cornering and acceleration. For whatever reason the EN struggles to keep the power down and suffers from a lot of wheel hop. The VN also has some but to a much much lesser degree in my experience. With that said, even though I do dig the older (6 o clock) analog style gauges in the VN, the EN interior is overall nicer place to be with a pretty badass infotainment system. Again I’m a fan of both vehicles at the end of the day.

    How does the transmission on the DCT model work when in SPORT or N Mode, as far as shifting throughout the rev range? Is it left entirely to the driver to upshift and downshift at any desired point throughout the range (as if driving a true manual transmission), or does the onboard computer interfere with driver input at certain revs if no input is detected from the driver?

    • @damienfrizzell9394
      @damienfrizzell9394 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In auto mode you can over ride the dct with paddles but will revert back to auto if you don't make any more shift inputs after a while. Or you can select manual mode where all shifting is down to you.

    You didn't show us if the Elantra has the same spider web style graph as the Veloster n that allows for adjusting dampers, exhaust, steering, engine, trans, E-LSD, and ESC or is the Elantra set up different? How did you skip that??

      @reginaldboyd8665 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @Daveyboy_GolfR
      @Daveyboy_GolfR 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@reginaldboyd8665 well I was watching it on my phone and all those adjustments with the three little red bars are in the top right corner. Problem is he mentioned the brake pressure, oil temperature and everything else on the screen and completely skipped discussing the most important part which is all the features that can be adjusted from very comfortable too much more aggressive. I just watched another video viewing the mk8 Golf R from raiti's rides, and he completely skipped the custom screen, so anyone who isn't familiar with the mk7 golf R which I own, they would have no idea that so many different things can be put into either comfort normal or sport settings independently.
      He had the Eco, comfort, sport, nurburgring, and custom screen open on the infotainment so he could choose what driving mode he wanted and went straight to nurburgring and didn't even click the custom screen to showcase to the potential buyers, what the mk8 Golf R has in terms of adjustability. Does it have an active exhaust? Adjustable dampers, engine, DCT, adjustable levels of the elsd? Adjustable steering? A 26-minute review and not once did he even take three seconds to just open the screen and at least let people see how the screen is laid out and what options can be customized, or while he was driving it, he kept it in nurburgring which is the most hardcore mode the whole time, instead of switching to full comfort to determine if there is a big difference in the steering weight, and the damper compliance and how quiet the exhaust gets etc.
      Yes at least this guy dad quickly passed by the screen and landed on it for a few seconds, but those 8 different features that have different adjustments is one of the main reasons why you spend an extra $10-12k on the N than a regular elantra. That's one of the N performance line most important highlights and he only verbally mentioned how he can change the tune of the exhaust. Anyway I actually just finished leaving a comment on the review of the golf are not even 5 minutes ago, so I thought your reply was about the MK8 golf R.
      I was so damn confused for a minute until I realized you were replying to a comment I made months ago, and not three minutes ago LOL. Sorry for the long reply... I was just venting cuz that other reviewer was literally the worst. The car was gorgeous tho in white with the 19in new Wheels! It is so much nicer than my mk7.
      I tell myself that this one is way too much money, but the fact that it does 0-60 in a blistering 3.9 seconds Stock with launch control and the DCT, when I think about how much money I spent on exterior and performance mods on my mk7 Golf R. It probably would have come out to the same in the end, except that was hitting 60 in 3.5.
      Problem with the mk8R is the touch capacitive buttons on the steering wheel are always getting accidentally tapped while driving according to every Auto journalists including the heated steering wheel and the heated seats. It's a real problem. Anyway sorry I got off topic.
      I've got to see an Elantra in person because I love the interior so much more than the Veloster n and I really don't like the exterior of the Elantra N but I may love it if I see it in person so I'm waiting

      But they forget to include an LSD on the K5 GT and neither AWD option. Also does not have summer tires like on the Sonata. Big mistakes, to much power that you can not put to the ground, hopefully KIA/Hyundai addresses this concern on 2024.

    Korean cars lack the sporty design and cool factor. Whoever is signing off on the car design just doesn’t have the “eye” for what is cool. I don’t like any of the models and I don’t like the name Hyundai. Change the name, logo and car design and Hyundai could sell 10x. But, Korean stubbornness and management hierarchy will prevent a paradigm shift in their deliverables.

      You realize the 2018 Elantra outsold the civic? Secondly, the person “signing off” on these designs is two people: the person who designed the Bentley Bentayga and BMW’s M designer… I think you’re really shooting outside of your league with these comments

      @@filipmastilovic617 then why in California 65% of the cars are Japanese and every parking lot, I see about more than 50% of cars are Japanese made? I rarely see a Hyundai or Kia and when I do, it’s probably 1 out of every 5000 cars are Korean made. Korean cars in the 90s were a joke. The Hyundai exelis and gls were horrible vehicles. Hyundai is a lot further along then 20 years ago but they still are years away from the Japanese automaker. Most people would rather have a Toyota or Honda car. There’s nothing wrong with that. There just better looking cars and are built better at this point.

      @@rtrrr7215 you realize too they’re literally right across the ocean from each other? So of course there may be more but even then your numbers are shaped by your own personal bias. Hyundai’s cars (aside from the civic in the years leading up to 2017-18) have looked better than both Toyota and Honda. Especially this year, Hyundai is going very much down the sporty path as they have been since 2020, meanwhile Toyota is doing the same thing they’ve been doing for 20 years, and Honda has gone BACKWARDS with that boring flat civic made for families. I think your personal bias needs to be checked before you critique one of the biggest auto manufacturers in the world
