I have had my Xperia PRO-I for 3 weeks now and it's definitely been a better experience all-round then my Xperia 1-ii.
The camera is a greatly improved thanks to the 1.0 type image sensor even though it isn't using the full size like my RX-100-VII.
Looking forward to where Sony goes next with the next iteration.

yeah it is an amazing evolution of sony. i personaly hope they will focus more on everage users with software updates and computational power. but that is me. myself i got the 5ii and i really love it but can deffinitly have some more user friendly software on the camera especially. it also misses some futures some other brands have that are just so nice to have. who knows in the future hehe

I had the S9+ before, and if I remember correctly, you were able to pick between the two apertures manually. Of course, computational photography smarts back then weren't as good as it is now, but the point still stands.

Got Xperia Pro-I for a month.
Amazing. I DO reccomend Turning OFF stabilization in Settinngs, so you get OK stab, but with no blur when panning and etc.
The best scenario for these is to get Osmo mobile 5, or just holding phone tight and steady while shooting, than you'll get best quality. Also in MC24PRO you can get even more. Files from there also look great, very close if not the same as from my ZV1. In the end of the day, don't forget, when you comparing camera to a phone, that you are Getting A phone and a Camera at the same time pretty much, although not as good as seperate camera, but not far away. Here in Russia it costs 200 bucks cheaper than 13 Pro Max 512GB, so for me the price of these phone is more than reasonable, at least here.

The hotel in LA looked really cool & I liked the blooper reel on the end of the film. You make a very good point about the sweet spot between owning a phone and digital SLR camera to capture and share photographs/movies. Is it a 60/40 split between owning and using the phone and digital SLR? There is a price for portability and quality, camera, phone and laptop is expensive. Great real world test though.

After a couple years of use my phones are kinda beat up and ready to be replaced. $1800 bucks is more than I want to spend on a phone every couple years. Have a wonderful holiday!!

It's 1.0-type instead of 1"-type. Even if they are going to use the whole sensor and keep the similar thickness, the image would still not be as good as the RX100 series. Maybe the next Pro-I series can have a thicker form factor to allow a better lens and larger battery size.

Just got my new Sony Xperia pro I for about a week now, downside, no wireless (obviously they wanna keep it slim as possible), heating is still a problem (it kinda melted my leather case that came along with the phone just a bit but still a big impact. (Wish Sony addressed this, cause when I used their XZ lines over heating was major issue during recording a clip) otherwise, I love the PRO I. A smaller 6.5” is a nice change for the hands. Picture quality is awesome. Hopefully Sony decided to use their new double stacked sensors in their upcoming phones

Thanks for this. Was interested in your thoughts. Although it was unlike your normal tests where you show good zoom shots etc. Up till now noone has reviewed the entire camera package like they do on most phones. No idea why. While I know you were traveling the video seemed rushed and the Sony wasnt given the benefit of a real day in the life review you normally do. That's too bad. One thing reviewers aren't considering yet is overall cost. I just bought the Pro-I (for 1600) because it gets me two-thirds of the way to an Alpha camera and 99 percent of the way to a Walkman, all in something I carry everyday in my pocket and works as a normal phone. To carry a good phone, a Walkman, and a camera separately is two to three times the price. An S22 Ultra combined with the required Galaxy Buds Pro is $1600, and that doesn't take pictures as well or sound nearly as good. An equivalent "mp3 player" is $1200 alone. With that in mind, this phone is not that expensive.
Finally, if I can get 5 years out of this phone it will be equivalent in cost to buying the crap mid-price phones each year that I've been buying since the headphone jack was removed from high-price phones. I hope Sony provides software support for a good long time.

Yes definitely I'm interested to buy Xperia phones over point of shoot camera No squabble...
Addition of Picture profile so important, hopefully SONY adds this on either in Xperia 1 iv or Xperia i2.
One inch sensor, SD card, Mic Jack, Variable apature & 70-105mm lens will win it for SONY surely. I also wish Sony would implement one button recording which super important in emergency situations.

The price is of course high, but ultimately the question was whether the S22ULTRA with a contract for €400 Or Pro i for €599. There was also €200 cashback for my old S7 from Sony. I find the decision easy. I had the S21ULTRA before and the Pro i is simply better.

☆☆☆☆ Never owned Xperia phones before , going by positive reviews I would like to give it a try by ordering Xperia 1 IV which is currently on the pipelines.
Inclusion of following will persuades me to switch from Samsung to SONY,
☆ integration/incorporation of SD slot expandable memory, ☆Headphone Jack, to edit or insertion of sound tracks into video also using proper headphones instead of gimmicky bluetooth ones.
    ☆Sony Apps and 70-105mm telephoto.
🔥 I hope SONY incorporates more customizable buttons even in the apps, Variable apature & a Bigger sensor (closer to 1 inch) Or a set of faster lenses to help in low light situations, improvement in Auto mode in particular would certainly blow all other competitions out of water and hopefully Sony takes the Crown in smart phones industry.

Pixel Non-pro was the best out of the 4. As for the Sony: terrible battery life

$1800 is too much but considering it shoots 4k 120fps is like having a hybrid baby a7siii. Though not a night shooter as a7siii but it comes with its own features combined all together from sony cameras and its phone. Wished they made it real full 1inch shooter and gave it better front camera for vlogging since they made this for video enthusiast aswell. But since my xz premium died just random with out history of accident this made me question the sony's reliability. Don't get me wrong i still have my sony z ultra and its still a tank. Still running but the xz premium just died and maybe having the board problem. So since this xperia pro i shoots 4k 120 and having heating issues this may also suffer board problems in future since it might toast it by temperature. And the repair and the price for the parts are also expensive and hard to find since most of repair centers stocks only samsung and apple products.

XZP is from 2016. It's 5years old 😂. I didn't buy XZP because I had Z5p and waited for XZ2p. My Z5p still works fine. Everything works great but battery drains out in half faster than modern phones. Even my 1year old 1ii drains battery but whenever I use only 50-70% brightness, I get 7hrs screen on time. That's what I found with SONY. When brightness is more than 70%, the 4k screen eats through battery.

It's funny that Sony camera ai isn't that great while their TV upscaling ai chips are the best in the business.

    • @arcsephiroth
      @arcsephiroth 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Lol what AI? Sony doesn't use ai in its smartphones. If they did, they will be like rest of the mainstream phones and people like me will be left with nothing to tweak and play with

@@arcsephiroth I thought if you chose to shoot in raw format then no ai was applied but if you shot in auto then it would be. Strange but I guess someone has to cater to that end of the market. Ie consumers like yourself.

There are too many crap trolls still alive on this Earth to screw Sony's imagination and its price tag for dreaming like no other... But yes, top camera smart device ever!
Ps: That crapsung looks like deepcrap!

Ok, my personal opinion on this Sony’s smartphone, indeed it like to me really much, but it doesn’t value for money 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think it’s nice that Sony is trying. But as Marques has demonstrated people prefer the brighter and more contrasty photos like the Pixel 5a which won the blind smartphone photo 2021. Which renders this Sony camera not enticing to anyone from even the Android world.

But he never had great results when he used the Xperia, he was lazy and put the worst possible pictures from Xperia....I've seen other users with amazing color and made it brighter....
