    When you run into some disposable cash, a small tank air compressor with air nozzle will save you all sorts of scraping. I have over kill on the compressor (Auto Mechanic). Blast of air does wonders. I DO ENJOY all Your videos.

      Keith Millington I like your thinking, problem is if I get a compressor I'll want one capable of running air tools too for working on the car! Ball joints, rear bushes, all would be much easier! Then it starts to get expensive, plus I've got nowhere to store it!

      Keep in mind vertical compressors will take up less space but might be harder to find used. Mine does run tools, 180 max psi (130psi to150psi should work, the tank size matters for reserve)and a 25 gal tank on wheels, best is it runs 110 for home use. Works great for blowing out Dyson Cyclones, mind the dust clouds though. But, it makes good entertainment watching someone getting down and dirty with the scraping.

      Beko get yourself down to Aldi or Lidl you can get decent domestic compressors and air tools or get a second hand one it would be much easier to clean pleated filters fans the list is endless

    i have a dc50 as my daily. only as i got it given after the owner had me fix it numerous times. blocked easily and was not the machine for them. sold them a refurbisherd dc07. its not gret on suction but it does a good job cleaning the carpet. never use the stupidly short hose. i use my dc19 for dusting juties.

    The Dyson Small Ball is much better than the DC50. Better suction, feels like it digs into the carpet pile better, resulting in it picking more up and it feels better built having a metal handle. Mine hasn't blocked yet like my DC50 did

      +Luke Davies I have to say I don't rate this at all. I used it this morning upstairs and after running it round I got the Miele S7 out thats up there too just to finish the job! Is the head improvement on the 'small ball' the same sort as the dc41/41erp change?

      Beko1987 The head is only slightly better on the Small Ball. It has the max slider on it and I would probably say it has more suction because the suction feels stronger at the top and it overall feels like it is doing a better job. It isn't as good as the MK2 DC40/41 but it does a decent job. I have a DC40mk2 Animal as my daily driver. I gave my DC50 to a friend and it has weaker suction than the small ball and doesn't really pickup much off the carpet so I tend to use my Dyson DC41mk2 there

    do you have any videos or advise on reassembling the dc50 motor compartment and ball. I replaced the motor but can't figure out how to get it back together properly, I have some extra crucial parts that I can't figure where they are suppose to be.

    Thank you! After husband said, "Just throw it out and get a new one", I decided to look for another option. And this is all that was wrong. Didn't even need to go past the first five minutes.

    Hi, do you have a video for dc16s? Lights flashing but no power. Cheers

      +Brian Morgan I don't I'm afraid, but mine did that when the battery died, although being a dc16 the hall effect sensor could be duff...

    Hey Sam any advice for someone with a dc50 with loss of suction? I've taken it all apart and cleaned the cyclone entrance thing and made sure the head and pipes are clear but there is barely any suction even with the head off or through the wand.

    • @beko1987
      @beko1987  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cyclone isn't clogged up is it? Clean and washed filters? If you take the cyclone off and put your hand over the suction inlet on the chassis, that'll tell you if it's the motor or elsewhere on the machine.

      Beko1987 thanks for the reply. I have done the basic clean on the cyclone such as clearing the narrow air path but havent deep stripped it. Cleaned both the filters and there is suction when you take off the cyclone and feel the inlet but it's very weak. I think it might be the motor dying but it's not over heating or making and strange noises.
