    Does this plate fit into a CA320?

    • @58Alpha
      @58Alpha  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no idea...CA320 is that some sort of government approved gun or something? It sounds ridiculous, but this video is really only for the X-Ten version of the P320. I did not try it on any other P320s. I'll pin your comment to the top to see if anyone who watches can provide you with a better answer.

      @earlbhertfabella8755 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Springer precision is what you want to mount your optic to, it acts as a filler plate since the ca 320 has both the r1p cut and rmr cut on the slide, it needs this filler plate because the holosun 407c-507c is too small of an optic and it leaves a tiny gap front and rear the filler plate filles the gap and has the recoil lugs to support the optic.

  • @alandorschug9203
    @alandorschug9203 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    The screws that are supplied by Holosun are 6-32 but the 320 slide is 6-40.

  • @unreconstructedgordo
    @unreconstructedgordo ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Actually C&H makes the 6-40 screws in a .380" length that gives the maximum length for the xten, they come inseparate pack on C&H catalog . You need everything strong on thxten !

      I was looking for information or video like this too when I was trying to find one but NO one would explain it...always the dumb "how to install" video, which anyone can figure out, but no information on which optic plate is the right one! Thanks for watching! Share with your friends if they want to know as well.

      @@58Alpha yeah thanks again you really helped me find a good plate and it was reassuring knowing that somewhere in the mix of all those screws was a set that would work. How's the optic holding up on your 10mm?

    • @58Alpha
      @58Alpha  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rickylowry3213 no problem. The exact optic plate I'm using was also confirmed by CHPWS as well. And the optic is holding up great! About 2,000 rounds using it. I don't shoot 10mm too much due to how exhausting your hand gets and the price of ammo but it's held up great and the plate's posts and filling in the gaps really make the optic super sturdy to handle the 10mm recoil. I'll use it for hunting this season so that will also be another rugged test for the optic. But i got a rubber cover for it anyway to help protect it against brush and getting dirty from leaves and whatever.

    If we used locktight on the optic base, do you think we could bypass the plate
    (I have a hard time rationing the price for the plate- seems ridiculous)

    • @58Alpha
      @58Alpha  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      me too, the plate was about $60 for a piece of thin metal. But the plate does fill in the gaps and I rather not take the risk of the recoil of the 10mm breaking my sight off or something (it's a lot more than 9mm), so I bought the plate to be safe than sorry. I'm glad I did too, I even debated not doing it like you but I've learned my lesson in the past to just do it right the first time. But in the end you're going to do what you want to do based on what you feel is best. The worst that could happen is you just have to buy a new site if it breaks off or whatever.

    • @58Alpha

      I've probably put 2,000 rounds down range so far with it and have had no issues (sorry, I don't shoot it that much--ammo can be pricy and your hands get exhausted lol). I plan to use the X-Ten while hunting as well, but I installed the Holosun after the season, so the test for that will have to wait until the fall this year. Right now, the Holosun has held its zero and the screws have not come loose and nothing has broken. Overall, I'm still very satisfied with it. I think the adapter plate also helps to keep everything from breaking since it seals up some gaps between the optic and the slide. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

    You bro. I see you are not a mechanic, or any type of qualified mechanical type. That's ok.
    In the future I'd like you to at least THINK about things before you jump in and shoot a vid and send it to the internet.
    That being said. I'd like to correct you on a few things that WILL be important.
    1. When removing all plates, sights or whatever, clean with contact cleaner. (brake cleaner) don't be scared to use generously. Wipe all oil residue away, allow to dry (dries in just a few seconds) and BLOW OUT ALL YOUR FASTENER ATTACHING HOLES (aka tapped holes)
    Having any lube mixing with loctite, kinda doesn't work well...esp with really small fasteners.
    2. When attaching ANYTHING with multiple fasteners, START THREADING ON ALL FASTENERS, before you tighten anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I don't care how precision CNC machining is, you have (in this case) 3 different manufacturers parts (more if you count the fasteners because I'm 100% sure none of them actually manuf any fasteners!!!
    3. You didn't have a torque wrench. Well uga dugas are STUPID and very inconsistent and it's not so much "tightening" the fasteners as much as it is stretching the threads. Causing (potentially) many issues being blamed upon other than the installer!! It's important not just because it's in the litature, but by experience from engineers who knows all the capabilities of the fasteners they send. And....
    4. "Good enough" is trash.
    Be better than you were the day before. Learn from this. Teach others proper techniques and be responsible.
    Like why didn't you affix the slide into a vice? Much easier and more consistent in all your actions.
    Not trying to dog you, not trying to upset you.
    But if you are going to do a vid on "how to half ass do something" you succeeded!!
    To others reading this to this point, please understand DIY is fine, just be more careful and thoughtfully on your endeavors of saving a buck, instead of doubling it to repair again. Be smart and always ask questions.
    I have over 45years of gunsmithing, industrial engineering, and mechanical engineering as the way I feed my family, pay my bills, and keep a roof over all of our heads from LEARNING from my mistakes, misfortunes, and being stubborn.
    God bless!

      You should send all your complaints to the source (Sig) (Holosun/trijicon) to engineer their shit better so 3rd party companies don’t have to make adapters and such to make it “good enough”…. Was his video perfect, no but it’s already helped a lot of people and that’s what it’s there for! You got any videos up on TH-cam..?
