That's also why they have so much more felt recoil. I like 10mm for the power. If not I would have just bought a 9mm or three 40. You can get a multiple spring recoil setup to deal with those issues though. Like the dsm triple recoil guide rod. I can shoot light 45 all the way to 45 super and it also has lighter recoil. Might eventually have a failure do to the gun being designed differently. Just make sure you test and train or don't carry it. Use it as a range gun. Or have a back up or at least a rock to.throw at them while you clear the malfunction lmao

I'm an M&P guy. That said, I have the 4" MP10. It was a headache from the first trigger pull. Constant FTF, FTE, Mag Ejection, etc. Sent in to SW, came back with a new slide. It's much, much improved afterwards. Ive installed an APEX 45 Duty trigger internals into it (same OEM shoe). That cleaned up the trigger alot. 0 grit now, it was very gritty before. I've got close to 1500rds thru it so far. I love it. All that said, if I were to do it again, I'd go with that Springfield XDME. Most likely the 4.5" or bigger if there is one. I already have a Glock 30 with a 10mm conversion barrel for the "pocket" size. It would be first Springfield of any kind. In my opinion, it's the one to get out of these 3 with all factors combined. I have the Smith & Wesson 4.6 and the Springfield 3.8 Elite compact. I feel I've been very fortunate with the Smith & Wesson no malfunctions after 1,000 rounds of hot ammo. I had to send the Springfield back for a failure to feed since I've gotten it back it is also proved very reliable. I don't think I agree with you on the triggers after about 100 rounds through the Smith & Wesson. The trigger mellowed out balanced out and breaks very crisply and the reset is very short. Extremely easy to predict. Although the Springfield trigger is okay it is a bit soft. After all you're shooting 10 mm. I like that crisp break before it fires great video thank you so much

I have the XDM Elite and the mags hold 16 rounds (according to SA) while the witness holes only go to 15. I've been able to stuff 17 into it but wouldn't recommend you doing that since it's kinda hard to do and the mag release gets very stiff. I bought the Sig about 7 weeks ago and the first 50 rounds or so I had a number of FTF's. They were hollow points, I should have started with FMJ's. I lubed up the feed ramp a bit at the range, and since that time it has run flawlessly. Really a sweet shooter, more so than my G20 and G40. But I'd trust them more if it was life or death.

Might have just needed a break in period. Still having FTF's on the M&P after a couple hundred FMJ's. Seems magazine related, 2nd to last in one mag and the very last in the other. Same way every time. Always been taught not to lube the feed ramp, but if it works, it works! Once you got it right, might be best to leave it unlubed.
And totally 2nd on Glock reliance. Stock factory parts and it's my first pick for bump in the night stuff.

A very good fair and objective review. I own and have owned a number of handguns over the years. I have an old Ruger P95 that friends look at and say “ why do you still have that when there are so much better options.” Because I can hit what I’m aiming at, time and again, moving or not. As you state, it’s subjective.
I’m in the market for a 10mm. I really like my M&P 40. It feels right and is my favorite gun. I have a Springfield Hellcat, that I shoot better than sig 365 , or Glock 43X. Again, subjective.
I haven’t tried the Springfield 10mm but have held the M&P 10 and the Sig 10.

Joel, Alaskan bushman here. Bears are a CONSTANT threat up here & the 10mm is taking over the 44s & bigger for " In your face" bear attacks. Like you i dont shoot handguns much but my new Springfield XDM Elite compact is Freikin awesome! Only handgun ive ever had i dont have to aim to hit dead on. Just point & shoot. Did my tryout drills with 220 grain Underwoods hard casts ( coated) @ 1300 FPS I was able to pull & put 2 double taps into a 5 inch circle in just over 1 second @ 15 yards. ( Sideleg military open holster.) Thats MORE than enough to blow a charging bears brains out BEFORE it gets you. Having been bear attacked 5 times in my 38 years out here ive never seen a bear try to attack anything by running backwards. Just remember a bears brain is BELOW/ between its eyes. In the eye, up the nose or just under the ear is a definate brain shot. ( learned that the hard way, shot my 1st bear through the head above its ears.( 300 win mag rifle) Only stunned it temporarily. Then it came back even more pissed.) Black bears are FAR more dangerous than Grizzlies are once theyre bigger than you. Natural maneaters most closely related to Polar bears. Ambush hunters too! Sneaky bastards that will appear to be running away when theyre really just circling around to ambush you from behind. Quiet as freikin ghosts too. They WILL eat you alive so fight for your life if you get attacked because they wont quit until you kill them or hurt their nose bad enough. In an attack kill the SOB if you can. Ive tried both the Underwoods & the Buffalo Bore solid bear bullets. The Underwoods shoot smoother & hit just as hard at half the cost. More accurate too. 1 last tip. Bears ALWAYS die with their eyes OPEN. IF eyes are closed theyre just trying to bluff you in closer for another attack. Good luck out there bud & God be with you! 😁

Joel, One more lil experience tip. In an attack your adrenalin is going to spike instantly. Youll never feel the recoil or hear the bang until after the bears down & youre NOT. IM a lil guy w small hands. With the smallest backstrap the Elite compact fits my hands just right. Got attacked by a moose from 20 yards away. Put 5 HOT bear loads through its sternam w the 44 & as it came crashing down on my sled i jumped sideways & put the last round through both its shoulders point blank. Only knocked it over the 3 ft snow berm & it STILL hobbeled past both sleds & got back on the trail before finally collapsing. Found all 5 of the 320 grain WFNHC slugs just under the fur rear flank. 4 through the heart. My son on the sled behind me said all he saw was one continous flame & one big roar until the shoulder shot. Its amazing what we can do when were scared silly! In an emergency youll do just fine. I WOULD suggest you practice just point shooting. W practice cheaper rounds. It developes muscle memory that will kick in when the SHTF. No sights. Wont have time to use em anyway in a close up attack. And, forget bearspray. It never works in a full out attack. Just pisses the bears off more. I spent 25 years with the AK F&G dept as a remote wildlife spotter & id ban that stupid spray if i could. When blackies partially climb a tree theyre just looking for a better advantage point to attack their targets from. Bears are SMART! Never underestimate their intelligence. Standard F&G advise up here about " cabin bears" is shoot them ASAP. Once they start coming around they only get bolder & more agressive. That would apply to the lower 48 as well. The more people theyre around, the more dangerous they get.

Thanks for all your input. Fortunately for us so far the black bears have ran the other way and left us alone. So far my XDM Elite hasn’t had any problems other than me lol. I can’t seem to hit my target consistently at all. Mine came with the HEX red dot which I seem to struggle with. Again I’m relatively new to handguns, so I know I just need the practice. My thoughts were moving to the longer barrel might be better for me as a beginner. The XDM 4.5” or Sig P320 XTen.

@@PhillyPhan77 , Personally, id dump the optic. In a real attack you wont have time to use it at close range. Lotsa good vids out on " sence" shooting. Youll amaze yourself at how easy it is, especially up close. As for the longer bbl. I prefer the compacts for weight. Easier/faster to swing about & control for me. But thats a personal thing. We have LOTS of bear problems up here in Alaska. People gettinh killed just out walking in TOWN! My biggest blackie was a 10 footer. But that time i had lots of distance & a 45/70 lever action rifle & dumped his butt @ 100 yards with 1 shot center mass directly in the chest. Here, a handgun is only a backup for " IN YOUR FACE" stuff when you cant get your rifle into play first. Since getting my 10mm i dont even carry the 454 Casull anymore. No bear on earth can take 4 in the face & still attack. But again, i stress, its ONLY a backup to the kick ass rifle. Had a big blackie try to grab my wife off the back of our 4 wheeler. Saw it coming in the rear view & barely had time to snatch the rifle out of its carrier & swing it behind us shooting the bear in the face point blank. Blew its brains out of its butt. 420 grain WFNHC @ 2300 FPS. Almost a 458 load. Just the muzzle blast blew his head apart. Thats why i put the big rear view mirrors on the 4 wheeler. Damn sneaky blackies hide until you pass them & then try to attack from behind. I smelled him. Knew he was CLOSE. Was ready! Reached down & cocked the rifle just in case. Few seconds later saw the bushes shake & knew he was coming. THAT, was close! Muzzle was literally on his nose when i pulled the trigger. Course the rifle flew out of my hand due to the tremendous recoil but it didnt matter. Bear was down & we werent. Recovering the rifle was easy but you can bet the 454 was in my hand immediately afterwards. Exciting day! 😁

You should compare either the winner of the 3 or all 3 against the glock 20 and 40 and see what the results will be, I have the glock 40 and that thing handles recoil like a beast it’s jus as soft shooting as my colt delta elite only 10mm that has softer recoil than the glock 40 is the sig p220 match elite hunter bc that gun is so heavy and the g10 grips are so incredible it shoots softer than my p226 rx legion in 40 s&w no joke, if u love 10mins the pinnacle is that p220 I pretty much shoot all my 10mm ammo exclusively through it even tho I have several other very nice 10mins jus shootin that one is a diff story I use it for hunting it’s a beast but as u know that’s a VERY expensive gun lol

The optic plates from Smith and Wesson are trash, I lost a Holosun cuz the plastic broke under recoil. It also recoils, or at least feels like it does, more so than my G40, G20, Xten, and G29. Sights are cool, white dots suck. Texture is on point, but sucks for CCW because of how rough it is.
The Xten mags at capacity are ridiculously tight. Optic mounting was direct with a 507k. Factory sights are definitely great. Compatability with other P320 parts is also nice.
I've only owned two Springfields, the Hellcat OSP and the EMP4. Loved em both, my dad ended up with them. Not a huge fan of the Croatian stuff they offer, aside from the Hellcat. Looks, stereotypes, and the redundant and obnoxious "safety features" gives me massive "This is my first gun, so now I'm cool" vibes. Call me a snob if you will.

If you plan on carrying the SIG for human defense don't bother. Bought one and every brand of 180gr hollow point jammed up in the mag....including Sigs own 10mm ammo. So unless all you plan to run is ball ammo or narrow faced ammo don't waste your money. I was so mad and all Sig would tell me is "The mags were designed to very tight tolerances to maintain the smaller grip" So basically any wide mouth hollow point is going to jam up in the slide. I sold it in less than a week of purchase. I simply wrote them back and said "I'm highly disappointed that I'm having $200 budget gun issues with a $900 sig." Never again. I'll stick with H&K, Smith, Springfield, and Canik.

Yeah I had the same problem with my x10 it is very difficult to put mag in gun with 15 rounds.im not worried about a short grip just make it so the magazine can take 15 bullets my xdm magazines hold 16 bullets.no problem. These 10 mm guns are basically designed for carrying in the woods. Sig x10 won't fed certain bullets. Because they are to long for the magazine.you have to pick your ammo so it will feed right. The gun will run flawlessly with the right ammo.

As a proud XDM OSP 10mm owner, and it was the first handgun/gun in general purchase I’ve ever made I’m very fond of it and the 10mm as a whole. So very interested in seeing your thoughts on comparing the evolved XDM and the two new 10mm handguns on the scene from Sig and S&W, I have multiple pistols from all three companies, and I got high respect for all of em. So deciding which one is “best” is sure a hard thing to do. Putting any certain brand favor one might feel aside and making the choice would leave me sitting at a gun store or staring at an online store’s page for days trying to decide which one to choose. For now I’ll stick with my original XDM OSP 10mm with a compensator on the end, the new XDM has a better trigger and another round for the capacity, but I don’t think that’ll make me replace the one I have already.

The Sig Romeo is made for 10mm and they (Sig) specifically tells you that if you don't get a better quality optic for your 10mm, it's not going to last long. The Romeo so far, holds out longer for 10mm than other optics.. 10,000 rounds. I don't remember what others they tested with but ask about then if you buy one. I thought that was a very interesting side note to 10mm pistols and optics that most people would not consider when making that purchase.

They are all great pistols and in my hands at least more accurate than the more modern guns. The Glock 20 and Springfield XDM10 recoil feels softer. If I had to pick one 1911 in 10mm it would be the Springfield Armory RO Elite because it was decent priced, accurate and has been 100% out of the box with nearly 800rounds so far all full powered. The RIA is a great gun too and is double stack but the 1st one I had was a lemon and was actually replaced. Very good review! The XDM is and was my choice, specifically the 3.8" compact model. I like the smaller size for backwoods camping and hiking in black bear country. Its virtually the same size as a Glock 19. Like many. I did remove the magazine well for better grip comfort. The extended magazine is a great option as well when a "larger" grip and capacity are required. The trigger is fantastic and it has fed everything I put through it, including hard cast Buffalo Bore and Underwood. My only gripe is the relatively smooth grip texture but a set of Talon grips fixed that. I paid $504 after a 10% Springfield discount along with another 10% discount from my LGS. I was never a Springfield fan but this gun and my Hellcat Pro have made me a convert.

I sent everything requested the same day and it's now 2 weeks later and I have not heard anything. Magtech customer service sucks and I will never buy their ammo again.

I've had issues with Magtech in three 10mm handguns.

Love my XDM it’s so accurate. Only hate the red dot. Have to turn it on everyday. Plus it’s red not green.

I always love this guys channel and reviews! I picked up the Sig Sauer P320 XTen a few days ago and wow, just wow! It exceeds all expectations. The trigger is phenomenal, the ergonomics hit perfectly in every spot, and it comes optic ready.
I have 5 M&Ps (2 2.0s, 2 Shield Pluses and a Shield PC 1.0). Shield Plus Optic Ready is my daily carry.
I was holding out for the M&P 10 to keep it familiar, but holding the P320 10mm won me over!

I like the straight back recoil of the S&W Performance Center 10mm with the 5.6 inch barrel. The ports get you back on target quickly. And, very little muzzle flip.

Chhhhhh, Glock 20 Gen4 …. The only 10mm I’d trust for hunting black bears.

Great video, im between 3 10mm pistols right now also but instead of the m&p, its a rock island tac ultra with the threaded barrel.

You posted this 7 months ago, so I imagine you've probably made a decision already. My brother carries the Springfield 10mm in Alaska, I'm more of a Sig guy so I chose the XTen. The Sig is fantastic, with the best trigger of any striker fired gun I've tried and complete reliability. But a good friend let me shoot his RIA 10mm. It impressed me so much that I picked up the RIA Tac Ultra HC with the threaded barrel. After several hundred rounds it has also impressed me as excellent. Trigger feel is important to me, so that ruled out the M&P immediately.

I was looking at sig and springfield but that high bore axis was a no go for me. I chose the m&p 10mm knowing that i would buy a 22lb recoil spring to fix feed issues. Low bore axis, VERY comfortable and with the new spring extremely reliable. 580$ for the gun and 35$ for the spring. I paid 615$ for an amazing 10mm. Easy choice i would not have been happy with sig or springfield

I have the smith 10mm. I have not noticed that it has feeding problems. I guess that I have not shot it enough to notice it.

Just purchased the Springfield 10mm 3.8 , can't wait to fire it. Carrying in a Miami style shoulder rig and find it quite comfortable.

did seem to have a problem with slide and spring
could be spring weight, slide weight or refinement of the slide rails
