I have been following Dr Li’s advice for 3 weeks now and have lost 5 pounds. I have been fasting 12 to 13 hours a night. I also am trying to drink green tea and consume foods he recommends. I lowered my butter intake and am using more evoo instead. Slowly but surely I really think it is working.
I eat once òr twice per day and try to eat as much raw fruit and produce as possible. Best way to keep bowels moving and not become overweight. And using my bicycle to go shopping in town. That's some exercise and weightlifting and then 3 flights of stairs up as well.
I have been naturally 12 hour fasting all my life so keen to switch it up a little to improve my health and lose a few post menopausal kgs. Didnt know that milk in my tea/coffee turned the beverage into a 'food' so thanks for the great tip. Switching to black from now on, and working my way up to the 16:8 over the next few weeks. 👍
Great video. I travelled on the average of 22 weeks a year in my early 40s. I would be in Asia for a couple of weeks then home on the east coast for a week then off to Europe. My metabolism got so screwed up. The airlines would constantly feed you, my customers would want to take me out to restaurants to sample the local cuisine. One of the reasons I quit was for my health's sake. The constant time zone changes and stress got to be a little much.
Okay, Dr. Li - what about those of us who need to gain BACK 10 lbs lost during cancer recovery and stressful downsizing move? I was at ideal weight of 154 at 5’8” - age 80 - eating MediterAsian diet, exercising regularly in the gym, sleeping well (until the house move)… now back to 7-8 hrs sleep… and I meditate regularly (no ultra-processed food / no sugar / low carbs to keep cancer at bay). A year ago had 13.5 PSA. Four months after HIFU procedure I was at .3 and feeling great (Jan ‘24). Sold large house in May, downsized in June… lost 11 pounds, immediately. Now stalled at 143 lbs!! Trying to ban the dead and dying mitochondria, free radicals, and zombie cells. So it seems, that going back to heavy carbs would have a deleterious effect, leaning in favor of more cancer cells. Am I being paranoid about this? And where should I go from here to get my normal, healthy weight back - so I don’t look as if I just came out of a concentration camp? I know you can’t give actual medical advice. But please do a podcast that covers gaining weight back instead of always losing weight like everyone else wants to do. It’s been as if I’m caught in a vicious circle holding pattern.
Please advise... I am 72, eating a Mediterranean type of diet, but moreover have been cutting out 90% of the sugar and starch carbs I use to eat. My main concern is that my skin is more crepey and a bit loose, and I blame it on the fact there is not much fat underneath to keep it plump. I also work out almost every day for a direct 40 minutes to an hour and also am a fairly active person every day. I am much slimmer and fairly fitter than I was in my last two decades but my skin is not keeping up.
That happened to me, too, when I started IF and lost 30 pounds (and keeping it off for two years now). I'm okay with having a few more wrinkles if it means I'm slimmer and healthier. However, in a recent video Dr. Li suggested that collagen supplements and home-made bone broth, gelatin drinks, etc. could improve older skin. I might try it.
Try taking 1 teaspoon of MSM powder and 1/8th tsp of sodium ascorbate powder (vit c) dissolved in some cold juice every morning. MSM is sulphur which is the building block of collagen..you will see the difference in your skin in 6 weeks
I do 16:8 intermittent fasting and drink Matcha tea in my fasting window ? Is that okay or not ( because of the fiber ) ? Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge with us !!!!!
What do you do when taking prescribed medications and vitamin supplements? One must eat food to protect the liver when taking this medication like metformin and Ibruprofin. I want to get to the autophagy stage! 🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑🥑
I have a black cup of coffee in the morning with 2 sugars. I thought I was still fasting but it sounds like what you are saying it is not. Am I hearing you right? I just want to be effective in what I am doing. Thank you
The black coffee is ok while you are fasting, but the sugar is not. If you want the sugar in your coffee you have to drink it during your eating window. He talks about it at about 22:30 of the video if you want to review.
@@TimothyDeck I would add that you can use pure organic stevia in place of the sugar. You must be careful though to check ingredients and not buy the ones that contain fake sugars (erythritol) as those are bad for you. Also check labels for the monk fruit if you choose to try it. The manufacturers will cut both of these natural sweeteners with the erythritol to make more money. Be sure to read labels on everything as they have come out with a lot of artificial sweeteners and they have various names. Good luck to you!
Because your body have a set point for your ideal bodyweight. You need to break that set point by extending the tasting window and adding physical activities. It took me a long time to break this set point. Low carb diet is worked well. Walking is also worked well for me. I am 53 years old my body weight is about the same as, when I was in my 20s. Thanks for the health experts podcast that I have been following for the past 3 years. I was born in Thailand , I love eating the Mediter-Asian food as per Dr. Lee advice.

Use a red light mask and derma roller to build collagen in your face. I am 78 and have started with a manual roller. Check out Dr. Rajani.

Please talk about COLITIS!!!
Much better at double speed! And I hate all the misleading titles.

Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge with us !!!!!
Very interesting ❤❤❤
Dr Li, I can not find the Mediterian food receipt from here. Can you show us the receipt on your next video. Thanks much
Grilld fish or meat with colourful vegetables and salad. Colourful vegeatables? Bell peppers, salad greens, red onions etc.
VERY GOOD❤️
Eat what you like when you like no processed food and plenty of walking to get super lean and fit

I personally have never lost weight with a 12 hour fast. I need 18/6. And there is a human study on fasting, I think.
Does coffee with Stevia break the fast?
Can we drink when we are fasting?
I have a black cup of coffee in the morning with 2 sugars. I thought I was still fasting but it sounds like what you are saying it is not. Am I hearing you right? I just want to be effective in what I am doing. Thank you
U can’t use sugar
Use monk fruit instead

Do not need sugar ..use good coffee❤may acquire new taste where don’t need to flavor it!
How do you explain fasting almost everyday but not seeing results?
Add exercise e.g. walking before and after eating for half an hour.
Because your body have a set point for your ideal bodyweight. You need to break that set point by extending the tasting window and adding physical activities.
