- Did the Ewoks REALLY EAT the Stormtroopers at the end of Star Wars Return of the Jedi?
Cuz it seems like it’s heavily implied that they eat humans when they literally tried to cook Luke, Han and Chewie!
But let’s take a look at a Legends comic book that might give us the answer!
You see, in the comic Apocalypse Endor, it reads that when a group of Stormtroopers who were stationed on Endor opened fire on some Ewoks, the little fuzzy bears became extremely hostile!
Not only did they try and hurt the Stormtroopers but they terrified them with physiological warfare!
They would set deadly traps in the forest, play drums around the base in the middle of the night and the worst part of it all, the Ewoks would sometimes capture unfortunate Stormtroopers and leave their remains displayed for their friends to find in the morning!
It seems pretty clear to me that they ate them but since this comes from legends, let me know what you think the Ewoks did in the comments!

In the canon mini series ‘forces of destiny’ they established that Leia and Han made sure that Ewoks didn’t eat the stormtroopers from the battle.

Yea I have heard of it a long long time ago. Ewoks are not animal minded, they have intelligence therefore just like the headhunters of Borneo that stopped practicing headhunting and cannibalism after meeting modern civilization, Ewoks may have done the same.

@@5Demona5 well to be fair ewoks might now have outlawed sweat shops yet and they seem to be fashionable in their own way so the pieces of tge puzzle were already there. The stormtroopers corpse was all the needed to get the measurements down

every edible thing they can.
Tf you mean not much food on Endor, it’s a MF forest planet. Forests are some of the healthiest and life abundant places, there is tons of food there for them to eat. There are comics, shows, and maybe games that show what they eat and their lifestyles.
They have tons of enemies and doubt they would give up a meal
@@sheepycheezeforests tend to create dead zones for most other plant life because they leach nutrients from the top soil among other things, but if it were like the Amazon then they’d have a lot of fruit bearing trees and dense animal life to survive on.

Endor appears to be absolutely rich with resources. I don't think there is any shortage of food

Imagine being a stormtrooper,the ELITE of the empire and not being able to kill teddy bears meant for merchandise
In lore the reason the Ewoks live in the trees and have all those giant traps set up it’s all to defend themselves against these massive bigfoot like creatures that aren’t seen in the movies. Because of this the Ewoks likely have an omnivorous scavenger diet and eat just about anything they catch
If I recall correctly, even Chewbacca thought that Ewok woodland survival and brutality could match that of Wookiees.

in Return of the Jedi, the stormtroopers on the racks they use as bongs or drums or whatever, it looks like they just took the helmets off the corpses and let nature have what remains of the helmetless stormtroopers

There is a short film on TH-cam called Escape from Endor, and it does imply that the ewoks do try eat them. This is also canon
Legends is a new concept. Way back during the Lucas years of unbroken multimedia Star Wars continuity. This was canon.

In my opinion all legends are canon until new canon is made to either confirm it or deny it. For example before the Mandalorian and book of boba fett confirmed Jangos armor as beskar I had it in my mind that it WAS beskar because of the legends

Ewoks defeated greater threats on their daily basis just to survive, like AT-ST sized monsters,and its not like somethinh like that didnt happened in real life, when elite army with firearms lost to mere aborigines (and in real life there was no rebels with firearms on aborigines side)
