Hi Mike! What you're doing is nothing less than heroic! I just got offered to buy my friends XC-540 for less than $500 with two clogged heads and a stuck heater relay. Plus I'll get six rolls of different material and 7 cartridges of ink. My goal is to start doing print jobs and use the earnings to gather new parts for the machine. I'm pretty sure the gold plated heads will work for the roland xc-540, right? Better be safe than sorry to not have asked. One can't be too sure. Thanks a million times for what you do for the community! Kind regards from a soon to be dx4 printer owner.
I still love the xc540 one of the best machines made. Yes they will work unfortunately I don't believe any of the new Dx7 or Dx4 printheads are of the same quality as the originals. But with the golf nozzle plate they will be more durable than the other
Your videos helped me a ton. THANK YOU! I bought an old SP-300V, and knew nothing about it until my Magenta dropped out and then Yellow. Turned out to be the cap top needing replaced. I got some spare parts and consumable with the machine. I didn't recognize the dampers in the video, how can I tell mine are OEM or not?
On the SP series aftermarket dampers don't bother me as much as other models with compression dampers. Yours will be fine. Appreciate the feedback! Hope I can help keep it running
@@reprint217 Thanks, I have a quick question if you get this. Do you happen to know what is the max. length for a USB print Cable for the SP-300V? I bought a 20ft cable, and it didn't work. I am wondering if a 15ft would work. Otherwise, I am not sure how to connect it to me desktop computer without redesigning my space.
Hi Mike, another informative video. Where cab I purchased the GOLD plated DX4 printheads and also, where can I purchase the OEM captops for a good price?

I don't believe their is a maximum length. Around my shop, I have some long cables over 20 feet, and they work, but I have also had some that didn't. I think it may be the quality of the cable as I had bought some bad ones from Amazon before.
Thanks for all the tips. Q: For a SP-540v at Digiprint , I could only find the oem cap tops (XC-540 Assy...), how do you identify the oem dampers and wipers? or buy them somewhere else?
For the wipers, part number is 1000003390 they are pretty important. The dampers you can get away with cheap ones on the 300v. They have a low defect rate compared to the VS model dampers. The aftermarket wipers are too hard and can cause issues.
Thank you for the info. I have been burned by aftermarket captops and wipers, also! ☺Note: I have a Roland LEF-200 running an older version of the firmware ( v1.50 ). I just installed one of the newer gold DX4 printheads, and nothing is happening - printhead is not printing at all. Is the latest firmware ( v2.10 ) required with these new printheads?
If looking for Truevis parts, I highly recommend Joining the Roland Digital Printers group and connecting with Ernie Viveiros. He's a roland dealer and can sell to public, some dealers can't sell parts without installing. Digiprint-supplies.com is also one of my go to's
The sp300v can still produce sellable output, and there are still some good ones out there. If working with small budget it can be a great tool to expand your business and help you grow. If can be in a good one for under 3k you will be alright. I'd still use one.
My p5000 runs its cleanings just fine, i can see ink shootingnout the printhead and all. It wont print and nozzle checks come back non existant or hardly even there. 3 month old machine, ran cleanings every one or two weeks. Why do you think its doing that?
Honestly, I do not know much about the p5000 I've never dissected one. There is a group on facebook my buddy leo now manages he knows the p5000 very well. facebook.com/groups/2035359889980675/?ref=share_group_link
@reprint217 im in his group, i didn't think to ask there because sometimes there isnt alot of true information and im not too well versed on it either. You do seem to know your stuff better than most people i've seen out here. I guess ill change this fuse out and update you, because i am totally stuck

very helpfull thanks Bro
Always a pleasure, glad it helped
Hi Mike, another informative video. Where cab I purchased the GOLD plated DX4 printheads and also, where can I purchase the OEM captops for a good price?
Hey Jon, digiprint supplies is where I buy both the printheads and captops.
Gold head 491.00 captops I believe 27.00
Hi. How are you. I ve got a LEJ640 UV Printer, do i have to change the 4 printheads then, or can I mix them and change them as needed? thanks
You can change only as needed

@@reprint217 your advice is priceless! Thank-you for taking the time to respond so we can learn from you!
very useful video. can it be use for mimaki jv3 eco solvent? or is it only for roland?
I honestly have never tried them in a Mimaki so can't recommend them.

There should be nothing in firmware to stop you from printing with the new heads. Check cables and fuse on mainboard
Where's the best place to get OEM parts what company

Hey brother, is a Roland SP300v needing one printhead worth $600? I can replace the printheads, dampers etc all on me own.
The sp300v can still produce sellable output, and there are still some good ones out there. If working with small budget it can be a great tool to expand your business and help you grow. If can be in a good one for under 3k you will be alright. I'd still use one.
Did you say the gold will work in the SP 300v if both are replaced with gold?
Yes, they work just fine. Due to price increases and availability, I haven't ordered any in a while.
DigiPrint has them at same price as standard

Why do you think its doing that?
Typically, when your confident ink is going through the printhead, it is a fuse on the mainboard 99% of time
@reprint217 what does that fuse do? Can i go on your website incase i need support and can pay you for it?
Honestly, I do not know much about the p5000 I've never dissected one. There is a group on facebook my buddy leo now manages he knows the p5000 very well.
