Calvin, you do a nice job explaining (without being too chatty) it and providing a slow motion breakdown of what you just discussed. And you're right, with a consistent release point, we'll know where the ball will rise back up to each time, and muscle memory will take over from there, as we practice. I like it.
I agree with most of what you say however, don’t agree with the body turning more on the drop serve compared to traditional serve. The body should be turning with either serve!
fair enough :) I believe he body is able to turn easier with bounce serve but do agree that it naturally turns with both. At lease in my experience hitting the 2 styles of serve
I agree Tony! I'm also interested to see how it changes the pro level of play once one of them decides to take the time to practice it enough. I wonder who will be the first pro to start using it? Hmmmm
To be fair, he said not to worry about your initial practice shots- it's just to get a feel for it. His points about the release of the ball and hitting it at the top of the bounce were all good, and he provided a nice slow motion breakdown for us. To each their own, but I liked the video.

Thanks so much Casper :) I appreciate the kind feedback and am glad you found it helpful!
Calvin, you are an AMAZING teacher!!
😊 I'm so honored to get such a great compliment from one of my personal favorite teachers in the world!!! Thanks so much aunt Marsha!

Please support the budding Korean Pickleball 😄
Oh cool! I'm glad to hear Pickleball is growing in Korea too :)
@@CalvinKeeney Thanks for your support 🌱👉🌳
@@koreapickleball9137 Anytime! :)
The drop serve will change the game for a lot of club players.

@@CalvinKeeney I'd say a pro with a weak serve looking to step up there game..
@@tonyguinn566 Thats a good guess Tony. My guess is a creative player like Zane Nav.
@@CalvinKeeney I know I can't wait for the weather to break here so I can get out in the Court and see what I can do with the drop serve..
@@tonyguinn566 I hope it breaks soon and you get to test it out some! We are iced over here as well and waiting for the weather to clear up :)
Tell Zane that
Zane is a great server and will do well with whatever he comes up with :)
It’s an interesting serve.... shouldn’t of been so judge mental ... who knows whatever works
@@pjpj2639 I like that about PIckleball. I've seen some interesting strategies/techniques that get the job done. A fun game for sure
Very Skeptical Video! You never showed if the drop serve you hit was in or out? The one serve you did show was 👉 W A Y O U T, 👉👉W A Y O U T!
lol
