I was extremely pleased with the first one. The only real problem was wire placement and the limited VTX. Once those problems were fixed, however, it quickly became my favorite quad.
I didn’t even watch the video before I bought one. Seen the Kabab video notification, got bad stomach butterflies, straight to emax, bought it..... and to the video to see what the man says. Thank you for all that you do.

I got my Freestyle2 the other day, I'm getting white flashing in the DVR with mine, just like I had with my original Tinyhawk. I ended up changing the VTx on that one. This one doesn't seem to be quite as bad as that one but it is still there. I've still some more channels and power settings to check though.
the % increase in prop area follows this function:
f(x) = (4*π*((x-1)/2)^2)/(4*π*(x/2)^2)
f'(x) has a miximum at 1.5"
and f''(x) a minimum at 2"
7" is right at the edge of f(x) leveling out

My first fpv quad was the original white plastic Emax Babyhawk. It served me well and there need to be these entry level quads in the market to allow people to dip their toe in without investing significant amounts of money or time to build their own.

I love how silent the prop is. Without it I cannot fly in my garden without neighbors yelling at me.
Liquid electrical tape is great to make sure that doesn’t happen just paint on a couple layers and water doesn’t effect it , done it on none waterproof Rc cars and have had no issues . Getting mine Thursday !

crashed mine a while back FC lost everything and seemed to reset itself, had to reflash and now it works. What can cause that?

Did they change the board to be able to handle the 200mw vtx? The previous version was a 3.8v so a 200mw 5v vtx would burn them out sometimes

Quick question, when I power up and start to take off the drone does a real fast 180 degree turn and drops to the ground. It maybe gets about 6 inches off the ground when this happens. Ive hooked it up to betaflight and everything looks correct. Any Ideals?
Your motor orientation is likely wrong. Motors not all spinning the correct direction.
Hi, I have a tinyhawk ii race - my most powerful drone. I live in NZ and there isn't much choice for toothpicks. However, both this and the Diatone gtb 339 are available. Which out of these would you recommend as a step up from the tinyhawk ii race?
The tinyhawk race ii is pretty okay. You're gonna get more performance from the 339 but it's always best to build your own

You need a jumper on the other batt connector

Both are good. Both are so so with reliability. It's always best to build your own.
have you tried the 2.5 inch Azure props on this? How do you think those props will affect its performance?

Yes the qx7 should but I dunno if they've changed the shopping firmware on newer qx7's not to do D8. I don't thibk they have
I broke an arm on a similar style frame too. Stiff does not necessarily mean strong. What prop would you recommend for better rpm top end performance with this motor?
The HQ 65mm prop is what I'd recommend. Very smooth and in control throttle. The general design is not really that optimal for a carbon plate but it's also not bad. It feels really sturdy so I am impressed when I hear about them breaking.
What I prefer about top mount batteries, over bottom, is that the weight tends to be leading the props so it’s easier to swing them around that center of mass and keep motion fluid. With bottom mounts it feels like the weight is trailing the quad, and the movements become more pendulum-like, because you’re swinging that mass around the props, instead of the other way around.
Of course I fly with the biggest batteries I can manage, so that probably has something to do with it, but I used to not like flying the 3” class very much because the majority are bottom mount. Then I swapped my Diatone over to a Micro Reverb frame, and now I love 3”. I turned that into a 4” and now it’s my favorite quad. Easy to fly and the flight times are nuts.
Yep it's a real feeling effect but in these tiny things, weight distribution is exceedingly important as well. Much of tht time more important than the center of weight
Do I go with tango 2 or dji controller? I get a good price on dji stuff, so it will end up costing me around the same including the receiver for crossfire. Will dji have lower latency? What are the advantages? I also heard CF shot is really good. I'm a hybrid grip, like you, so let me know your thought please!
Crossfire is a far better control link but DJI is just easy. If you're not too lazy to solder in a separate receiver and deal with a secondary receiver antenna on the quad, definitely go with crossfire

What do you think about getting the 20x20 mamba F722 w/ 30A 6s ESCs (306) for a 5 in 6s build potentially in you Glide frame? I asked yesterday, but you recommended the Mamba toothpick, so I think you might have thought I was doing a smaller build.
that's usually what I use. I'm waiting on this new ESC to be finished so we can stock that one ESC and only that one ESC....

Mmmm good question. Probably not after the fact because something likely burnt since it was powered. That method would likely be as effective as dunking it in isopropyl alcohol.

The novice III or any of the novice kits are the worst things available in this industry. They are total garbage. Even someone with a lot of experience would struggle to get it working well and keep it running.

Hi, I just got a tinyhawk II race. Could I swap it into this frame to make it a freestyle ii or are the motors being 7500kv too high?
I don't think the wires would reach. Kv is fine

You'd need a soldering iron. Not too hard to take off and put a different one back on.

How does this compare in terms of power to the 1s babytooth? I have a Babytooth and it is my favourite quad. I had a tp3 but it was always having problems and it set on fire the other day so I'm just wanting a backup for the babytooth basically maybe with a bit more power.
What AIO board were you using that caught fire? A BetaFPV board? They have a habit of catching fire. The TH F2 is nice but it doesn't feel like the babytooth 1S. The TH F2 for one thing barely hovers on 1S. It pretty much requires 2S to move at all. The props are smaller and the weight is significantly higher. It cannot match the performance of the babytooth 1S on 3"
@@Kabab Thanks for the reply. It didn't actually quite catch fire as I unplugged the battery soon enough but it was sparking and charred a lot. It was a Jhemcu board, I don't know exactly what happened but something must have reversed the polarity as it blew up two batteries as well... But just in terms of power, my babytooth is 62 grams AUW, so would you actually expect the tinyhawk freestyle to be slower on 2s? It doesn't have to be amazing performance, just something as backup. Another thing I was thinking of is running 2s on my babytooth with a motor output limit, I wonder how that would work? The motors are Flywoo 1202.5 11,500KV and the board is a 5a Betafpv one.
@@jackjohnson5024 usually the jemchu boards are pretty good but they still have kinda so so QC so it's a gamble.

never HV. They're mostly a waste of time and do not last as long.

why would you get better range with the $40 BETAFPV LITERADIO 2? New to this and probably buying this quad as my first but trying to decide on BETAFPV LITERADIO 2 because of this recommendation or the TARANIS Q X7 ACCESS. Or any other controller recommendations? Thanks
The beta radio as well as the one from new bee drone both have different types of antennas and I believe a little higher output than the Frsky radios. They genuinely get surprising range with the crummy built in receivers of whoop boards.

I'd strongly recommend staying away from anything that has 'crazy' in the name. At least in this industry. QC is awful and zero support

Either one is good. They're very similar. Maybe the race is easier to change the battery on. I prefer the way the freestyle flies.

Hi Kabab, this is the video that sold me on getting into the hobby. I have the Tinyhakw II Freestyle and same radio as well. I noticed the stock PIDs/Rates are pretty slow, I just did the xt30 connector with 2s 450mah tattu batteries. Are you using default rate profiles or is this custom rates? If so, could you please share? Your Tinyhawk rips compared to mine. Thank you.
I use default or very close to default. I like it slow so it's easier to control
Can this bad boy connect to the BETAFPV Goggles and Transmitter? I hear they are much better than the EMAX ones. When I buy a 5" I'll likely go DJI so I don't want to get anything expensive for analog.

They're going to fly the same, only real improvements are the vtx and cam. The power train is the exact same as the original freestyle regardless of what they claim, same motors, same aio as the tinyhawk s, tinyhawk freestyle, tinyhawk 2, tinyhawk 2 race.

@@TheStopmotionMovie you know what's really weird is I got the original tiny hawk and the camera looked horrible and next thing I know it started looking pretty decent. and then when I got the tiny hawk freestyle I was like man the camera my other one is so much better,. It looks like all blurry and out of focus and now it looks just like the other one now and it's really not as bad as some people make it out to be, I just can't figure out why it starts to look better after a bit of use, It's so strange.. really I just wouldn't mind having a more powerful VTX. But every time I fly the little tiny hawk freestyle I'm amazed at how big it feels it doesn't feel like I'm flying a little toy the size of the palm of my hand.

Yeah with a jumper but you won't want to. It will barely be able to move
KababFPV got one more question :D Did you zip tie the rx antenna to the standoff in the back? Or just let it dangle like it came from the box? A little scared that the antenna can touch the props so i zip tied it to the back, but starting to wonder if thats not a good idea as i see in all the reviews people let the antenna hang like it came originally..

Does the literadio 2 give better range than the tx16s? How is that possible?
it depends on how well the signal is tuned for the rx so it depends from case to case

I fine tuned the frequency on my tx16s, but I still seem to only get 3/4 of the way down my (long) driveway before failsafing. I used to be able to do the full length. It's almost like the the signal quality (rssi and vtx) are degrading over time on the TH2....
