@@miklosko3355 He flew the Sailfly and the later toothpick quads are soo much better. I am curious to see how this compares to the BetaFPV HX100 and GepRC Phantom. Those are the best toothpicks from my fleet. The HX100 is my overall favorite because it flies so smoothly, can output 200mw and has Crossfire :)
@@RCDevotee I don't own any of them(yet ;) ) I've been looking at the phantom for a while now. Seems solid. The HX 100 doesn't seem to be lacking power. I've been flying spektrum for several years and today I got my first Frsky transmitter and I'm planning to upgrade all my models to Frsky. Jonathan had a point with the range of spektrum. When he dropped out of sky that time with timber and you where doing laps around him made me rethink everything (I think you had crossfire on it) I will wait till you get the emax freestyle and then you can maybe make a video about all your"toothpicks" and tell us what you like and what you don't and maybe pick one from them that's the best one...I will buy it then ;) That's just an idea. That's good to hear, I'd want something with a better resolution & lens camera, I really don't like those low resolution cameras with the weird non-uniform distortion, makes it more difficult to judge distances/angles.

My 90GT was my first proper acro quad, I flew that thing to death almost. It still flies despite its very worn motors that produce jello in the camera, but it hangs on the wall because I've got better micros now.
I have started flying mine, and I am impressed!
kababfpv i can seriously say that you started one of the biggest trend in fpv the toothpick class they fly amazing soo much like the big quad and in time for all them drone rules big up and nuff respect to you bro

I'm having trouble binding mine, any ideas to what it might be because my transmitter has been set to d8 and I've had the blue light stay on but not blink after my controllers binding process.
Caleb Morant have you plugged into Betaflight to be sure it isn’t bound? I don’t recall whether or not my rx led flashed blue or stayed illuminated.

For me, the EMAX Tinyhawk Freestyle is a good, short range, easy cruiser (yeah, I don't do many stunts). I say short range because the built in Rx has about half the range of my FrSky XM+ quad and the video is ok, but is still short range. I like that this quad gives good fly times; I consistently get over 8 minutes on 600 mAh GNB batteries running HQProp T65mm 2.5 inch bi-blade props. I also like the lower end performance. Since I am not aggressive, I don't use the top range of power. Concerns: the bottom frame plate is not that strong. I have "broken" (or rather fractured, more like laminate separation than a clean break) one of the arm struts. I have repaired it an am still flying it. I do have spare parts including a replacement bottom frame and an RX/Vtx sled for upgrading receiver and Vtx.
Cool points about the sugars.. Damn actually I learned something today... best video ever... I use those floss stick things and I like them best. They come in a bag and transport easy. They also have a pick that I like cause I CAN"T STAND STUFF BETWEEN MY TEETH! huge pet peeve especially meat and popcorn. Thanks man, very cool

RDQ had 76 when I got the notification right at 2:45. I just refreshed it and they are down to 74 just minutes later
As far as why toothpick builds might be more sensitive, I think it has to be how the whoop-style boards are fastened. A lot of the gummies that are used to mount the boards are a bit too soft, which can either be good or terrible. Or the other direction, people are hard mounting the boards and leads to more difficulty tuning because the filtering might need to be adjusted and refined to get it flying well.
They should be pretty well insulated but micros generally have a much more difficult vibration profile to begin with

2mm motor shafts are a massive game changer here. Ask the brush-less nano FB group. It dramatically increases the durability of this size of motor.

You mentioned in your last video a problem with the pin sharing between the flight controller and the ESC. You could put silicone isolating grommets in the frame and then mount the flight controller and ESC together with solid standoffs.
This board uses thick pins. They won't break

I have two of these little guys, and I run them on 3s. I know they're not rated for it, but they handle 3s extremely well. The performance is increased at least three fold, and the motors do not heat up at all.

@@Kabab Works great, as long as the size of the 3s you're using is taken into account. It surprised me that it really didn't affect the tune either.

@@MrGom3zoneI wouldn't really call it a 3s setup, since they're both completely stock, save for the fact that I run 650mah cnhl 70c 3s packs on them. It kinda seems you need proof that I'm not talking out my *ss. So As soon as I get another day off to be able to fly, I'll get it done. I don't blame you if you don't believe it, but it does work great.

Wish I could get mine in the air...all the motors are reversed and I reverse them in betaflight, but nothing changes when i go to test the motors(I did save and reboot lol)
This is why the 3hole pattern is better. Look at the carbon around the holes. Its just a better arrangement. It’s less “convenient” only because of the lack of standards, but that’s why the manufacturers need to be told what to do.
I get some crazy oscillations using those props and 2s.

Thanks for your videos. I've been keeping up. Subscriber here. What are your thoughts on this TinyHawk Freestyle (version 2 as it's newer than this one being reviewed here) as a next step up beyond the regular TinyHawk 2? I'm looking for a freestyle quad to learn acro on and am also considering the Cygnet3 or Advant Vanta 2 Nano. My concerns for the TinyHawk Freestyle is its ability to fight wind or lack thereof. And would it be too close to the TinyHawk 2 for it to even be worth getting for me?
I don't want to overstretch myself with anything too "pro" as I'm still a newb working on dialing in rates. So far I've set up my TinyHawk 2 on the Mockingbird tune and making some changes on it.
I think this is a fun little quad but you can build a better one yourself. That's usually my answer for anything RTF.

Stevia isn't a sugar but it does mimic that effect on your taste buds. Hard to overcome the licorice flavour though. Xylitol has a cooling effect which is why it works well with mint. Tastes weird as a sugar replacer elsewhere though. Oh yeah nice quad btw 🤓

Dude, your flying is hypnotic. You're one of the dopest pilots out there but we only ever get to see them moves tacked on to product reviews, dental lessons and industry knowledge bombs. 👍🏼👍🏼🤘🏼. Any chance you could do a video that names some of those maneuvers that we see you and other pilots doing? Not even a tutorial, just what to call them. All I know is power loop, split-s and juicy flick, but there's so many other moves I don't know what they are called. Anyways, keep doing your thing mang!
I want to do this but I just don't have the time to spend on it. I'm planning a store launch in a couple weeks and hope to build enough revenue quickly to dedicate a day a week to doing this stuff exclusively.

I bought one of these a month or two ago. It flew amazing! But there where 2 problems. One, the VTX sucked, and it broke soooo easily.

I bought it recently. Just for having some fun in my living area where I can't fly my 5 inch quad. However, I have noticed, that there are some oscillations on full throttle. Also, CPU usage in betaflight is around 30-40 %, which is imho high. Do you have the same experience? Have you changed stock pids? Please let me know in a comment. Cheers mate!
I think I set it to default BF. I don't remember the electronics on it but 30-40% is fine. It won't affect anything.

Fpv is in general kinda hard to pickup. The best way to learn is to get a controller and practice on the simulators. If you really want to fly now now now, the Emax EZ pilot is for you and nothing else will be usable by any beginner.
With all the products coming out in this class... I'm super torn. I cant functionally build a toothpick because of a brain injury. I cant keep my hand still enough to get the MICRO parts perfect ad I would with even a 3 inch build. I want nothing more than a real Kabab toothpick but some of these options are making me say...should I just pull the trigger? I love everything you've designed and own 95% of it, except the toothpick. Are you putting out a bnf version of yours by chance. I'd be forever in your debt. It's my next purchase and I'd love to have one for west coast this year. My first vacation in 13 years, plus it's on my birthday!!
This is a really good option to me. I'm working on some RTF quads but I still always recommend building yourself. I understand it's not really possible for you however. This quad should hold up really well

It's not really a 600mah. It just says 600. It's the same weight and flight time as a 450mah cell

These HQ props don’t seem to work for me. I get crazy vibrations at higher rpm’s. I would try an other set but they are so hard to pull off, I always pull the bell apart. Love this drone though with the original prop. Just wish the bottom frame was more rigid it brakes pretty easy.

Sounds good and the price is right but motor mounts ruin it for me. When the motors get damaged, there's no options.
Hi, beginner here coming from a toy whoop. I just got my tinyhawk freestyle because of this video haha but havent opened it yet. I plan to practice acro on this. Anything i should setup first before i fly it? I havent used betaflight or changed pids or anything in my life, this will be the first quad i am able to do so, so this will be my first foray into the whole nitty gritty of quad flying. Thanks!
Go for default rates. Will make it easier. Rates of 0.90 and super rate of 0.60 with no expo is even better. Those numbers for all.

wait, did they direct solder the motors AND leave the plugs? And that cap placement...and why not attach the power lead to the back with a light mount so it doesn't flop around...seems a bit cobbled together.

You can desolder it if you like. Takes a little work to desolder however.
