That one is a real find. Fit and finish is stunning. That Universal diesel is pre-Westerbeake buyout of Universal (1990), so parts are cheaper and readily available at any auto parts store. Universal got the blocks from Kubota and fit them out with aftermarket components from auto industry. That one really is tempting to make a call on ... I just wish it was the 34 for a bit more beam and overall space.
The 34 is really an ideal size. This was bigger than I was expecting for 28 feet, but I get your point. As always, thanks for your feedback and support!
A nice boat for one lucky guy or gal. Wind vane self steering with spray dodger. Ideal for a couple for gentle coastal cruising. Prefer these smaller yachts as you can brace yourself whereas modern Dufours are harbour boats.
Hello! Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment. She was refit in Lincolnville, Maine, at: www.mainevarnish.com/services They are super people and do amazing work.
I am guessing you have no idea what parts for a boat cost. Bronze portlights. New lewmar winches. New stainless steel lifelines. New blocks, cleats, padeyes, etc. Trust me somebody paid a lot of money just for the replacement parts. Add in the labor and you see this ids a steal
Dumping black water in the ocean is unacceptable these days, even if it is legal. She needs a pump out connection as well as the instruments mentioned by @vincentmiceli2554. Beautifully done, though.
You make an excellent point. We need to protect our oceans. She does have a pump out connection, so that is good. She also has a slew of instruments. An old salt once told me if you need a device (anemometer) to tell you the wind speed, you have no business being out at sea... I don't have one on my boat. BUT, there is one on the Sea Sprite. :) Thanks for watching!
You said “if you’re looking for a coastal cruiser” but that boat is built to sail the world, beautiful boat
You’re right on both counts: she’s beautiful and could take you anywhere! Thanks for watching!
@@boatfools great video thank you !
Sailed my SS 28 in 30 knots yesterday. Held like charm solid great boat. Easy to single hand, comfy with my young family of four
@@jesselebus3442 hell yeah !

What a find, beautiful little day or weekend sailer. The sky is the limit with a adventurous sole..
Agreed! As always, thanks for your comments and support!
The Sea Sprite is one of the sweetest designs I've ever seen. It's too bad I'm landlocked.
That is a bummer! Time for move?!?
@@boatfools - I wish I could.
Beautiful, beautiful. But that Shannon sure caught my eye!
yea.......me too !
The Shannon is beautiful!
Really looks like that is in great shape. Nice boat!
NYC! Nicest boat I’ve seen at this price point. Very impressive boat!
Sweet boat! Would love to take it out for a few days.
Like that type of sailboat! Mike from Missouri
She’s a beauty! Thanks for watching, Mike!
It's a diesel, of course it will run forever, especially in a sail boat. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
That’s the hope! Will do! And thanks for your continued support!
I have a 32’ CapeDory, it looks like one.

Yes, a dodger would be ideal. There is a frame - just need the fabric! Thanks for watching!
Hmm, Im guessing that a gravity drain for the head storage tank could be troublesome 🤔unless it’s at least a three inch drain 🤔
A great boat, well and truly professionally refurbished, for $1K/foot.🤔💥💯❤️🔥
It looks an awful lot like a Cape Dory 28. Which is a great boat.
She does, a little bit. A nice looking CD 28 just up for sale up here. Hoping to get a look at her. Thanks for watching!
They still pull good money. Here’s one 1984 Sea Sprite 34 Sloop
A$88,653 😮
Wow! Impressive, if they get that. Solid boats!
Unreal. If in the PNW, I'd make an offer tomorrow!!
Yeah, you’re pretty far away! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful boat, the turn off was that rat nest of wiring.
I think there are 7 wires on this boat. I bet we could straighten them out! :)
I had a 28 Irwin that was almost a sister ship to this boat and paid 5500 for it. I think it was a better boat
I looked up the Irwin 38 - not a bad lookin' ride!
Great song
Very nice. I'm thinking about this. I have Quickstep 24 with a diesel. The cabin is just a tad small. This would be a nice upgrade. Hmmm. .
It is really a sweet boat. You should go look at her! Those Quicksteps are fantastic but this boat will blow you away!
Which yard in Lincolnville? I may do that this coming week or so.
Email the seller at info@mainevarnish.com. He will give you all the details. If you’re not too far away, she is definitely worth the look!
Stunning ❤
She definitely is!
Oh sooo nice
when you say "sell it to someone who will give it tender loving care"
How much does that kind of care cost annually? (approx)
buy one and find out.....
It’s more about not putting her into the charter biz where the wear and tear would be a lot. Not a lot to maintain on this boat…
10% of the value of the boat, annually. Rule of thumb. Averages out over a decade so you basically buy the boat a second time.
It has a 40 year old engine with uknown hours. It gives up the ghost a new one will cost you more than you paid for the boat.
@@SOLDOZER Probably less. But point well-taken. Never buy a used boat (20--40 years old) with original engine.
Very, very nice 👌
So nice!
There was one of these for sale in Kemah TX a few years back for 8k. But not in this shape.
They can definitely be found for less but, as you say, not in this condition! Thanks for watching!
Refitting a boat, even a small one like this, is outrageously costly.
Boat Fools! Where was this boat refit? I have a Sea Sprite 28 and have been searching for yard to bring her into the 21st century.
Hello! Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment. She was refit in Lincolnville, Maine, at: www.mainevarnish.com/services
They are super people and do amazing work.
How much for the Shannon?
She might be on the market soon… stay tuned!
Can you sell in India?
The entire Sea Sprite line is generally very good.
Couldn’t agree more. Beautiful boats and well-mannered. Thanks for watching!
Sounds like some confuse sail boats with RV's
where is she located?
She’s in Midcoast Maine, in Lincolnville.
I hate it when they don't show the vessel under sail!
Way over priced
Actually, she just sold for her full asking price…

Why a Trump ad? Made me skip this.
Unfortunately we’re not in control of what ads are aired during the video… Certainly that is unfortunate!
They don’t choose the ads
Awww, did you get triggered 😢😂
Your blind hate is going to get everyone killed. Turn off the lying mainstream m3dea. Think for yourself.
This isn't about politics, it's about boats. Perhaps you could suspend your insane hatred for a few minutes?
