    I have a 32’ CapeDory, it looks like one.

    That one is a real find. Fit and finish is stunning. That Universal diesel is pre-Westerbeake buyout of Universal (1990), so parts are cheaper and readily available at any auto parts store. Universal got the blocks from Kubota and fit them out with aftermarket components from auto industry. That one really is tempting to make a call on ... I just wish it was the 34 for a bit more beam and overall space.

    • @boatfools

      The 34 is really an ideal size. This was bigger than I was expecting for 28 feet, but I get your point. As always, thanks for your feedback and support!

    Hmm, Im guessing that a gravity drain for the head storage tank could be troublesome 🤔unless it’s at least a three inch drain 🤔

    A nice boat for one lucky guy or gal. Wind vane self steering with spray dodger. Ideal for a couple for gentle coastal cruising. Prefer these smaller yachts as you can brace yourself whereas modern Dufours are harbour boats.

    • @boatfools

      Yes, a dodger would be ideal. There is a frame - just need the fabric! Thanks for watching!

    Very nice. I'm thinking about this. I have Quickstep 24 with a diesel. The cabin is just a tad small. This would be a nice upgrade. Hmmm. .

    Oh sooo nice
    when you say "sell it to someone who will give it tender loving care"
    How much does that kind of care cost annually? (approx)

      buy one and find out.....

    • @boatfools

      It’s more about not putting her into the charter biz where the wear and tear would be a lot. Not a lot to maintain on this boat…

    • @ronagoodwell2709

      10% of the value of the boat, annually. Rule of thumb. Averages out over a decade so you basically buy the boat a second time.

    • @TOMVUTHEPIMP

      It has a 40 year old engine with uknown hours. It gives up the ghost a new one will cost you more than you paid for the boat.

    • @ronagoodwell2709

      @@TOMVUTHEPIMP Probably less. But point well-taken. Never buy a used boat (20--40 years old) with original engine.

    Love the boat. Turnkey? Not really. No auto pilot, no wind vane, no solar, no dodger, no Bimini, no windlass, basic electronics needed- AIS, VHF, GPS, Depth/speed & Wind. Misc other necessities - ground tackle, etc. beautiful boat but not ready for solo sailing unless it is used for day sailing.

    • @boatfools

      It has most of those - depth, VHF, wind, speed. Doesn’t need a windlass. Has a dodger frame. It is ready to day sail, weekend, or extended cruise now. I would take this boat as is on an extended sail now. One would only be limited by water (approx 50 gallons). I didn’t pitch this as an extended blue water cruiser… But, I appreciate your opinion!

    • @mountainmandale1587

      Vincent, this is a local bay and day sailboat. A pocket coastal crusier on good days. It’s not meant to go to Europe in summer or the Caribbean for winter. The climate, weather and and seas are so bad now dunno why anyone would bother with that struggle

    Dumping black water in the ocean is unacceptable these days, even if it is legal. She needs a pump out connection as well as the instruments mentioned by @vincentmiceli2554. Beautifully done, though.

    • @boatfools

      You make an excellent point. We need to protect our oceans. She does have a pump out connection, so that is good. She also has a slew of instruments. An old salt once told me if you need a device (anemometer) to tell you the wind speed, you have no business being out at sea... I don't have one on my boat. BUT, there is one on the Sea Sprite. :) Thanks for watching!
