Gorgeous boat, one to fall in love with. 35K seems a good price for someone who can do a lot of the work to finish her. I'd want a much closer look at the rework done by the previous owner. It looked like he may have known what he was doing and was a perfectionist, in which case I'd have more confidence in what's there. I'd also want to know more about how she was damaged to cause leaks around that chain plate. For a new owner who will sub out all the work, 35K might be pricey, but perhaps made up for by the passionate attachment one could have with this sailboat.

I haven't seen the video yet, but I read an article in today's NY Times " How a Self-Published Book broke all the rules and became a best seller" and thought of you. The book is "The Shadow Work Journal" and it doesn't sound good. But, it does document the decline of the traditional publishing industry, so I thought you might find it interesting. A Mariner 40, for example is built in Asia and is 100 times stronger then a Morgan and I like Morgan yachts.

Centerboards are not ballast and if you lost the board, the vessel would not be in any trouble. Secondly, if the board was stuck down, (unlikely) but since it swings back, you could still get to your dock.

One thing I didn't mention is how light it is in the cabin. The visibility in the cabin was really great. It felt more like being inside a car than in a boat cabin.

Wow. That thing is absurd. 39 kts?! I'll be lucky to get to 9 kts under full sail dead downwind in a gale. And thats good enough for me.

Older C&C's have solid GRP hulls and balsa-cored decks. Unfortunately, the decks tend to get spongy because the deck hardware (stanchions, etc.) was not installed with sufficient water ingress protection, and the balsa is not sufficiently sealed in cells (unlike old Grampians, for example). But they are such lovely boats, like the C&C 30 Mk. 1, the 35-I & II, and 27 mks. 1-4.

What a steal! I raced against CC40's back in the day and they always sailed to the Rating Rule.

I should mention that a 1978 Endeavor 32 recently sold here in Milwaukee for $7,000.00 ! This boat seemed to be in good working order with a running diesel. The four ft draft of this boat is fantastic for Chesapeake, Florida, and Bahamas cruising.

DIELECTRIC grease is Not Conductive. Get your ohm meter out and check out a smear for resistance yourself. Conductive grease is made with carbon black, graphite, silver, copper or aluminum oxides & powders.

Norstar sold out to Pacific Seacraft in 1983. They only produced 3 Anastasias. I know I worked for them and helped build the 1st one, plug and hull mold. The hull was hand laid. No chop gun was used. Steal this boat...! we also built "The Flicka" don't know why this is wrongly listed as a 1991...

What if my mast does not have a conduit in it? Any idea how to add one? I mean, you don't want the conduit itself rattling/moving in the mast as well, right? I have no idea how a conduit can be fixed within the mast.

Boatfool, I’m really enjoying your posts, especially of your Morgan. My wife and I just purchased a 1980 Morgan 382 in Mexico. She is everything we could have hoped and dreamed of. Would love to share specifics and nitty gritty of your vessel. Hear what you’ve found works and what doesn’t or just shoot ship about our Morgan’s. Im a product designer by trade so naturally I’ve created a 3D model inside and out of the 382. Originally it was for fun to 3d print a scaled model for my desk, but I’ve recently been creating wiring and plumbing diagrams in the model for practical use. I was hoping I could personally message you but don’t know how on TH-cam. Anywho keep it up!

Real effort 👌 and cost to do that with ur mast yearly ? Unless u have a trailer sailer , space , or vessel at a mariner ..most boats on a mooring..limited .
