Thanks for all your videos, I study them over and over. I have a 2007.5 LMM with 360,000 miles, original owner. My plan is to do a frame up rebuild at 400,000 miles . Frame, tranny, bottom &top end overhaul, tank recondition, all new brakes, 6” lift with all new joints, exhaust and intake system, new turbo, new dash, and new driver front seat, new wiring, all new rubber . My budget is 50K.
5" Exhaust to get more of that throatier sound ya want and keep it stock. Love this build all the way through its an inspiration and encouraging to get back to embracing the unknown and trying something new and learning as I go.
Nice job! I recommend keeping the ride height stock. That way it should fit in most standard garages. My LB7 has a 4” Banks exhaust and sounds great. Recommend a 4” with a 5” tip.
For cleaning the nuts and bolts, I stick them in a magnetic tray and sandblast them. 3 trays. one for parts to be blasted, one for parts getting blasted, and the third for stuff that's blasted. Fine glass bead is the best, and doesn't cut aluminum to pieces. The injector sleeve getting stuck is where I like those Edelbrock heads. No removable sleeves to stick. Looks like I have to do a bottom end on the Farm's duramax. Was driving to the dump, and a knock started, and got louder. Shut it off, and dad came with the tractor and we pulled it home. Engine oil filter is full of bronze. Hopefully, it's not pooched. 4" exhaust, and maybe a leveling kit for the lift. Try a milwaukee right angle impact. You'll love that thing for these trucks.
Stock suspension or 2-3” increase. No bro wheels. 4” exhaust but try to keep it quieter with the biggest most free flowing muffler you can find. Try looking at mufflers for semis that might fit underneath. There’s more options for different sizes for semis. I love my old lb7 but over the loudness and love how quiet the new diesels are. Just my humble opinion of course The old truck progress is looking good
Because it’s not going crazy build, 4” exhaust will be perfect for it. And just level it with some helper bags to make sure it can be the work horse (that’s really nice) and just do work and be happy.
Hey Josh, I'd keep with stock height, but go with the 5" exhaust for the deeper sound. Keep up the good work! Glad you're feeling better too. Happy New Year!
You should take a wooden hammer handle and tap the faces of each piston on the ild engine to see if the rod bearings and wrist pins are rattling around
I’ve got an lb7 I had fueling issues no stop after replacing my injectors (the mechanic did a bad job) myself and ordered a air dog and key tag off your website and man what a different truck just so much happier I used to have some surging due to it not having very good fuel pressure but now holy moly what a happy truck she’s got 378,000 and I’m never getting rid of it I love the lb7s
Love my 6” Zone lift kit on my 02 1500 HD. When I did the kit about 5 years ago I redid all the rest of the suspension and steering parts up front. Rides better than it ever did. After redoing my rear frame area like you did at that time I use POR15. It didn’t hold up. I’m using the Rustoleum tractor paint your using now. I also had to redo the 3 cross members. Wish I had the room though so I could pull my cab line you did. Your definitely doing it correctly.
This has been one of my favorite builds you have done since I started watching. This is the kind of build I would like to do to a 2nd gen Ram someday. If your keeping those tires go stock, if you go 6in lift get bigger tires.
I'm a stock guy on my lmm I've had lifted trucks they're great just don't want to put the money out lol I'm 4 "" exhaust guy it's not to loud another fantastic show Josh absolutely loved it I've owned my 08 lmm for over a year now love it gettyready to move from socal to Florida I've lived here since 1959 can't take the politics and invasion anymore lol
I also have an 08 lmm. And I was born and raised in Los Angeles/ Long Beach . And I was born in 79 and left in 99. It was a great place growing up. But you couldn't pay me to live there again. And yes the politics there are trash now. I live in Georgia now. And use my lmm to run hotshot.
You’re plugging right along with your build. I put a five inch exhaust for a little more sound out the back. Glad you’re feeling better this sickness is all over the place. Hope you have a happy new year
Meet in the middle. 4” suspension lift and 4” exhaust. If you go big, you might as well ditch the IFS and get a WFO kit and throw a Dana 60 under it with a high steer kit. 😊 🇺🇸
Just to add to that I'm towing my toy hauler across the United States with it I towed my sister's trailer with her Duramax last year there's nothing like towing cross country with a Duramax so comfortable and powerful
Go with 5”. I run that with a flo pro twister resonator for no drone, it sounds perfect and not annoyingly loud. Mostly stock except DHD Up pipes and manifolds, air dog and some tunes. Take care brother happy new year
Hello Josh. Taring down the old engine. And moving everything over to the other engine. Can't wait to hear it run. I'll keep you in my prayers .🙏 Merry Belated Christmas to you and your family. 🎄 🎅🤶
I have this truck. Mine is same color but long box 4 door. I want the exact rebuild your doing minus the lift. I want mine to stand out as basically factory but super reliable. Love all your builds but this one holds my interest just a little better.
You should do a 5 inch with a 8 inch tso tip or maybe even a single stack, keep it stock or do a three inch drop, did it on mine and it rides so much smoother
Chassis looks sweet like the color combination. I'd normally say lift it, but I think stock with 33's for this build. for the exhaust go with 4" less drone and anything aftermarket is already far better flow then factory.
Stock ride height and 4in exhaust. I'm a fan of the old school lifted look. I'm not a fan of the big rim small sidewall look and the wheels hanging way out of the fenders lol. I'm sure I'm in the minority on this now days. I miss my LB7 . I loved the way my 4in exhaust sounded
Ditto the 4" exhaust and stock suspension, ie. no lift kit. Watching you restore this one makes me jealous, having sold my 2003 LB7 last year with 114K miles on it. I just didn't have the time or talent to take it under wing. Rocker panel and fender flair minor rust...mostly a summer driver. Sold it for $10K to good, new , home. I miss the old girl though!
I wanna say 5 soooo bad for the sound but 4 seems like the more practical option for the build your after. Epic either way. Keep it up Josh....love the vids
Always enjoy watching your videos. You’re the one that got me into duramax. I currently have a 04.5 lly duramax I’ve been working on. I would leave it stock and 5 inch exhaust.
5 inch Zone lift would be nice to see since your doing a budget type build nothing too crazy but nice enough with quality in mind or the kryptonite 2.5 stage 3 leveling kit. I’d do the 5 inch exhaust with the 3 inch down pipe!
4" exhaust, stock. Better mileage. Love what you're doing. Get feeling better, Happy New Year !!!
Happy new year!
Gross
Happy new year right back

I would go 4 inch exhaust. Not too loud and won’t blow the kids ears out. Stock height also.
For cleaning the nuts and bolts, I stick them in a magnetic tray and sandblast them. 3 trays. one for parts to be blasted, one for parts getting blasted, and the third for stuff that's blasted. Fine glass bead is the best, and doesn't cut aluminum to pieces.

Try a milwaukee right angle impact. You'll love that thing for these trucks.
The worst part about these videos is when the video ends, I always look forward to the build videos. Keep up the good work!
More to come! Thanks 🙏
4 inch pipes 6 inch lift. Small wheel fat tires. Old school cool 😎
Just my humble opinion of course
The old truck progress is looking good
I'm with you no ghetto looking wheels
4" exhaust and keep it stock height with stock wheels. A "sleeper" build. AWESOME
Go with the Fleece remote oil pressure line for your turbo. Nice upgrade over the line from the valley.
Go stock! No lift!
Daily working truck - stock height. No flash, all function. I'm happy to see a survivor getting back on the road.
5” exhaust, leveled on 35’s with 2020+ Denali wheels.
Thanks for the videos
5 inch exhaust, it’s the best souding ever 👌
4 inch, leveling kit, ultimate daily driver
I would love to buy it when you’re done!😂👍
Awesome job looking good. 4” & leveled with those rims
Leave it stock but with a 5 inch exhaust and just throw some nice aftermarket wheels and tires on it make it look like a stock sleeper build.
Leveled with 4" exhaust.
4-in duels would look sick on it
I think keeping it stock would make it look classic man since all your other trucks are big n badass!
You should take a wooden hammer handle and tap the faces of each piston on the ild engine to see if the rod bearings and wrist pins are rattling around
4in mprb with a muffler, great sound no drone. If you lift it out a solid axle under it. With the ifs I would leave it stock.
I was super sick at Christmas too. 4" exhaust,
A violent fuel knock can be quite misleading 😂
4" exhaust. With stock to a leveling kit. With those wheels and tires that are on it.
Keep the ride heights stock 4 inches exhaust with a small muffler to help cut down drone at a 6 inch tip
Real nice job you have done!!
5 inch exhaust and stock height no lift will look better !!
Thanks
Gary
I’ve got an lb7 I had fueling issues no stop after replacing my injectors (the mechanic did a bad job) myself and ordered a air dog and key tag off your website and man what a different truck just so much happier I used to have some surging due to it not having very good fuel pressure but now holy moly what a happy truck she’s got 378,000 and I’m never getting rid of it I love the lb7s
That’s awesome to hear man
Definitely 5 Inch exhaust!!!!
Love my 6” Zone lift kit on my 02 1500 HD. When I did the kit about 5 years ago I redid all the rest of the suspension and steering parts up front. Rides better than it ever did.

Happy new year, and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
I love these types of videos I cant get enough of them
Thank you! You too!
4” exhaust, 6” lift with keys torqued down to help geometry of front end. A slightly lifted/leveled look is mean.
I have an 02 that needs LOTS of love. Cab corners are goin'
Leveling kit and 4 inch exhaust. Enjoying the channel and this build.
This has been one of my favorite builds you have done since I started watching. This is the kind of build I would like to do to a 2nd gen Ram someday. If your keeping those tires go stock, if you go 6in lift get bigger tires.

Born and raised in so cal now 63 years later I. Leaving as well. I've got a tweeked federal emissions standard..no egr or cat. Lb7 03. Great truck
4" and stock nice and clean with a bit of a Rumble...
I’d say maybe put a small lift kit on just enough to fit 35s also dont forget that flatbed, maybe even an aluminum one so it weighs less
4” stock ride height . Happy new year !!
Leveling kit, you already have a 6'' lifted duramax
You’re plugging right along with your build. I put a five inch exhaust for a little more sound out the back. Glad you’re feeling better this sickness is all over the place. Hope you have a happy new year
I do a leveling kit on this project
5 inch exhaust more growl and whistle, stock but leveled height in my opinion with leveling keys on 33s would be nice.
Awesome video this thing is coming out badass!!
Happy new years.
You should reverse level it with John C garage's kit! 5" all the way
6" lift also 5" exhaust!!! Lol its a must god bless brother
You forgot to add a new steering wheel on the Wife max. They are discontinued by it away
5” exhaust! Truck is definitely looking better every video my friend
4” exhaust and level the truck. Love the HSP blue looks like Detroit Lions blue. Go lions beat the cowboys this Saturday 😁
6” lift all the way man!!
Man leave it stock looks amazing! What a prize that would be to own!!!
4” and just level. Nice work so far!
Josh, go with a
6” Lift
5” Exhaust
Stock height and 5 inch pipe. Looks awesome
Chassis looks sweet like the color combination. I'd normally say lift it, but I think stock with 33's for this build. for the exhaust go with 4" less drone and anything aftermarket is already far better flow then factory.
4” for sure!!
Big fan of 5” on an lb7 with a good muffler. Sounds good and deep!
Oh and id say stock height and a 4 inch exhaust. I run a 5 inch myself on my lmm. But this build i think the 4 is the way to go.
Stock suspension and 4” exhaust would be my preference.
5 inch exhaust with a 6 inch lift.
Happy new years and love the vids!!!!
5” hood stack on stock height with 24✖️14 JTX wheels ✌️
Happy New Year Josh, 5" inch exhaust and leveling kit.
Kryptonite level kit and 4" exhaust.
Better looks than stock but still functional and probably better fuel economy
I wanna say 5 soooo bad for the sound but 4 seems like the more practical option for the build your after. Epic either way. Keep it up Josh....love the vids
No lift, just level it if anything. Keep it a practical truck that a working man will appreciate.
4 inch exhaust…leave it stock ride height. You are doing an amazing job. Hope you are feeling better.
I have 4 inch straight pipe with the compound setup on my lml and it sounds awesome. Go 4 inch.
Check pressed in crank pins for the timing gear not the cam pin
I'd go 4-inch exhaust, 4-inch lift that way It's not crazy high but you get a little ground clearance, Do the whole number 4 theme.LOL.
I'd like to see it with 6" lift on 37s. Love the lb7!
4” exhaust would be perfect
I love the sound of 5” mbrp exhaust! I’d say 5”
Always enjoy watching your videos. You’re the one that got me into duramax. I currently have a 04.5 lly duramax I’ve been working on. I would leave it stock and 5 inch exhaust.
5" exhaust with a 6" lift!!
4 inch with MBRP cool duals
I think you should leave the cab and bed the way it is exterior wise and make it really nice inside 😂 roll up to a truck meet all rusty.
I like your thinking 😂
Budget build, 60g’s later. Prefect budget build.
😂😂 this is a correct statement
5" exhaust definitely. And i think a 4" lift would be perfect
I would install the Zone 3 inch kit with upper A arms
I learn a lot from you Josh your channel is awesome keep up the good work happy new year
Absolutely love how it’s coming along happy new year
I'd say level it only, 4 inch exhaust. And upgraded tie rods of course.
I would say 4” with stock to 2” of lift.
5 inch Zone lift would be nice to see since your doing a budget type build nothing too crazy but nice enough with quality in mind or the kryptonite 2.5 stage 3 leveling kit. I’d do the 5 inch exhaust with the 3 inch down pipe!
Definitely 5" never know if you're going to tune it later down the road
Keep it stock height brother, 5"exhaust it'll look and sound amazing!!!
Please take the extra duramax motor and put it in the older tahoe or yukon you got !! Im more than positive you can get it done
Stock height maybe lowered with 2” drop shackles and 4” exhaust
Stock & 5” exhaust there will be less back pressure on the Pistons
Leveled with a 5” exhaust
Gotta go 6 inch lift with a 5 inch exhaust. 22x14s with 35x15.5r22. Some people will disagree but I like big and beefy 😂
