@@TruckMasterYeah, I ordered 3 fenders after market ones like that and they fit all the same way like that 1. You're gonna get is pipe pointed off of a pick and polka or something like that. What's rust free? Cause that's what I did. I bought like 5 or 6 fingers and they all fit the same way. I think it's how they're making their molds.
I’ve been in the auto body/collision industry for 35years and this is one of the very few PROFESSIONALLY done jobs at a shop that I’ve seen on TH-cam or anywhere for that matter…they are going to the 9’s on this truck!! My hats off to this team at A&D!! (I live in Pa.otherwise I’d be asking for a job there!!!) I’m overly impressed!!!
As always Truckmaster another great video. Time consuming yes..but that's Hot Rodding ! Patience is the key. But it is getting there. The other take away is that you are getting an amazing education in the process. The ups, the downs, the hard work, every bit of it. Which is the stuff that when you reach that final day. You detail and polish it and you jump in the driver's seat and turn the key. You will see the finished product but you will always know what went into the effort to get it done. That is the best part of Hot Rodding. 😎👍 Looking forward to the next video.
I seen a truck today on the way home from work with that same bed like you have… pretty cool Ive never paid attention to it before I seen you mention how rare they are!
I hated adjusting these trucks when they were new in the dealership body shop and customers complained about gaps. I was a trim mechanic and then a licensed auto body mechanic.
You should have them write an invoice on what this job actually cost when it’s finished to show people to stay away from rusty trucks lol i bet it’s a crap ton
Man I’m looking for a Duramax 4 door any in your area around $10,000 cash I’m looking for one to pull my camper can’t find any decent ones in Wisconsin love the channel learn a lot and trucks looking beautiful
The doors open and close. It hauls people. It has a motor. It hauls cargo. It can tow a trailer. What more can you want? It works. Oh. I got it. You need an amazing sound system. The sound system will complete the project.
@@TruckMaster nope. Love the build videos. Looking forward to the final product. More of these need rescued. I drive a 2004 LB7 all day every day. One day, I'll do a frame-off rebuild...one day. And by the way, I still have the OEM Bose sterio in mine...it's functional. 🤓
+1 on the seats. I have the leather version and they're way more comfy than my gmt900 Escalade seats. I can only imagine I would have to take out a second mortgage to get that kind of work done. Was it worth it getting the cheapest Dmax on marketplace?
Personally Josh I think you could have saved a ton of time & money if you had just flown out here to the West Coast ( Arizona, NewMexico or my home state of California) and just bought a rust free truck with a blown motor or trans & carted it back home to do what you did on the “ Rustmax” so far . My 22 year old GMC Sierra 2500 has almost ZERO rust as the climate out here has its benefits. And YES, the seats in these early Trucks are SOOOO comfortable. 😆😉. Take care buddy , and Hopefully all goes smoothly from here on out till the final reveal…🤞
I just got done taking my 9 blade out of my lmm and installing a 10 blade. The 9 blade sounds good and all but was just too much for a daily. If anyone's interested it's up for sale RDS 9 blade 64mm 04 1/2 - 10 with 7000 miles I'd cut someone a great deal on it
There's different grades of aftermarket parts, but, it's still aftermarket parts. And like the guy said in the video, factory parts don't always fit perfectly either. With that being said, factory oem parts usually fit better & are almost always better quality material. Of course oem parts cost a premium but you get what you pay for.
Hey Josh watch your channel a lot. Just wondering the phone number of the place in Canada. You probably know what I wanted for. I live in Oscoda Michigan.
Your mistake was getting new aftermarket parts, you should’ve gotten rust free oem stuff and trust me they are out there especially in Wisconsin and Michigan since that’s where all the part flippers are. I think you took the body shop word for getting new parts and it bitt you
Actually it’s the other way around these guys are supporting this build as well. Also it’s so cool that they allow me to film in the shop for the viewers.
Guessing not that many viewers live within driving distance of this shop. So while you’d think so with his subscriber count, it isn’t the case in reality.
We are very thankful! Josh has been a long time customer or ours and this project has been a lot of fun. More business is great, would you like us to paint your truck?🙂🙂

That generation were the best GM seats ever.
My 06 half ton had the most comfy seats. I wish I could put my seats out of my 06 in my 16

20:47 the absolute comfiest seats in any truck by far

Stay positive Josh, keep rockin it,it’ll be worth it
Man what an insane amount of work.
Yes, it is!
I seen a truck today on the way home from work with that same bed like you have… pretty cool Ive never paid attention to it before I seen you mention how rare they are!
I get bummed when these videos end lol the anticipation of seeing this build done!
Soon my friend!
The striker on the rocker. You can chim that and it will just the doors a little bit.
When you regret buying a body part unit the day you install it, I hear you and I've taken the walk of shame when I bought something.
I hated adjusting these trucks when they were new in the dealership body shop and customers complained about gaps. I was a trim mechanic and then a licensed auto body mechanic.
This will be a really primo show truck. Yes, perfection is expensive.
Color looks awesome
What a project this has become,it’ll look awesome when it’s all done
Yes Great to see project moving along ,
Gary from Alabama!!😊😊😊😊
Thanks Gary

Oh yes, we might share this on our channel. 🤑🤑🤑🤑
So awesome to see this project coming along Josh!! Love it man all the way from Montana!
Thanks Sean 👍
A lot of work but definitely worth it to keep another nice Chevy on the road 😊
I cant wait until you announce that you are going to give that truck away. I can give it a nice home here in Kentucky.😁
I have no plans to give it away anytime soon 😢
Trucks gonna be well worth it 👍
Man I’m looking for a Duramax 4 door any in your area around $10,000 cash I’m looking for one to pull my camper can’t find any decent ones in Wisconsin love the channel learn a lot and trucks looking beautiful
Thanks! It’s tough buying a decent one for $10k now a days
Could you get a part number for those door hinge retrofit kits
Have you ever seen that overhaulin show on Discovery i think it was? This is overhaulin but for trucks
Weld it!! I already previously suggested the name "General Max"
Hicksville Auto Recyclers in Hicksville Ohio they part out duramax trucks I drove from Kansas to get a front clip for my lbz
The doors open and close. It hauls people. It has a motor. It hauls cargo. It can tow a trailer. What more can you want? It works. Oh. I got it. You need an amazing sound system. The sound system will complete the project.
Can’t please them all I guess 😂😂

Man this thing has been a challenge for sure, but i know the finished product will be well worth it 🍊
I totally agree 👍
Homedepot truck 😂 cool color

I'm thinking of buying a 2005 Chevy with a dramatic & Allison trans it has 21500 miles on it what do you think?
Just another day of bodywork no big deal
What was the cost to do the Rockers and corners??
Does anyone have any tips on how to get ahold of truck master, I have a cheap lml that I think he would be interested in! It needs some work
You shoulda bought my rust free cab. Still could I suppose!!!
Looking good
Thanks 👍
Still can't wait to see this baby in orange
Me too 👍
It's so awesome!
It's orange, it would be easy to make a general lee.
That would be fun!
Aftermarket parts are the worst, I myself would have gone the used but oem atleast. Shipping would have been worth it for clean parts

I could never abandon that sweet whistle 👍
I'd be interested in the 9 blade

Are the doors aftermarket?
No they are all GM
@@TruckMaster I pass hoards of clean sheet metal here in California junkyards. It's a shame.
General Lee, all the way
I replaced my fenders with GM replacements.
i wouldve bought good oem panels and body worked them the repos are not good enough now
Hey Josh watch your channel a lot. Just wondering the phone number of the place in Canada. You probably know what I wanted for. I live in Oscoda Michigan.
You’d been better off driving to ga where I’m from bought a rust free cat eye cab guy in my business park parts a ton of these trucks
34hrs to remove and reinstall cab that’s not including paint so honestly it’s a horse a piece
Yrs please
Loving the project but that original body should have just been scrapped from the start 🤣
That should be 215000 miles.
You’re gonna need a second mortgage by the time this truck is done 💀
Dude haven’t watched ur other video’s? What
Looks like a dandy of a used door.
👍🧡🧡🧡🔥🔥🔥
First
There will be way too much orange. You can have to much of 1 colour and it starts to make things look bad
If you need a door I could ship you a rust free door if you just want to pay shipping
You can have the door. Shit if you want to come to me I can get you set up with a pile of parts for a good deal
Your mistake was getting new aftermarket parts, you should’ve gotten rust free oem stuff and trust me they are out there especially in Wisconsin and Michigan since that’s where all the part flippers are. I think you took the body shop word for getting new parts and it bitt you
It’s just the fenders and I brought those with me the body shop has nothing to do with that. The rest of the parts came from Texas
Exactly why I’ll never buy Chinese panels.
LKQ
Should have used a Cummins in that truck the dirty max it’s as good
But it would be slow
They should be thanking you for posting videos on this they might get business out of this
Actually it’s the other way around these guys are supporting this build as well. Also it’s so cool that they allow me to film in the shop for the viewers.
