People who say that never seem to face the fragility of the claim. Because you could lose a loved one in a heartbeat, or you could be raped or tortured, or face any number of adversarial things that happen to people in this world. I've experienced myself that my body is empty. Nobody there. The imagening or the "localization" of the person is happening somewhere outside the body. One think I don't understand however is who is that thinks that he or she is a separate self. It can not be the person, because how can someone that is imagined and is not real think. Therefore, it must be the Dreamer who imagines It is separate and who simply likes to have an ego for the duration of this play
@Vildana Sekavic I think it is the thought "thinking" itself. I, the thought, "think" that I am a person, when in fact, I am only a thought. There´s no "Dreamer". There´s only a thought appearing in conciousness.

There is definitely something in me that likes listening to Rupert’s talks. But I am genuinely puzzled. If ‘I’ am consciousness (or awareness), and am peace and joy, and never feel a ‘lack’ … why would I bother to manifest as form. Why would an entity that feels no ‘lack’ wish to be, or experience anything other than ‘it’ is? Why would ‘I’ wish to feel the life of a limited form, whose main desire, is a wish to return to where ‘I’ (awareness) already am?
Consciousness is not an entity but the ground for all entities to appear. You consciousness are not form nor manifest nor born. If you were to be born it would be from it through it and for it. And still no one would have been born. This knowledge doesn't culminate without direct experience. And it is not possible to say when that happens. All else is indirect and cannot possibly substitute for the final realization. When it happens, your questions and thoughts will disappear in a flash. And the effulgent self will shine alone. Exactly right. There is just one I Am, which is the only real Consciousness. Impersonal belief is the lens or filter of objectivity which instantly posits countless reference points along with the belief in space and time. The one belief wants to continue spinning out its fictional narrative and it needs to convince itself, this unreal sense of consciousness, to continue identifying as bodies. The bodies are supposed to be the perceivers and experiencers, but absolutely nothing occurs where the imaginary image seems to be. In belief only, we are the totality of what arises, but the entire fictional dream denies the wholeness and perfect indivisibility of the one divine Mind or God.

All the sudden, there is this certain conviction that nothing else is except IT. The sensations in the body and thought and feelings in the mind are rendered weightless. Fear disappear or to be more exact, there exists no reason for it. This is also felt in the body as unchanging/changeable continuous pleasant state. The mind operates fully cognizant of an ocean of peace and stillness in the background. The finality of the conversion is remarkably fully cognized unlike during the seeking stage. You have nothing to do or say or be. Laughter and deep sense joy visit from time to time. But the direct knowledge that there is no one else surpasses words. It would simply be impossible to convey due to it being all encompassing. No references to say even anything at all. All my questions, answers and thoughts left in less than few minutes one day. The only thing that set the moment apart was/is that the sense of being dead certain about it which cannot be compared to any experience before. Stay in that contemplation of awareness as much as you can. It will not disappoint. Grace is with you.
Is it as if the real I, the source, god, life itself needed to experience the consequence of giving "free will" and a sort of proclivity of the ego or false I of a body mind to forget about oneness about its own connection to the source as to experience separation and recovery with disolution of separation through "remembering" or going back to the source? What's the difference between a *bundle* of thoughts, feelings, and sensations . . . and a separate *entity* that has thoughts, feelings, and sensations ? Seems to me it's only a difference of one word. Bundle = Entity.
The questioners voice and accent sounds like the guy from the yt channel "historical italian cooking" who has an absurd amount of awesome accent in his speech. The questioner is even using food metaphors to describe his thoughts to Rupert which makes it even weirder. Since the video above is from Copenhagen, it's unlikely though.
Here Rupert says that the mind _wants_ to be deconditioned after tasting the suffering of its own conditioning. This is what I don't understand that I hope someone can please help me with? Rupert had also said many times that the mind can't suffer, because thoughts can't suffer, feelings can't suffer, etc, there is no 'i' that suffers; the 'i' itself is just a thought. How can the mind taste suffering if it's just a bundle of thinking, sensing and perceiving but there's no 'i' in or behind it or part of it that suffers? That is impacted by the suffering??
Hi J - not sure if this would help to clear things or confuse more, but will give it a shot. Don't be alarmed if I say that not only there is no answer to the question but there is not even a question to begin with! Now, if I take out the question and questioner as utter unreality, what remains? A paradox, right? Because, there appears to be those things and they don't exist either. The culmination of this unreal or apparent movement is the final resolution: direct experience. You lack no wealth of information but your doubt will not allow for it to come to fruition. Doubt betrays the ignorance that does co-exist with knowledge. Notice that we know things and we are also ignorant, it shows knowledge and ignorance can co-exist. We know we are, yet we are ignorant of the self! So, where can we go from here? Only direct and correct knowledge removes ignorance. Suppose you have never seen the sun. And many people describe it to you. Scientists, Astronomers, high school graduates and ordinary people alike give you their best they can describe. And one fine day, you see the sun! In the very instant you do, none of the accumulated information means anything! You see it right there, all questions and answers are wiped out in the very instant of your seeing. Sure you can peruse to study the sun if it is your interest, but no more doubt exists to warrant any question of its reality. The direct knowledge was the correct knowledge that destroyed the ignorance you had for ever about the sun. Otherwise, both the indirect knowledge and doubt raising ignorance lived side by side until that instant of seeing. The final seeing can never ever be gleaned from anything else, nor can its doubt removing potency be ever be attained by any other knowledge. So, keep questioning, take a heart and stand in earnest. It will happen.
I m new to his teachings too. The point is that the separte self is still present and it is this 'I' who suffers from experiences (thinking, sensing, perceiving). When the 'I' have been understood, as you assumed, then there is no problem.

Ignorance is the material cause and mind the efficient cause. The body veils and the mind projects. Unless this is seen, realization is not possible.

I suppose an ignorant mind (caught in the play thinking it’s real) suffers - human nature to suffer. Everything that happens in the play of life is taken seriously leading to trouble and strife. When the actor realises he is an actor he can simply enjoy the play of life.

Hi Truth Knight, This is how I understand it...using Spira’s analogy. Imagine there is an Actor A and the character C, that he plays. Let’s say that in the play C has an argument and kills a foe With a serial killer C really does believe he is affronted in the argument, C gets so angry that he ACTUALLY kills the foe. C believe he has an actual identity separate from the actor A... The ideal of course is that C realises he does not have an independent reality and that he is actually played by C. He also realises that the argument isn’t real and so he only PRETENDS to kill the ‘foe’ with the knife. So C’s knowledge that he is not an independent entity helps explain why his actions in the ‘world’ of the play are different.

Isn’t the questioner giving too much importance to the “I”? Ramana Maharshi says “search for this I”. Self Realisation is the only and true spiritual process where all religions lead or should lead.
To use this language, "each of our minds" reinforces the belief in personal owners and personal minds. The apparent localized entity that is "doing" the "experiencing" is not actually located and doesn't exist. There is in fact, no owner there, no perceiver there, and no experiencer there. It is impersonal belief, the lens of false objective knowing, that claims its knowing and experiencing is happening locally where the image appears to be. Nothing can be local because the atom is empty space. The explanation in the utube posits a self where there is none. To say "we" are the "agents" of creativity is absurd. Belief pretends its so-called entities are localized, but actual localization is an impossibility. It is a seeming only. There is never a "we". The one belief in objectivity can never make matter, bodies, minds, places, or conditions. It can only suggest these. What is being posited here is that "we" are little finite characters moved about like chess pieces to serve at the will of the storymaker or dreamer. But this one belief or dreamer is not divine. It is the one lie and liar. All that it is making up is fictional. There is no actual world to experience.

Those on the gross plane have high thoughts, low thoughts, good thoughts, bad thought all kinds of thoughts; those on the 5th ( mental) plane of advanced conscious awareness have high thoughts, low thoughts, good thoughts. Whereas those advanced souls on the 5th mental plane are the CREATOR OF THOUGHTS , The MASTER OF THOUGHTS and can -at will - send anyone anywhere in any of the 11,000 world’s inhabited by humans in varying degrees of mind ( thoughts) and heart ( feelings) ... can send inspirational thoughts, evil thoughts, illuminating thoughts, etc. same with feelings ( emotions). Those on the 6th plane of emotional “ feelings” are the Creators and Masters of all feelings and can send transmit anyone on the gross plane in any universe any feeling. If they want you to be inspired or have a glimpse of bliss they will send the emotion to you. Great vocalists who vibrate on a high level receive the ability from the 6th plane Masters. I've experienced myself that my body is empty. Nobody there. The imagening or the "localization" of the person is happening somewhere outside the body. One think I don't understand however is who is that thinks that he or she is a separate self. It can not be the person, because how can someone that is imagined and is not real think. Therefore, it must be the Dreamer who imagines It is separate and who simply likes to have an ego for the duration of this play

There is definitely something in me that likes listening to Rupert’s talks.
But I am genuinely puzzled.
If ‘I’ am consciousness (or awareness), and am peace and joy, and never feel a ‘lack’ … why would I bother to manifest as form.
Why would an entity that feels no ‘lack’ wish to be, or experience anything other than ‘it’ is?
Why would ‘I’ wish to feel the life of a limited form, whose main desire, is a wish to return to where ‘I’ (awareness) already am?
Consciousness is not an entity but the ground for all entities to appear. You consciousness are not form nor manifest nor born. If you were to be born it would be from it through it and for it. And still no one would have been born. This knowledge doesn't culminate without direct experience. And it is not possible to say when that happens. All else is indirect and cannot possibly substitute for the final realization. When it happens, your questions and thoughts will disappear in a flash. And the effulgent self will shine alone. Exactly right. There is just one I Am, which is the only real Consciousness. Impersonal belief is the lens or filter of objectivity which instantly posits countless reference
points along with the belief in space and time.
The one belief wants to continue spinning out its fictional narrative and it needs to convince itself, this unreal sense of consciousness, to continue identifying as bodies. The bodies are supposed to be the perceivers and experiencers, but absolutely nothing occurs where the imaginary image seems to be. In belief only, we are the totality of what arises, but the entire fictional dream denies the wholeness and perfect indivisibility of the one divine Mind or God.

All the sudden, there is this certain conviction that nothing else is except IT. The sensations in the body and thought and feelings in the mind are rendered weightless. Fear disappear or to be more exact, there exists no reason for it. This is also felt in the body as unchanging/changeable continuous pleasant state. The mind operates fully cognizant of an ocean of peace and stillness in the background. The finality of the conversion is remarkably fully cognized unlike during the seeking stage. You have nothing to do or say or be. Laughter and deep sense joy visit from time to time. But the direct knowledge that there is no one else surpasses words. It would simply be impossible to convey due to it being all encompassing. No references to say even anything at all. All my questions, answers and thoughts left in less than few minutes one day. The only thing that set the moment apart was/is that the sense of being dead certain about it which cannot be compared to any experience before. Stay in that contemplation of awareness as much as you can. It will not disappoint. Grace is with you.

Here Rupert says that the mind _wants_ to be deconditioned after tasting the suffering of its own conditioning. This is what I don't understand that I hope someone can please help me with? Rupert had also said many times that the mind can't suffer, because thoughts can't suffer, feelings can't suffer, etc, there is no 'i' that suffers; the 'i' itself is just a thought.
How can the mind taste suffering if it's just a bundle of thinking, sensing and perceiving but there's no 'i' in or behind it or part of it that suffers? That is impacted by the suffering??
Hi J - not sure if this would help to clear things or confuse more, but will give it a shot. Don't be alarmed if I say that not only there is no answer to the question but there is not even a question to begin with! Now, if I take out the question and questioner as utter unreality, what remains? A paradox, right? Because, there appears to be those things and they don't exist either. The culmination of this unreal or apparent movement is the final resolution: direct experience. You lack no wealth of information but your doubt will not allow for it to come to fruition. Doubt betrays the ignorance that does co-exist with knowledge. Notice that we know things and we are also ignorant, it shows knowledge and ignorance can co-exist. We know we are, yet we are ignorant of the self! So, where can we go from here? Only direct and correct knowledge removes ignorance. Suppose you have never seen the sun. And many people describe it to you. Scientists, Astronomers, high school graduates and ordinary people alike give you their best they can describe. And one fine day, you see the sun! In the very instant you do, none of the accumulated information means anything! You see it right there, all questions and answers are wiped out in the very instant of your seeing. Sure you can peruse to study the sun if it is your interest, but no more doubt exists to warrant any question of its reality. The direct knowledge was the correct knowledge that destroyed the ignorance you had for ever about the sun. Otherwise, both the indirect knowledge and doubt raising ignorance lived side by side until that instant of seeing. The final seeing can never ever be gleaned from anything else, nor can its doubt removing potency be ever be attained by any other knowledge. So, keep questioning, take a heart and stand in earnest. It will happen.
I m new to his teachings too. The point is that the separte self is still present and it is this 'I' who suffers from experiences (thinking, sensing, perceiving). When the 'I' have been understood, as you assumed, then there is no problem.

Ignorance is the material cause and mind the efficient cause. The body veils and the mind projects. Unless this is seen, realization is not possible.

This is how I understand it...using Spira’s analogy.
Imagine there is an Actor A and the character C, that he plays.
Let’s say that in the play C has an argument and kills a foe
With a serial killer C really does believe he is affronted in the argument, C gets so angry that he ACTUALLY kills the foe.
C believe he has an actual identity separate from the actor A...
The ideal of course is that C realises he does not have an independent reality and that he is actually played by C. He also realises that the argument isn’t real and so he only PRETENDS to kill the ‘foe’ with the knife.
So C’s knowledge that he is not an independent entity helps explain why his actions in the ‘world’ of the play are different.

Nothing can be local because the atom is empty space. The explanation in the utube posits a self where there is none. To say "we" are the "agents" of creativity is absurd. Belief pretends its so-called entities are localized, but actual localization is an impossibility. It is a seeming only. There is never a "we". The one belief in objectivity can never make matter, bodies, minds, places, or conditions. It can only suggest these. What is being posited here is that "we" are little finite characters moved about like chess pieces to serve at the will of the storymaker or dreamer. But this one belief or dreamer is not divine. It is the one lie and liar. All that it is making up is fictional. There is no actual world to experience.

Those on the gross plane have high thoughts, low thoughts, good thoughts, bad thought all kinds of thoughts; those on the 5th ( mental) plane of advanced conscious awareness have high thoughts, low thoughts, good thoughts. Bad thoughts, evil thoughts, etc so you might ask What’s the difference between someone’s thoughts on the gross sphere and someone on the spiritually advanced 5th mental plane?

The gross plane human thoughts ( that’s about 99.999 of humanity) are uncontrollable , we do not know what our next thought will be or where it came from.
Whereas those advanced souls on the 5th mental plane are the CREATOR OF THOUGHTS , The MASTER OF THOUGHTS and can -at will - send anyone anywhere in any of the 11,000 world’s inhabited by humans in varying degrees of mind ( thoughts) and heart ( feelings) ... can send inspirational thoughts, evil thoughts, illuminating thoughts, etc.
same with feelings ( emotions). Those on the 6th plane of emotional “ feelings”
are the Creators and Masters of all feelings and can send transmit anyone on the gross plane in any universe any feeling. If they want you to be inspired or have a glimpse of bliss they will send the emotion to you. Great vocalists who vibrate on a high level receive the ability from the 6th plane Masters. And those of us who are emotionally moved by a vocalist where we sometimes say after listening to a heart felt or heart wrenching “ I’m speechless” It’s true , for those 2 or 3,minutes the song silences your mind ( your mind temporarily vanished) and opens the floodgates of your heart and soul.
