The truth of transcendental awareness seems to be an act of faith. I've listened to at least a hundred hours of Rupert over the last couple of months. There is an act of faith similar to that required by a devotional religion that awareness can answer any deficit. I'm struggling with it....
I don’t believe that the third stage has no end. Nisargadatta discribed this stage as love trying to find expression. Initially frustrated, ultimately victorious.
Awareness exists prior to thoughts and emotions that appear in it. This makes more sense if you grasp the illusion of the ego and have deep meditative experiences. If you want sources of authority on the scientific end, I would suggest the work of Sam Harris. None of this depends on any religion or dogma.
+ShakinJamacian In order for you to know that you are aware you need the knowledge that has been given to you which is thought. Otherwise you don't know that you are aware. +ShakinJamacian Well, even the question "what exists" comes out of the knowledge you have. Which is thought. Whatever exists or not, you have no way of figuring it out. All we have is to think ABOUT it. Trying to understand what life is, exists or not is futile. And there is no need for us to do so.

I am pure awareness. Okay I get that. Without awareness, I wouldn't be much of anything. But I haven't seen any reasonable explanation that the nature of my awareness is infinite both in time and space. That seems like pure conjecture to me. There is no birth and death? How do you know my awareness is not a seed that starts and ends with my physical existence? Or even if it was universal, how do I know it didn't start at some point and end at some point? Or what it's nature is--perhaps it's just a spark, nothing more. Just because I can't see and experience birth or death, or yesterday, or over there which is not here, doesn't mean it doesn't exist! Can anybody please show me how we can conclude that our awareness is infinite???
Thank you for your short talk above. I was very interested to hear about your realisation and I am impressed by the way you thoughtfully choose your words of explanation. One question did immediately came to me and I would appreciate your thoughts on the following: if "I" am that which is aware, does "that which is aware" and the awareness continue after what is commonly known as death? 🙏
It takes what it takes and a simple phrase is only going to give you the cognition, when that simple phrase by the grace of god or life is ready to be truly heard, or penetrates the self, bingo cognition of something that awareness doesn't even need to hear, how superbly insane.
...sitting 'in' awareness, abiding without need or goal, one will eventually experience LIFE itself streaming you as all, into existence. Very, very subtle, always present but hidden by the noise of the 'self'...no big thing, just being the experience of being human. De Oppresso Liber
If in order to know a finite world, awareness must limit itself into the separate self, how can we be sure that there is no limit of awareness? A limit which, with our limited mind, we cannot know?
The knowing that I am aware is limitation. There is no freedom in knowledge. Freedom starts where all knowledge ends, even the knowledge of "I am aware".
A beautiful video from a very wise man. There is however two errors, and that is firstly; that there are no numerical stages of realization. Realization and enlightenment is fathomless and as deep as the space of the universe. Secondly, there is a distinction between awareness and consciousness as with awareness there is always a distance towards the sensed object. Space between taste, sound, touch, visual and cognition. Consciousness however, has no distance, and thus is forever present and impersonal. In other words, awareness is an extension of consciousness, but not consciousness itself. So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires. What we need to do to create these jobs. And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children.
Fist awakening is seeing you are awareness of awareness and not thinking mind Second awakening is almost permanent without practice state of awareness that has no separation in time and not in space you don't fell that awareness inside body looking at the world it just one continues experience The third awakening that doesn't end that realization that the present awareness don't automatically cure all the conditions of the body (bad feelings) so now with the always present if awareness you welcome all the feelings and they conditions will lose power over time and body stay almost already relax Second awakening steel your thinkingmind Third process awakening steel your feelings body
At about 5.15 this just breaks down in terms of coherence. You don't need to take this extra step into 'non objective' 'limitless' 'knowing ' but maybe - we automatically do in the absense of 'God'. Who is the knower ? Confusing awareness which has its roots in our ancestry with a 'panpsychic' kind of consciousness is projection, and ultimately understandable in human terms, but I think it bypasses some hard existential aspects to the reality we are inextricably enmeshed in.
Still waiting to experientially discover that what I am is without limits. I ask myself of what will I be aware when I am dead and the answer seems to be nothing. Awareness seems to be very limited, I am not aware of anybody else's thoughts only my own. I'm not aware of what's happening in my friend's house right now. The list of things of which I have no awareness is huge so it definitely appears that my awareness is limited. So rationally I cannot say that awareness is without limits. Like I said I'm still waiting for some kind of experience that shows me that I'm mistaken.
He says it took 20 years. He then says it doesn't necessarily take long. No matter how long, we can benefit by listening to the foremost Shiva mantra from the Rig Veda; (access Mahamritunjaya mantra - Sacred Sounds Choir", and listen to it for 5 min per day for at least two weeks. In due time the false notion of an "I'" that seems to be in the center of the brain dissolves. In actually, that "Emptiness" (the Buddhist term), is Pure Consciousness, or Awareness "In-Itself". or Sat-Chit-Ananda. This doesn't conventionality, which is simple an expression within the universal Self.
Just when you think you have realized the empty nature of awareness, grasping lingers on. You may think, "Ah, this is the nature of the mind now I've got it." But it is precisely at this point that you lose it, because this is when conceptual grasping comes in and derails you again. In this way, the mind is carried away and distracted. Until now, because of grasping, we have regarded that which is not the mind as being the mind. We have regarded that which is not consciousness as being consciousness. Space is primordially unestablished in reality, so it's impossible for it to have any color. Likewise, the mind is beyond the past, present, and future. It is also beyond all kinds of objectification. If it were to have even a slight basis in reality and the Omniscient One could not see it, that would contradict the entire meaning of "Omniscient One." Therefore, if it had any existence at all, the Omniscient One would see it. Until now, we have been involved in rejecting and accepting due to grasping onto our emotions, joys, suffering, and delusion. Why do we fall into these states when none of them has any true existence? Remember the reality of last night's dream appearances. All of these are unestablished. None of them has objective existence. However, don't ignore actions and their consequences. from page 119. "A Spacious Path to Freedom " by Karma Chagme
"You may think, "Ah, this is the nature of the mind now I've got it." But it is precisely at this point that you lose it, because this is when conceptual grasping comes in and derails you again." I do not think this is necessarily the case actually. The mind can exist within awake awareness. We do not have to maintain a dualistic view between mind and awake awareness, the former arises within and by means of the latter. Yes, *grasping* to the comments the mind makes can pull us back into the identification pattern. But we must be clear that it is the *grasping* that does that, not the mere activity of the mind itself. If the mind wants to label stuff, if it wants to say "I got it!" or whatever else, we can let it make it's comments and get all excited. It's just the mind doing what it does. The mind's activities can simply fall into the background of our experience while awake awareness remains the foreground. Awake awareness does not have to be threatened by that. But when we hold on to the idea that mind can not do x or else we will lose contact with awake awareness -- well that itself also becomes a grasping -- grasping for a mind that doesn't do what the mind naturally does.

Fist awakening is seeing you are awareness of awareness and not thinking mind
Second awakening is almost permanent without practice state of awareness that has no separation in time and not in space you don't fell that awareness inside body looking at the world it just one continues experience
The third awakening that doesn't end that realization that the present awareness don't automatically cure all the conditions of the body (bad feelings) so now with the always present if awareness you welcome all the feelings and they conditions will lose power over time and body stay almost already relax
Second awakening steel your thinkingmind
Third process awakening steel your feelings body
At about 5.15 this just breaks down in terms of coherence. You don't need to take this extra step into 'non objective' 'limitless' 'knowing ' but maybe - we automatically do in the absense of 'God'. Who is the knower ? Confusing awareness which has its roots in our ancestry with a 'panpsychic' kind of consciousness is projection, and ultimately understandable in human terms, but I think it bypasses some hard existential aspects to the reality we are inextricably enmeshed in.
Beautiful
Wonderful crystal clear still a mistery
A wonderful experience to be guided toward awareness. But all he can do is entice.
I can relate...please share if you gain any insight/make any experiential progress on this second stage!
Just when you think you have realized the empty nature of awareness, grasping
lingers on. You may think, "Ah, this is the nature of the mind now I've got it." But it
is precisely at this point that you lose it, because this is when conceptual grasping
comes in and derails you again. In this way, the mind is carried away and
distracted. Until now, because of grasping, we have regarded that which is not the
mind as being the mind. We have regarded that which is not consciousness as
being consciousness. Space is primordially unestablished in reality, so it's
impossible for it to have any color. Likewise, the mind is beyond the past, present,
and future. It is also beyond all kinds of objectification. If it were to have even a
slight basis in reality and the Omniscient One could not see it, that would
contradict the entire meaning of "Omniscient One." Therefore, if it had any
existence at all, the Omniscient One would see it. Until now, we have been
involved in rejecting and accepting due to grasping onto our emotions, joys,
suffering, and delusion. Why do we fall into these states when none of them has
any true existence? Remember the reality of last night's dream appearances. All of
these are unestablished. None of them has objective existence. However, don't
ignore actions and their consequences. from page 119. "A Spacious Path to Freedom " by Karma Chagme

I do not think this is necessarily the case actually.
What does he mean we are limitless? I am only at stage 1. 😥
