True, I am aware of my thoughts and feelings in my mind, sensations of the body, and perceptions of the world around. After repeated practice, perhaps, Awareness feels the real me. (I identify myself as Awareness.) But it is still My thoughts, My feelings/perceptions/sensations that I am aware of. It is still very much localised. I'm not sure I'm convinced of this but since the death of my father I have begun to remember my dreams with amazing clarity every morning and I have noticed that within those dreams I am often in a cycle of different dimensions as different characters or entity's and just before I wake up to come back in to this life on earth I always feel and hear myself saying please God no I don't want to go back into that. I should add I'm living under some very negative circumstances hence why I'm looking into conciousness but I'm still fairly convinced we are all meat computers intombed in our own heads.
I'm with you and many others who think the same. About 5 years ago I learnt about NDE's and looked into the "Soul Trap" YT channels and got a shock with the information! That's why I'm deeply into Non-Duality to figure out how this matrix works and how to get of it out once and for all. I believe the secret is to understand what you truly are as divinity as opposed to who you think you are as a finite person. Hope things get better for you
As far as the question from the audience member who accuses the brain of being the problem, the brain is neutral like every other organ in the body. It is innocent and it knows nothing of the Mind or the imagination, but like Rupert said there is simply a correlation in the brain where it is involved in the process of thought but in a purely impersonal way, the way the liver processes the blood and lymph that run through it. But the liver doesn't "imagine" itself to be diseased or insane, it is simply functioning properly or not, and we don't pay attention to it the way we do to our "brains", which are simply Arbiters of thoughts that come from what we think of as the Mind. What I am trying to say is most of our brains are entirely healthy like every other organ of the body. The brain is also responsible for so many different functions throughout the body in addition to processing thought and what we consider our darkest most distressing thoughts may be more like pesky mosquitoes to the brain rather than some terrible defect generated by the brain itself. If crazy thoughts are evidence that the organ of the brain itself was defective it would make sense that many other functions of the body that are influenced by the brain would go Haywire also. But this is of course not true. Even so-called crazy people function very well as an organism on many levels. What people perceive as so distressing and disturbing in thought is the result of imagination and belief, not faulty brain tissue. How else can you explain that even regular people can feel crazy one day and fine the next. Or you might go through months or even years of deep depression and then come out of it and feel fantastic!
You are not (just) your thoughts. You are not (just) your body But whill engaged in grief we don't see that. (Denial anger fear frustration negotiations depression and ultimately... Surrender
I can vouch for this. Diagnosed insane, no hopes given, news broke both my parents to tears. Now 15-20 years later I feel cured and can’t recall what my previous problems were. Time actually does heal! Or, is there time? 😉
The main focus of my work right now is to detox people from stuff like heavy metals, industrial chemicals that are found in Foods, medications, and cosmetics, environmental toxins like mold and air and water pollution. I feel like this is a huge crisis right now, the elephant in the room, the individual toxic cumulative load that each person carries and only grows bigger every day. It is in many ways more threatening than climate change. I swear to God it is easier to wake up from thought and Trauma right now than it is to overcome for instance a side of your mouth that is full of metal as a starting point for everything else you have to endure!
Summed up best by a brief passage from the 1950s by Avatar Meher Baba: The Lover and The Beloved God is love. And love must love. And to love there must be a Beloved. But since God is Existence infinite and eternal there is no one for Him to love but Himself. And in order to love Himself, He must imagine Himself as the Beloved whom He as the lover imagines He loves. Beloved and lover implies separation. And separation creates longing; and longing causes search. And the wider and more intense the search, the greater the separation and the more terrible the longing. When longing is at its most intense point, separation is complete, and the purpose of separation, which was that love might experience itself as lover and Beloved, is fulfilled; and union follows. And when union is attained, the lover knows that he himself was all along the Beloved, whom he loved and desired union with; and that all the impossible situations that he overcame were obstacles which he himself had placed in the path to himself. To attain union is so impossibly difficult because it is impossible to become what you already are! Union is nothing other than knowledge of oneself as the Only One. ----Meher Baba
Rupert is trying sooooo earnestly to bring to us the understanding that comes to us in innocence and In unassuming.... It is for one to see ....that he is very patiently devicing a path to the pathless....As if it were possible... Almost taking us toward............ earnest gratitude.... Sir.
You have really explained the deepest layers of our being! Your description of consciousness is amazing! We have very little knowledge of ourselves. It is for the neuroscientists to investigate the ultimate basis of our life and its multiple manifestations in more tangible scientific terms. Rupert, you have gone very deep into the origins of our perceptual world.
im starting to understand the nature of counciousness more and more. this was very helpful. connects with what ive heard from other teachers and from studying religion. thank you
1:14:44 In my own experience of myself, I am eternally present. I have no limits, and thus I am infinite. I cannot be disturbed, and this I am peace itself. I cannot be grandiose or diminished by any appearance of the world and thus I am fulfilled. I know no other, and therefore love itself. I am no object and then this beauty itself. That is what awareness has to say about itself. I have no age, because I do not appear in time. I cannot be touched or moved or harmed. All of life, all of this, just a coloring. Nothing leaves a stain or trace on awareness. Life is a temporary coloring, of eternity, of this dimension this presence of eternity. Which shines in this knowledge of I am. Felt in our hearts as peace happiness love. Shines in our perceptions as beauty.
Rupert's teaching is very close to Buddhism's teaching and really appreciated for the detailed explanation. Btw, the infinite nature in my understand is either the God or the Buddha Nature. The finite nature is the 8 Consciousnesses explained in the Yagacara Buddhism.
Mushrooms blows my mind up, Rupert does the excavation work and is such a blessing to hear this. And if you think about what he is saying and HEAR . My god this is so profound. Everything is consciousness? I’m reeling from this knowing. I can hardly believe I believe this.
The first time I took mushrooms I had the experience of time becoming non existent, I felt like no time had passed since I was a little kid. It was really unique and I couldn't stop laughing, the kind of laugh that made me cry with delight and epiphany. I kept saying wow, I cannot believe this, looking at my ape like hands. They are a wonderful tool and am looking forward to trying them again soon! Take care, Peace 👍

Thank you for your teaching , i have been struggling with this concept of Consciousness for 1 year , but i started to realize that the Consciousness only can be aware of itself , i think that i have awakening glimpse from time time , i started to realize things that are so obvious and still nobody see them.

I love Rupert and Adyashanti. I found out about Rupert through a video called Stillness Speaks - The Nature Of Things. Edit: oops I meant The Transparency Of Things. I actually had to go and make sure I got the title right.
Amazing! I can grasp the understanding right now, but may have to watch numerous numerous times for consciousness, I AM, to automatically accept matter does not really exist. Talk about deep thinking!
1:05:33 I have been aware ever since. I am. I am aware of the objects, of my experience, of my source. Sinking of the mind into the heart of awareness. A relaxation into its source. Self resting. Awareness doesn't diappear.
Rupert as always very profound direct and clear. So much understanding from him. So much to learn, so easy and clear to follow his guiding. Great teacher. If I haven't awakened last year with Mooji, Rupert would finished my Ego for sure. The point that he is speaking of can be known as truth only and only trough experience of finding your true Self. All the things you ever known, falls in place like a puzzle. Life changes and enlightenment happens. Much love to Rupert.
Rupert, Mooji and many others have said that Enlightenment doesn't happen; it isn't an event. What would experience it? As Rumi says, "That which we seek we are."
Predrag Ivanovic True, but carefully choosing one's words can limit misunderstanding. Rupert is quite careful in choosing what words he uses and frequently acknowledges having to make "concessions to speech". :)
Yes if you want to be a spiritual teacher or a guru you have to choose your words very carefully. I was just sharing my own experience in simple words. Once you realize your Self, you see that it is the most simple, most direct and most obvious thing in your whole life, but we simply overlook it. No need to complicate the teaching. You are not what is seen, you are the seeing it self. The End. :-)
After reading the power of now by eckhart tolle everything changed. He has had Rupert on as a guest. I'll listen to any spiritual master who points to spirit because it resonates with me 100%.
Rupert for President 💪🥳 Yes, when we remember our aloneness in consciousness, and so are space, form and experience 🥰 We must remember this point of truth 🤩 because from there we can let go of our limitations and celebrate our adventure in human existence in love and harmony in our paradise on earth as one 🙏🥰 for the benefit of unity 🙏🥰🥳🥳🥳🥳
In the world of things, we seek our gain A never-ending cycle, of want and pain We cling to objects, as if they hold the key To happiness, that forever eludes our plea We chase the latest, the trendiest, the best But in our hearts, a void remains unressed For materialism, a false god we make That leaves us empty, and our souls to ache We are not these things, that we possess But in the dance of life, we've lost the finesse Of living fully, in the present moment Where true joy and peace, forever foment So let us see, beyond the veil of form And find the truth, that forever warms For in the stillness, the beauty unfolds And the material world, forever grows old So let us let go, of this religion of things And find the truth, that forever sings In the silence, we are whole and complete And true happiness, forever, we meet.
Have been listening to Tolle and others, and just found Spira. Of course, they're all talking about the same thing, but present it in different words. It's just a matter of finding that 'enlightened' person who says the words in a way that rings true with you, the listener. ".... for small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
TheJcfClark Trolle makes much sense, bless him Spira, im my humble opinion is very very easy to understand, no bs with him. Now, may I suggenst Mooji. Peace.
very true. jcfclark. I also think it's easier to find this bliss if you hit rock bottom in your life. lots of these so called energy experts hit rock bottom big time.....neal donald walsch, joe vitale, lester levenson (sedona method), louise hay. in fact, lester levenson said you have to want it more than anything in the world to have it (of course her is referring of living in a state of constant pure awareness where you never again experience sadness or sorrow (very few people in the world achieve that). but I am sure most can achieve it to some degree without hitting rock bottom. I just listen to FRED DAVIS the mirror glass on youtube. he breaks it down about as simple and easy to understand as I have heard from anyone. we have to stop looking and realize we already have it.
@@wasatchm With me, every time I realize I already have it, my inner Ego voice says, "Yah, but it ain't gonna last. Some awful thing will come along to knock you out of your high frequency", and invariably it does. But as we well know, we do this to ourselves because, 'we're not worthy'. I know these things intellectually but fully embracing it with my heart is difficult for me. (I'll check out Fred Davis -- thanks!)

Hope things get better for you
It's his voice that is the secret. I have to listen over and over again cause he can put me to sleep sitting up.
Hahahaha 😂yep get carried away
It IS great for napping. 😊
I AM that I am is clearly explained by Rupert Spira. ❤
rupert is gem among masters, thanks a lot
The far most powerful explanation of what is reality and counciousness …❤
Interesting, you should listen to Rudolf Steiners lectures about specific organs etc
You are not (just) your thoughts.
You are not (just) your body
But whill engaged in grief we don't see that.
One of Rupert's best!! Thanks!!
Summed up best by a brief passage from the 1950s by Avatar Meher Baba:
The Lover and The Beloved
God is love. And love must love.
And to love there must be a Beloved.
But since God is Existence infinite and eternal
there is no one for Him to love but Himself.
And in order to love Himself, He must imagine Himself
as the Beloved whom He as the lover imagines He loves.
Beloved and lover implies separation.
And separation creates longing;
and longing causes search.
And the wider and more intense the search,
the greater the separation
and the more terrible the longing.
When longing is at its most intense point,
separation is complete,
and the purpose of separation,
which was that love might experience itself
as lover and Beloved, is fulfilled; and union follows.
And when union is attained, the lover knows that
he himself was all along the Beloved, whom he loved
and desired union with;
and that all the impossible situations that he overcame
were obstacles which he himself had placed in the path
to himself.
To attain union is so impossibly difficult
because it is impossible to become
what you already are!
Union is nothing other than knowledge
of oneself as the Only One.

Sir.
This recognition has changed my life! Thank you Rupert.
Continuing from previous Comments.
ISHVARA (GOD) is BLESSING and enabling to convey my Gratitude to HIM and all.
💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Wowwwww what a extraordinary wisdom….I bow to your knowledge breathtaking
You have really explained the deepest layers of our being! Your description of consciousness is amazing! We have very little knowledge of ourselves. It is for the neuroscientists to investigate the ultimate basis of our life and its multiple manifestations in more tangible scientific terms. Rupert, you have gone very deep into the origins of our perceptual world.
im starting to understand the nature of counciousness more and more. this was very helpful. connects with what ive heard from other teachers and from studying religion.
thank you
What an absolutely masterful performance.. Brilliant!
Rupert is a true Master. I have been so helped by his teaching.
Hello world, this is for my own thrill!
From 17:32 thru 18:56 is Mind Blowing!!!!!
Amazing how he spirals you into the fact that we should be researching awareness with just 2 questions 19:15
And every epiphany or revelation is more like remembering it than it being new.. words like “of course..” and “ah.. exactly “
Come to memory
Such a restful voice, thank you for sharing. Namaste.
You are the entire universe!

When you go...the universe goes with you
No I'm not.
An outstanding explanation of consciousness that's unbelievably simple. Thank you!
Thank you. Amazing gift Rupert has been provided by awareness.
Amazingly clear.. what l have been trying to get my head round for Years - so Thank you soo much Rupert ❤
Rupert IS brilliant!!!
We are lucky to have access to the ancient wisdom, it being presented on a platter as it were, for our easy understanding, thanks to the erudition of modern day masters like Rupert Spira, and the availability of technology.
Thank you for your teaching , i have been struggling with this concept of Consciousness for 1 year , but i started to realize that the Consciousness only can be aware of itself , i think that i have awakening glimpse from time time , i started to realize things that are so obvious and still nobody see them.
what a beautiful presentation of consciousness...thank you for you creativity, knowingness and ability to share with such clarity...Namaste, Catherine Jansen
A profound life-changing lecture.

There is Nothing Beyond This!!

I am in awe. I am aware. I am. This was enlightening.

This is called Enlightenment! An Enlightened Teacher!
Rupert is the the best. You changed my life 🙏🙏🙏🙏
i loved that moment at the end when the host told Rupert to come back at 5pm, and he almost lost touch of non-duality!!

Excellent teaching on Nonduality. So much clear here!
I admire you for speaking with so much noise & movement going on. Well done ❤
I love Rupert and Adyashanti. I found out about Rupert through a video called Stillness Speaks - The Nature Of Things.
Edit: oops I meant The Transparency Of Things. I actually had to go and make sure I got the title right.
Yep --- those two are my favourites --- really crisp and clear
This is The Ultimate, Universal, Ancient Teaching of Ultimate Reality!
Rama
is that why he's on youtube?
@@yoya4766 people like you are gonna have to go before we ever get to transcend
This literally explains EVERYTHING.
Love is simply the knowledge of our shared being
+saidas108 yes thats true, but it cant also be talked about so what ever words we use they are false in some way.
The End. :-)
I'm enlightened and I enjoy hearing him explain pointers to stillness!
What was yours enlightenment story
After reading the power of now by eckhart tolle everything changed. He has had Rupert on as a guest. I'll listen to any spiritual master who points to spirit because it resonates with me 100%.
this is really enlightening. the first step towards recognizing what we all are
Thank you Rupert for this. I have been trying to understand this nature of consciousness. " The moth needs to be consumed to experience the flame"
Rupert for President 💪🥳
Yes, when we remember our aloneness in consciousness, and so are space, form and experience 🥰
We must remember this point of truth 🤩 because from there we can let go of our limitations and celebrate our adventure in human existence in love and harmony in our paradise on earth as one 🙏🥰 for the benefit of unity 🙏🥰🥳🥳🥳🥳
Thank You Rupert. Love You so much!
He is doing important work. Helping us to wake up.
A true masterpiece does not tell everything.
I’ve got 20 minutes in so far but I’ll definitely come back
One thing is for sure this is a serious matter, the speaker never smiled 😢
In the world of things, we seek our gain
A never-ending cycle, of want and pain
We cling to objects, as if they hold the key
To happiness, that forever eludes our plea
We chase the latest, the trendiest, the best
But in our hearts, a void remains unressed
For materialism, a false god we make
That leaves us empty, and our souls to ache
We are not these things, that we possess
But in the dance of life, we've lost the finesse
Of living fully, in the present moment
Where true joy and peace, forever foment
So let us see, beyond the veil of form
And find the truth, that forever warms
For in the stillness, the beauty unfolds
And the material world, forever grows old
So let us let go, of this religion of things
And find the truth, that forever sings
In the silence, we are whole and complete
And true happiness, forever, we meet.
This is an incredible talk.
This needs to be taught in schools. There is no religion in this teaching.
TheJcfClark
Trolle makes much sense, bless him
Spira, im my humble opinion is very very easy to understand, no bs with him.
