    I was part of the first wave of buyers. Bunch of delays later (like 7 months worth), I finally got them, and they are worth the wait. Chose these for the reasons you cited: space savings, using existing plates, workmanship. I already had the infrastructure (read: plate horn space) for extra 10's, but no space for a full DB set. I rarely do drop sets, and if I do, I set my plates out ahead of time so swaps are faster. You do have to be mindful of plate tolerances though - I have some 5kg plates with slightly oversized holes. Got a bunch of lateral slop when loaded. Despite that, I've successfully done a bunch of movements with these, including snatches, and have had zero issues, although when hitting my very first snatch, I was a little nervous ...just like high school. Ok, college. Ok, fine, 36 years old. DON'T YOU JUDGE ME.

And recently ordered loadable DB handles to go over 125... Unfortunately the 175 power block set is huge, and the weight adjustments go in 7.5 and 15 pound incriminates.. didn't like iron master not a fan of how long they take to adjust and the cost to get to really heavy weights

      I have the Gungnir barbell and the workmanship is stunning, worth every penny, and it's a lot of pennies.

    I'd argue that these are actually priced pretty competitively. Assuming you already have at least two pairs of 10's, you can get 8 pairs of rogue Olympic plates for $330, which gets you to $830 for 112lbs each. Nuobells are around $750 and only go up to 80lb, and you can't drop them. The powerblocks elite series (mid-tier model) is $800 which still only gives you 90lbs, doesn't give you a knurled handle, has an awkward enclosed handle. I will definitely be considering these.

    • @jsedge2473
      @jsedge2473 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree - although you are definitely paying for the "prettiness" with these guys. You can buy (sort of) the same product for like 10x cheaper (Got a set on Amazon for $60, Titans are like $100). Although clearly, much less pretty and lower quality. Even Rogues are what, $250-300 rn? Vs these guys which are like $600 now. Can't see a reason for buying Gugnir unless you have some cash to blow and really have a burning desire to have the prettiest loadable dumbells on the market
