    Nice look! Why don't you use a CST to transform from Slog2 to REC709?

    • @meliorstudios
      @meliorstudios  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks! And I’ve found whenever I use CST to transform Slog2 from 8bit cameras, the footage begins to break up a lot which makes it difficult to do any colour separation afterwards

    hey, im really new at this stuff.. i have a question.
    so I did all the nodes and it looks fine (its fine but I can see some of it breaking up, but not as much as it did after using the saturation) before I do anything with the saturation. but after I tweak with the saturation a bit, it really becomes noisey and tearing? idk what the words to say but its breaking up... i use ur method. using the rbg stuff not the slider one.
    any solution/tips for me?
    i use a S-log 2 on Sony A7III.
    idk if this important but the ungraded footage from the Sony looks a bit purple ish? it is look dead. but there's a bit of purple tint on footage. does that do something to the file?
    never tried an Log before. and I did use a tutorial from youtube how to use the Slog2 from Sony A7III... so idk if its the camera settings or I'm just bad at color grading.
    thanks!
    Update.
    I tried a new tutorial for the grade using color space transform and use Input color space and input gamma to sony s gamut and slog 2... but oh boy.. it got worst.. I've seen some tutorial using this method but they are perfectly fine... idk whats the problem with my footage. and right now, I got a decent result using the CST but with rec 709 with both input color space and input gamma. its not great, but it don't burn ur eyes at least.. like I said. its a bit purple ish...
    update.
    Im really counting on u T-T
    thanks!
