    Thanks for the good info, will attempt this soon. Work in progress to eliminate one code after another(3 so far) P0740 is one of them this might short term address.

      @@jeffhines2895 P0740 is typically the code of death on the Pilots. Generally if you have this code your transmission is on its way out. I had this code and had to replace the transmission within a few thousand miles. You can try a few transmission fluid drain and fills but expect the tranny to be going out soon unfortunately.

    Great job bruh, I serviced same for my customer today, I couldn't get the trans filter, I washed the one in there and used it again, because I couldn't get a new one from the part store.

    Getting transmission fluid changes for my 2003 pilot for the past 20 years and i was always informed its just a drain and fill . No one ever mentioned a actual filter that's in a difficult area.

    • @AleksUsovich
      @AleksUsovich  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@davem.539 It's a usually drain and fill for ATF but there is also a filter. I'd do the filter every 50K-100K. Not every drain and fill if you do the recommended 15k drain and fill intervals

    When I called Honda they told me that there was no serviceable trans filter, but that is was internal. An experienced Honda tech told me the same thing. Are you sure that is a transmission filter that you replaced?

    • @AleksUsovich
      @AleksUsovich  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes on the 2003 and 2004 models only. The 05 and up have an internal filter. Part number is: 25450-P7W-003 if you want to see the part diagram for yourself.

      It does. All 2004 Pilots have this transmission filter.

    I have an 03 pilot. I changed the transmission fluid. 1st of 3. I will do the filter with the 3rd change. Thanks for showing the 03. My problem is that it won't start now. After I filled the fluid, a major downpour hit and wet down the engine. I dried it as best as I could but there isn't even a click from the starter. I do hear what is probably the fuel pump start but that is all. When I turn off the key, the green key light flashes 5 times. I haven't had the car long enough to know if that is normal. I have not seen a video with the 03 key light. I checked the acg-s fuse. it's not blown.

    • @AleksUsovich
      @AleksUsovich  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you've got quite the problem. I'd start by checking all the fuses using the resistance function to make sure the fuses aren't blown- sometimes they look good but are blown. Check the battery terminals to make sure they are tight. Check all the ground cables to the chassis to make sure they aren't disconnected or worn. They key light should blink after ignition set to off. If it is blinking it means there is a problem with the key or ecu. There is a transponder in the key that won't let the car start or stay running- I doubt this is your issue but you never know. Check out Piloteers.com and search the forum for possible solutions to your problem.

      @@AleksUsovich thanks, turned out to be a bad starter. Threw me off because it didn't click. I checked with the prev owner and he said he put a junk yard starter on. I changed it and no problems now.

    • @AleksUsovich
      @AleksUsovich  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I actually decided to change this filter since my Pilot had around 255K on it and it has never been changed out in the history of the vehicle. I changed this filter along with 3 atf drain and fills and installing a transmission filter in hopes of prolonging the life of the transmission. I have not noticed any differences in the transmission since changing out the filter although got some peace of mind knowing that there's a new filter on there.

      @AleksUsovich how's the pilot holding up?? I just purchased one with 250k on it for dirt cheap and no frame or body rust BUUUT it has the p0740 code and slips intermittently (didn't on my test drive just according to owner) any recommendations?? Thanks in advance

      @@noahzimmerman2728 I ended up taking mine into a shop. I got mine for very cheap with 160k and after all the time I spent trying to fix it myself, I decided it was worth it to get it professionally done since I loved the car. Cost was about $2,900 for a full rebuild. But after that, I did a bunch of stuff to it myself, including a new suspension, and it drives wonderfully. I'm hoping to get another 100k out of it, and I think I can now.

    Did you replace the fuel filter because of a misfire code?
