That is one thing I really appreciate about these Honda designs, they make them so that these individual parts are repairable with a simple O-ring and or gasket set. Take their power steering pumps, very expensive, and I am sure the dealerships love selling new ones. The kicker is, just about anyone with some basic hand tools can rebuild one for around $30 or $40, depending on the Honda dealer you purchase the O-rings, seal and bearing from.
Lmfao the kicker with the power steering pumps on the v6 hondas is that they are a pain in the ass to install especially the high pressure line that routes to the rack directly, and if u got a leak on the return line even a more pain the ass problem, and i dont think basic hand tools will suffice for a power steering pump job lol espeically if you need to remove the motor mount to replace ps belt thats connected to the crank pulley
Man ...that was a good job! I'm convinced that my timing solenoid up top isn't leaking, nor the valve covers. I can't trust anyone to clean up around the seams like you did before reinstallation.

Another update I torn the vtec solenoid pigtail got a new solenoid n respliced it. The car shifts nice as hell, I CAN FEEL THE VTEC AT 4500 rpms. I replaced multiple sensor, the whole cooling system, valve adjustment, timing belt kit, valve cover gaskets, new bosch plugs, cleaned carbon out of egr port, replaced egr valve, clean throttle body and manifold of carbon to the lower manifold ports. I just done a massive oil leak there on my grand daughters Pilot. I was sure surprised when Oreilly's had that gasket in stock. The old gasket had broke in one spot letting pressurized oil come right out above the oil filter.
Wow, Awesome complete repair, to the point. Hope you are compensated well for your gift. Wish you were near me also. I've got plenty of work. Lol Really appreciate you and your time!
Great video! Thanks! One minor point, I wouldn't recommend spraying cleaner into the open housing. You're better to spray the rag and then wipe it. You could contaminate the oil by doing it the way you did.
@@crisacevedo5819it helped like 80% but I still have a small leak. It was a real easy fix and cheap. I would recommend it, there is a lot of rubber gaskets. But now it's a small enough leak I don't worry about it now.
It’s common on these for the VTEC solenoid (i.e. pressure switch/spool valve) on the V6 to leak. Thank heavens it’s mostly an easy fix. But I wouldn’t replace the main gasket without the mesh filter.

GUNK "Engine Brite" or Simple Green are really good cleaners for the outside of the engine block to grt all the old oil grime off. Sprsy them on liberally, let them sit for 10 to 15 minutes to emulsify. Then blast the solvents off with a high pressure gargen hose or power washer.
If you own an older Honda J series, I would do this gasket swap prior to it failing. I think I will put this on my list, do it at my next oil change. 114,000 miles on the 2013 Pilot.

Hey mate, i have some annoying problem with my van, and i saw something simmilar here at your channel, where i can contact you to explain you my problem and if you are able to give me some advice? I would appreciate a lot
Changed all 3 of the gaskets you did and it still leaks. I remembered the crank shield was dry when I did the spool valve body. Where else can the leaks come from? It's apparently still leaking around the same area (passenger side lower side)
Thank you family! I almost blew my motor out 🤣 dude sold me this MDX in shit conditions, I did all the repairs and she’s at 295k. This is the last one this weak ass leak lol
So you're saying the 1hr job in doing the filter housing, should've have been a 9-hour maintenance prevention by doing the oil pump while I was in there? By that logic, I should've pulled the transmission and did the rear main seal also if I'm doing a axle seal... is this correct, please explain your logic here

Parts Shooter, once again, great video. I'll be darn, mine is leaking after putting in all 3 gaskets. How long should I let it run to see where it leaks from? And you briefly mentioned, that the switch thing can leak also?? Has anyone mentioned that to you? Thank you!
You may have a leak elsewhere, cracked housing or human error during install🤔. Things happen! Try rechecking your work or clean the area and check for leaks
Parts shooter, once again, your video saved me! Besides this gasket, my oil pressure switch was leaking. (If you go to 7:00 in your video, you see the the black boot over the switch). Wanted to share that in case somebody else checked out your video!
Could a bad gasket cause white smoke to come out? I’m getting white smoke coming out from the right side. Not sure if this is the cause but I did notice that side of the car is dirty from oil.
Extremely bad valve cover leak or power steering hose leak will cause long standing smoke under the hood. Because of the location, typically you won't see smoking because it's away from the exhaust
Keep in mind if resealing rhe oil housing DOESN'T take care of the leak, then yoi need to reseal the oil pump. There os an O-ring between oil pump and rhe engine block that likes to leak put the top and run down the outside of the oil pump onto the oil filter housing.
