LOL, I was working part-time at a video store when this was out on VHS, and we would play it on the tvs in the store all the time. People would just stop and watch. Respectfully, this reminds me of the way many beliefs hold Mother Earth and other women sacred. Like a thread between us, even if we have different "religions". I think that is beautiful.
They just sing so beautifully together. I’m a choir nerd, but to close your eyes and just listen to the harmony of the altos and sopranos…bass….beautiful all around. Especially the last line before they broke into the upbeat part

Then I heard these ladies actually sing. I may consider myself a pagain, bbut this music was something beautiful, regardless of whom or what you pray to.

We had chorus in elementary and I loved it so much I took Chorus as an elective in middle school every year, then in high school it was chior but I couldnt vibe with it. Kathy Najimy is just one of those character actresses you saw everywhere in the early 1990s. She has such a pleasant face. I hope she's still working.
