This scene made such a short work of the whole plot build up so fast. We went from him getting bored at work to full on rock band in less than 5 minutes. Cutting right to the meat of the story. Jack’s expression, energy and good natured enthusiasm just makes it inevitable that everyone is of course in a band now.
I had a music teacher like that. He got me into the guitar and music in general. He was as crazy as Jack Black lol but he was great. Really hope music teachers are as passionate as this.

Me and my dad watched this 2 days ago. At the end my dad cried, and I was genuinely so confused at first, but then he said it’s just amazing how a group of kids can make amazing music like this. Amazing film, my all-time favourite.
This is the most pivotal scene in the entire movie. There Mr. S is, taking a wiz, going nowhere in life, when suddenly, as he pisses on the world below him, he hears music from above, perhaps from heaven. From this point on, his life has purpose and takes an entirely different direction.
Check out Katie's expressions and her overall look throughout this whole scene, and then watch Zach's song in the competition. Her transformation (along with all the others) is the best part of this fantastic movie.
Yes and her bass-face when she copies Jack in the montage later is one of my favourite moments, you can tell she's really commited to being a cool bassist 😄

Awesome! And so it is not lost in the mix, don't miss out on the piece they are playing at the start: concierto de aranjuez. It's so beautiful. Search for that piece plus Brassed Off for a fantastic version. Even better if you know the film.
