There is no such thing as non-Mexican tequila. To be named tequila, it has to come from Mexico.

In México we have different types of distillates and they all come from different regions of the country like Mezcal from Oaxaca or Bacanora from Sonora.

Tequila fact! The clear blanco or silver tequilas haven't aged. They're usually the cheapest and meant for mixing. Reposado means "restful" because reposado tequilas have "rested" in a barrel for up to a year. After a year in a barrel it is an Añejo. These are the smoothest tequilas and have complex oak flavors, like the Don Julio.

That Sauza bottle is basically 51% tequila, 49% grain alcohol (aka vodka), so that's pretty close, also it's just bloody terrible.
The other tequilas are nice though, I feel they're not giving the agave a chance here, give the poor people some ice to go with it next time!

Alcoholics or people dependent on alcohol through an addiction create a fallacy in their head that a certain alcohol is different than another alcohol. Sure beer, wine, or liquor as in categories. However, if you are not dependent on alcohol which is rare in the day and age, then you have a true pallet and taste identity. People need a reason to rationalize their drinking, so their brain which understand the body is now addicted creates these false senses and since the primary sense involved in alcohol is taste, you bring yourself to believe that alcohols are somehow different. Your hypothesis doesn't work out. Alcoholism is different from casual drinking. Alcoholics drink to get drunk and don't care what the liquor tastes like. Most people who drink high-end liquor are not alcoholics and drink it for the flavor. Your belief that people who are not alcoholics are "rare in this day and age" is pure bullshit. Alcoholism is a medical condition, not occasionally drinking a substance you don't approve of.
