I love that you don't give advice. Like "you should do it this way" or "this is the best products to use." Nope, you literally just tell us what you are doing as you do it. Humbly and simply. Thank you
Oh, my! Can klutziness be transmitted through utube? Dropping the leaf is so ME! Lol. Dash, it is truly one of your best pieces. Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your expertise and knowledge again. Enjoyed!
Hi, Very sharp table. The legs are cool. Really nice job. It isn't very often I watch a round mid century dining table get beautified. Most are usually square or rectangular. Always enjoy when you bring out your color sticks and steamer. Thanks
Drexel was a higher end manufacture in the 60’s. Heritage was the tops though. As time passed, one company bought out the other. I can’t remember who bought out who. Too many years have gone by. Nice refinishing job. And a good size table, Carol from California

I always learn sonething from your videos 4:50 "Too smooth for stain. The stain may slide right off." This must be no problem I was having with a test project. I bought a Curtis Mathes console to practice on and I could not get stain to stick where the original finish and stain had worn off even after sanding. I probably sanded it too fine.
You are one of my two fave TH-camrs. The other is Corter Leather. Eric also has a down-to-earth demeanor and soothing voice, plus super skilled like you. :-) Just wanted to share that.
That's a lovely table, and a nice shape, especially the legs. I wasn't very keen on the original colour, and really liked the final version you had - I was hoping you weren't going to make it very dark, even though the leaf did actually look nice dark. As always, I enjoyed watching you work, and how you explain the processes (watching you steaming out dents is somehow very satisfying!).
That's a lovely little table, so many little fix ups you had to take care of, but the result is perfect. MCM style was THE style when we were setting up our first home when we married, 60th anniversary next March, and I still love the style. The light warm colours and softened edges, it just seems more elegant to me than what came later. From what I see online, many folks agree. 😉 Great job on this one, it's just right. 👍😊
It looks a lot better now. I think all refinished MC furniture always looks better because the woodgrain shows through more. The thing I don't like about furniture that was finished with toner lacquer is that it always obscures the woodgrain and makes the item look so bland. Well, that's my humble opinion.
That was a lot of work...and I can't imagine you being in such a rush as to have dropped the leaf. Methinks that was an excuse to tell a story about the ding you inherited! But what a hero to have that tale to tell!
I love what you do even if I don’t approve of your choices. You explain all of your steps. Are you a professional u tuber?. If you are isn’t there a better place to work other than your garage. My heart went out to you when you were working in the cold.
Great job with colour matching the wax stick repair. Table looks great. Maybe some rubber matting for your work area? It’s always after finishing that bits get dropped 🤦♂️
The center panel always has less wear and tear because people only use it a few times a year for special occasions. So, I guess weathering that part to match the rest is the best approach.
The table is beautiful, specially the legs. It was worth going through the pain of matching the color of the leaf and the top. I would have preferred a little bit darker color.. But it's just me... 😄 My heart ached when you said the dropped the leaf... but I knew you could fix it. As always, a pleasure to watch. 🤩🤩🤩
There were several pieces of Drexel furniture in my house growing up that were the same style as this. I always like it. Great job brining it back to "new".
Your videos are always interesting! You find the story in the furniture and tell us a bit about the life it lived. I appreciate the respect you have for each piece.
putting lye on cherry and other similar woods is a long standing aging technique. you can get some really interesting results depending on the wood. great video as usual. so chill, even when you're showing the aftermath of haste. you do such a good job with those hard fill sticks. i haven't used them enough to get that consistent with them.
That’s a really nice looking table. It seemed a bit of a chew on to get a lovely colour through using the lye rather than just using a nice normal colour, but what do I know! You take us on a journey, there and back again with Mr Dashner, bumps and scrapes included. I’d love to have this in my home.
What stripper do you use? I love watching your videos, they're so motivating. That you work on so many MCM pieces that it has given me confidence to refinish my own furniture. Thanks!!
I love your videos! This came out very nice. I have my parents' Drexel Declaration dining room table. When I had it and the leaves refinished, the leaves came out darker because they rarely saw the sunshine. I kept them that way, and I think it created a nice design element with the two tones.
Another beautiful refinishing job, preserving a piece of high quality furniture. Trying to get a similar piece today would be very expensive to replicate this kind of quality. Another rescue we’ll worth it!!
Nice work. I laughed (with you) when you mentioned dropping the leaf in your excitement to see if the colors matched. That is something I would do, too.
I love that you don't give advice. Like "you should do it this way" or "this is the best products to use." Nope, you literally just tell us what you are doing as you do it. Humbly and simply. Thank you
You are the Bob Ross of wood restoration! Thank you so much for your soothing voice and for showing how you work through your happy accidents!!! ❤
What a beautiful dining table, especially with the leaf installed. Also loved the photobombing of your cute furry assistant 😺

Hi,

Thanks
I was never a fan of MCM furniture, but the way you re-finish these pieces has changed my mind. Another great save!
I also am giving MCM another glance.
Your imperfections are perfectly perfect! Makes me feel better when I drop stuff! Lol😅
Wonderful, as always! Delighted to see the beautiful kitty at the end. 🐈⬛
Great channel. I especially appreciate how you share your thought process, how you problem solve and share mistakes. I’m learning so much.
Thank you for showing your mistakes too ❤❤❤

You seem fond of the leg situation - there with you. Also 🐈⬛️
I’m now anxiously awaiting your tutorial on darkening wood tones with lye!
I'd like to one of these days..
Awww the little kitty meow at the end ❤
Have a set of those orange measuring cups. My mom liked Tupperware when I was younger, and I ended up with some of it.
Nice
The birds and the cat!

That turned out beautifully - as always. Excellent match for the leaf too. Thanks for sharing your skills. Take care 🙂
Beautiful table! I love how you explain everything in details and it was very relaxing to watch your video with your soothing voice.
❤ the 😺
I like this table and that it isn't dark. Good job❤

What a sweet little table
Ready for Thanksgiving dinner! Beautiful!

Looks like something these very high end companies would sell today, but it would be pressed board. Love that and not a huge fan of MCM.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of MCM, either. I'm more of an arts and crafts, mission revival fan. Maybe even a little Bauhaus.
I have the avocado green matching set for that vintage orange measuring cup, giving me so much nostalgia!
I have the orange set 😉
So great to see that grain come through! Pretty.😊
Wonderful job! 😊 Color marching is outstanding! ❤

I really liked the finish on this one really good job!! Thanks 😊
Thank you!
My favorite TH-cam Channel by now fr
Another beautiful restoration!
That turned out really pretty including the leaf.

Wow! Awesome. Another masterpiece. 👍
Congratulations in your job. Can I know what type of liquid stripper did you use?

Ohhh I love knifes out!!!!!! Ohhh I hope you love it
Such talent and skill 👍👍
Excellent finish ! What kind of stripper do you use now that the citrus no longer works well ? Thanks for all of the inspiration.

Just beautiful! Love the color and it looks so much better now than when you bought it!
I didn't notice for a moment that you'd put the leaf in; great color matching. Beautiful piece.
Love the cat 💕
Beautiful! You did it! The leaf is exactly the same color as the table! Thanks so much for sharing
Every time I see your finished work, I want it. Great job. You truly know what you are doing.
Love you man
A beautiful restoration.
Hey DD&R
Very nice table.

Wonderful work, as always! Love the lighter color of the table and seeing the beautiful woodgrain showing through the stain.
