In this video I refinish a filthy table. In the process I apply new veneer to the top and fix rotten wood in the legs.

Outstanding! As all Dashnerds know... you play the videos with the sound turned up so you can hear "the voice"! It was a great way to start my Saturday morning!!!
I love his soothing voice too
And the help of the murder of crows telling all they see at the end. Great table. So glad you took the effort to fix and show how you did it. Thank you.
@@nancyanneberg403... OMG! I totally missed the crows! Had to go back and replay the end to hear them!
What a sexy table!! The fix you did on the legs is so cool and looks so purposeful that I could even see doing it on perfectly healthy legs as a design choice. Question....you shellaced before attaching the new veneer and I haven't seen that done before. What is the reasoning for it? Thank you.
@@coleenburgess6689 ... I wondered the same thing. I would have thought that the unvarnished wood surface would give the adhesive more grab.
"Not a design flaw, it's a feature." - Nice 👍
I thought that was a nice touch to the legs 🤌
Nice save. The difference in colour on the tips of the legs almost give it that "brass foot cap" effect.
I came here to say the same. Great idea, and it looks even better, I think.
Totally agree. Looks awesome.
I continue to love your ultra-chill voiceover and the complete lack of music. Other Woodtubers take note!!
Completely agree!. I absolutely despise music in these kind of videos. Or pretty much any videos!. Even if it’s not jangly and jarring, it’s always too loud.
Okay, WOW. To be honest, I didn't have much hope for this piece but it turned out insanely gorgeous!
Thank you!
I respect your respect for the integrity of the designer’s vision. I have to admit that if that little table had fallen prey to my tender mercies, I’d have sawn off the rotten bits of leg and ended with a shorter table. It got lucky finding you!
Thank you for saving this lovely vintage piece from the landfill. It is beautiful.
You were given "a lemon", and you made a "lemonade stand"!
You made a silk purse from a sow's ear--spectacular restoration of a beautiful table! You rock!!!
Such a brilliant fix for the legs!
The cutouts in the apron are the only things that would have gotten me to save this table. They take it from boring to stylish.
The “design” feature regarding those legs was excellent. Down here in Mississippi, we sure do enjoy your videos.
Well done! I was half expecting brass caps for the leg ends. What you did must have taken so much longer but looks brilliant
Thanks again for keeping something out of the landfill.
Nice job Steven ! Looking brand new
Thank you, Jay!
I love how peaceful your videos are. Never change it please ❤
Indeed!
It's good to recognise when to cut your losses, good call on replacing the veneer. Great work!
Amazing. This was literally trash to treasure. I really enjoy your channel so much. To watch the transformation of the piece of furniture is so fascinating.
Did the fact that the table was put together with all those screws and bolts influence your decision to accept that challenge?---It's evident to me that you enjoy your hobby! I'm glad I'm in your fan club!---Does that table have a destination yet?
Hard to believe it's the same table. It looks 50 years younger now. Very good job, as usual.
One word : amazing! I did not think it could look that good, but I should've known better. You have a very special talent.
Hi,
Great job! Your gifts of bringing dead furniture back back to life are so impressive. The Jorgeson wood clamps that you used are so cool. The fact that it was wood, not plastic is a rare thing to see now a days.
Thanks
You can get those hand-screw clamps at Rockler
It is a beautiful table! And, just so you know, I always enjoy the sound of the crows in your neighborhood! 😉
Excellent restoration. Something quite old school Dashner about this video, which made it all the more enjoyable.
Beautiful little table! New veneer was definitely the way to go. I was very impressed with how the legs turned out - they were pretty roached! So glad you could rescue another piece from my favorite era.
Incredible transformation ! it is gorgeous now...
Splitting the leg in order to save it? Nice. I learned a few things with this video. Awesome job.
Looks fabulous ! The legs 'idea' was brilliant and they look great. A really lovely design of table with interesting apron design. You saved another piece from landfill - well done. Thanks for sharing your skills. Take care 🙂
That was more of a resuscitation than a restoration! And it turned out gorgeous, wow!❤🇳🇱
Such a little gem! I love the cut out detail in the apron. Well worth the effort to bring it back to life!
Jaw dropping, WoW.
Such a great looking piece of furniture.
Just a tip on the metal hardware: After removing the rust with vinegar, you can seal the surface with a (clear) lacquer to prevent it from rusting again.
Oh wow. The color is spot on and the legs look great!!
Wow that was genius to cut off old leg pieces to repair the rotten ones. Well done. You also make replacing veneer look easy. Well…you’re a professional sooo 👍🏼 nice save on the end table. I love it
I like that you left spliced wood at the bottom a little bit lighter & didn't try and match it. It looks amazing! And it looks intentional.
The table looks great. That work on the bottom of the legs adds to the design. Wonderful work. Carol from California
What a great idea on the feet. It looks really neat!
Beautiful result! Although somewhat time consuming, great fix for the legs. The difference so subtle, yet effective.
Indeed a nice contrast at the legs. Painting it black would also do. Nice job.
So impressed you updated the legs and they look fantastic!
Proud to be a Dashnerd.
Thank you!
I knew I was going to love this table before you started working on it. The shape is so pretty, especially those little cutouts on the apron. So pretty! The legs turned out nice; love your "design choice"! Someone is going to get a really nice little table for their home.
I think this is my favorite piece of yours, the solutions turned into subtle but unique design upgrades.
I thought that you couldn't get much better. I've watched passively for years, and I really like this one.
Wow, it really looks nice. You would never know it was tinder! I could not really see that being saved. I like what you did with the legs too. "Design Feature" is now a new description I will be using.
Beautiful work. Love the end result of the legs. Your skill and the calmness of your voice gives a great feeling of zen. Thank you.
Wow! I can’t believe how good that came out. I love the new foot caps. Clever way of solving a problem
Hi. Just wanted to thank you for your videos. I struggle with anxiety and often find it hard to relax but i always can with your videos. I think its your voice. I find it very soothing. Thank you.
it's almost unbelievable how different it looks now. And I love to save furniture. It's outstanding work - yet again. Congrats!
Another beautiful job of restoration. I learn so much by watching your videos. Thanks. I love how nice and quiet your videos are. No lousy music.
Amazing! I love that you salvaged this piece and made something beautiful out of it.
It looks fabulous! The bottom of the feet almost look like it has those copper coverings that some tables have. It looks really neat.
Well done, indeed. Cinderella turned into a princess!
I love watching you work and the ideas you apply. One thing I have done as a 25 yr wood restoration tech is the use of touch up paint to neutralize any dark imperfections that I don't like. I would also seal any artwork under a couple coats of stain and a couple of clear coats... Either way your work turned out great!!
Brilliant job and a lovely little table.
Thanks for posting.
Great reno, and I love the new "design feature".
“Then it’s not a defect, it’s a feathure”
:) amen
Looks like Broyhill’s Brasilia line. ‘Design feature”…I love it.
Incredible! I can’t believe the end result!
Good Morning Dashner Design☕️🍰 🌄✨️🌻✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
That's some resurrection! 😳 Amazing job, it looked beyond help. 🧡👍👍👍☺️
I really thought you were wasting your time with that table initially. Wow!!!! You're a miracle worker with great skills!! Thank you for sharing the video.
That's a beautiful little table. Thank you for rescuing it. You did a great job restoring it.
I love the genius idea with the legs. I thought for a second you might have just done black "boots" on them but I think this way looks good also. Great work. I've been itching to refinish some tables again and you're inspiring me to do it.
Amazing job getting color consistency all throughout this piece!
It looks absolutely beautiful!
bro. your work speaks for its self and is gorgeous. youre the new bob ross, no lie! ive watched most of your stuff an i like your taste in furniture. keep it up i find it inspiring.
Hello Steven. Great job as always. I loved it 👌👌👌

I like the two tone look on the legs. Well done!
Excellent restoration. Beautiful table!
Amazing transformation for this little table
Great tips in this restoration Dashner.
A beautiful safe. 👍
Another stunning restoration. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely a fine restoration of that tired table. Many congratulations.
That came out beautifully considering the start! I actually think the end of the legs ended up a sweet visual bonus!
Thank you!
Clever trick with the thread, I'll have to remember that.
That’s amazing! Well done👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
Peel & stick veneer for the win! Excellent work as always!! 🥃
Thank you!
Very nice job! It was definitely worth saving!
Another beast transformed into a beauty! Fabulous.
Great job as usual. The table looks fabulous.
Super job with the legs, it looks great now.
You did it again! Very nice!
Very nice restoration!!
Gorgeous lines. It sure WAS worth saving.
Wow! That table was transformed. Nice work.
Incredible transformation!
I like the pragmatic approach to these restorations. Repairs are done when necessary but nothing is over-finished or polished up to absurd degree.
Really nice save. You have more vision than I do.
I really like the lines on this table, which really came into a beautiful view after your incredible restoration Thanks again for another brilliant video! I am a faithful viewer and huge fan!
Yay! Minneapolis! I noticed your Minnesota Conservation cup... Love MN!! Your restorations are great!!
Great job with the dye and lovely detail with the legs!
The final result looks so good, great job!!!
Nice work, as always!
