ah! I think i know what happened with the door. It can be one of two things. I also use the autopanning mod and sometimes it will "Miss" and right click any right-clickable object within its range. Doesnt seem to be a feature, just a bug. This will happen more frequently during alt-tabbing or while switching between hotbar slots. The other thing it could be is theres a setting in Dana's Tweaks that allows drifters to open doors. Im not sure if its set on or off by default, but if you do use dana's tweaks it is possible that the setting was turned on.

@@Oscillascape maybe with a bigger map sized you could have a 3 biome starting archipelago. One volcano with hot spring moat, one flying iceberg, and one garden But maybe thats too much.

Hello there, would you be interested in playing a SkyBlock meets One Block kind of map in VS? I'm cooking the map right now using command blocks. It is kinda chill. Needs no mods, though QoL mods and autosifter would make a more pleasant experience. The main concept is to use regenerating blocks like in One block maps (i tried to make a random one block but failed to implement it so far, so I went with the easier thing of adding different regenerating blocks(some do it fast, some with a delay for balancing reasons) to a skyblock like map with different islands and progression gated behind metal tools. The map goal is to reach steel and along the way get access to most of content possible from normal gameplay, but in a skyblock. If you have any other map ideas using regenerating blocks One Block style, would be nice to discuss it.
I am also thinking of some map, where you get resources you need by surviving in the arena with enemies. I think it is possible to pull it off with current functionality of command blocks. Make some sorts of home area where you prepare and then go for a run to get as much resources as you can from an instance before you either die or escape. Though this kind of map gonna take quite some time to do and probably gonna need to find some dedicated builder for decorations
actually cool, great effort on your part, but i hate the textures, like actually, and in the end, i could only handle 10 minutes of high res block textures

YAAAY THE BOYS FUELED OSCILLASCAPE EPISODE!! Loved this
That's right. The boys powered me through hours and hours and hours of panning and grinding.
i love the 2015 intro
I don't know what 2024 intro are like. Millennials are getting old man.
@@nine_lives5597 it wasn't the dana tweaks, I checked to make sure the feature was off. Most likely auto planner clicking on the door 🤣
Dude love these long form heavy effort vids but we need something regular. Upload hour long livestream vods. Something low effort then chop it all up and put your flavour on it for a big complete release like these. Keep going 🎉
I will be doing more regular content. It will probably not be gameplay based though. Eventually I am on board to stream as well but not in my current living situation. But I hear you. I wish I had more free time 😉

This is far beyond what I should expect when I get it, but:
Do I get Vintage Story? It’s been getting my interest. I remember being obsessed with survival comics as a child, and this game looks very promising.
Are you a gamer? Do you have any experience playing survival games? Those could be the questions to ask. But if it looks interesting, I would say dive in. The game is fairly inexpensive, granted by Western nations standards!
@@Oscillascape Yes, I do play games a lot. And I mean A LOT. I plan to actually dive into it youtube-wise someday.
Well, if it’s inexpensive, it doesn’t hurt to try. Thanks!
@@Oscillascape Well, I certainly didn't expect my first day in the game to be running off my entire food bar to find flint, but it sure was! This is gonna be an interesting experience. Still, I thank you for introducing me to it.
It sounds like 100 days of drifter hell.

When using wind power on the quern it's best to use a large gear to step down the torque which makes it spin much faster.
@@omegahaxors9-11I am kind of a noob when it comes to gearing. I wish there were good tutorials on it. Perhaps I should just bite the bullet, learn and then make a quality one!
@@Oscillascape It's easy. Power in the bottom and out the side turns torque into speed and power into the sides and out the bottom makes turns speed into torque. The ratio is 1:4 both ways.

HOLD ON WHAT IS THAT THING AT 48:27 ???

@@Oscillascape reading on the lore, I guess maybe he's apart of whatever caused the rust world or sent visions of the machines like the locusts
This is super cool but is there a reason you weren’t using a gear reduction with your wind mills
@@mintw4241 I am bad at gears, please explain. Someone needs to make an actual guide for those.
@@Oscillascape a youtuber called Chumber has a really good tutorial making a transmission, check it out!
@ so basically you can use the Large Wooden Gear on the down shaft from the windmill with a regular angled gear on the axle to the helvehammer to make it run faster at the cost of less torques
I like the custom texture for obsidian, looks a lot more vibrant which is something the base game kinda sucks at.
@@omegahaxors9-11 i just cranked the exposure by 2x, otherwise it's the same texture. The default obsidian was so dark that you couldn't see anything at night even with a lantern. It kind of bricked my initial Skyblock run.
@@Oscillascape The games textures overall suffer from undersaturation. This is fine for a lot of blocks but it really shows on others, especially with how phenomenal the lighting system is. You almost can't appreciate how good the lighting is with how washed out everything ends up looking.
Some like that more.

can you release a guide on how and what you made this map with?
@@ewa8723 I probably will! The response has been great so, I will most likely put something together for the community.
Kinda sad that map making in VS is currently non existent, there arent even a section for maps yet.
Anyway I've dropped the map on vs moddb. "neo skyblock"
I think I would yes. Are you planning to add it to the mod page? Where do you plan to host it?
Cool, I will check it out for sure at some point! The more the merrier, thanks for contributing to the modding scene.
actually cool, great effort on your part, but i hate the textures, like actually, and in the end, i could only handle 10 minutes of high res block textures
@@groblivsochbauggr what do you mean hi res? Those are the default vintage story textures?

Could you use flowing water to lead the auto sifter products into the hopper like in Minecraft?
Yes you can but it's also not reliable. I tested such tech in creative and found that the goodies will often get stuck in the stream.
