If it’s not patched you can use a slab floor in places you don’t want to fully light up to stop anything from spawning
I have to test whether that still works! That would be a great hack for indoors.
@@Oscillascape I used it one of my old worlds I slabbed my basement and my first floor and never had spawn issues could have always been a fluke but I feel like at some point I would have gotten a spawn otherwise
So your saying you want a thirst mod. and I am interested in learning VS modding...
Two thirst mods actually come out since then!
@@Oscillascape ha fairs
good news, thirst mods (2 even) have come out recently
I know, I saw them. Too bad they didn't have them at the time. Well, it gives me a reason to revisit the concept one day.
how do I play this
You can buy the game from their website
You buy it from their website, just type Vintage Story on Google.
That's barotrauma damage.
Haha, we got a diver in the comments 🤕
Balanced Thirst mod exists now, it has pee mechanics
Yes, I preceded the mod by about 2 months. There are two mods actually that came out recently, which warrants another exploration of a hot climate!
Once they implement overheating mechanics these worlds are going to be just as bad as the arctic.
Luckily for you , you didn't do what I did once and lower the tree count. While realistic it was horrible having to go from tiny tree patch to the next widley spaced tiny tree patch, while starving.
I was surprised by the amount of trees available that is for sure. Certainly this wasn't that challenging.
the G in "saguaro" is silent.
Really? That's good to know. Learn something new everyday!
@@Oscillascape Yeah! I live in Arizona and we have tons of those things around here lol Basically just sounds like "suwaroh"
This game reminds me of the minecraft terrafirmacraft mod , you could check it out if you want to and maybe do a video ?
Yes! I think the game is inspired by the mod. I think I only have time to record and play one game. Vintage Story scratches the itch. Thank you for the suggestion though.
For meat preservation, I though you've found salt actually.
I didn't find any. In fact I have yet to ever find salt naturally. I could have bought it from traders, but honestly little point. There isn't a huge reason to preserve meat when it's so easily avalible in the desert.
@@Oscillascapeeven more when you consider that Gazelles have more meat than Moose and Sheep combined. While also dropping fat.
There's now two thirst mods
I saw! What a shame they came out a few months too late, maybe I'll try another dry adventure with the new thirst mods at some point.
200 days when
Working on it right now! ☺️
Why did you spend your precious early game time on panning boney soil, it doesn't drop clay/nuggets lol
It drops many valuables which you can sell. You see me sell quite a few gems and such, and then buy vessels to help me with clay and reeds for rope.
I don't really like the new hand models for the game, I think they take too much space in the screen
I didn't like them at first and was wondering why you couldn't turn them off. But apparently it's because they will design combat around the new animation. I don't mind them now though.
there's at least three different thirst and heat mods. all have been out for awhile, even before this video. so you must not have looked very hard for them.
@@spicydeath82The earliest came out 2 month after this playthrough. No need to be snarky🙃
Vintage Story better than Minecraft
They are different and Minecraft is still great, but I do prefer Vintage Story now!
the newscaster voice can get a little draining
Fair enough. I am still experimenting with my voice and style that works. My narration can be a bit grating.
Больше испытаний по этой игре. У тебя хорошо получается.
Spasibo bratan! Prihodi potom, budet eshe!
@@Oscillascape An idea for the next challenge. Try to live in a world where 80-90% of the territory is occupied by the ocean. At the same time, the height of the world should be higher than 256 blocks.
Fun Fact: Bones give you 9.0 N when applied twice to the soil. You have to grind it first into bonemeal
Says it only has 3 N per application on wiki. It's something, but almost not worth it.
@@Oscillascape That is true, but when applied twice you get 9 N. With the primitive survival mod, worms are also a good source of passive fertilizer. They also produce their own passively. Meat when 6 or 9 can be tied int trussized meat and smoked for extra days. Fish meat also counts. Bushmeat can be cut into jerky which is automatically cured for extra days. Quick source of food for long day travels. Normal meats aquired from pigs work too
